NVIDIA installer cannot continue

I've been trying to solve this since I bought Battlefield 1, but it won't let me play until I install newer drivers.
My laptop came with windows 10 and GTX1070. I've done all the windows 10 updates. When I try to install the 376.09 drivers, I get the error saying the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware :(

I tried installing both manually and with GeForce experience.



EDIT: In the meantime, I was able to install an older driver from mid-November. Hopefully it's good enough to run the game at least.

You have to use the drivers provided by your laptop manufacturer. Go to their support or download page to get the newest version that is available for your laptop.

Simply adding the .inf to the desktop drivers will let them install, but you should expect incompatibilities. For an example: I had a laptop with an AMD video card installed, and forcing the newest drivers directly from AMD to install caused certain ARB and other extensions to not function, which in turn causes graphical anomalies such as missing textures or incorrect pixel shaders in games.
 
OP, have you tried the 376.19 driver that came out today? From the sounds of it it might not work, but worth trying.
