I have not posted here in the past, but I have been a long time reader of HardOCP. I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with WTFast and it's company. I heard about WTFast from checking out product pages for MSI video cards (I was thinking about purchasing an msi gaming x gtx 1070) I noticed that if i purchased the video card i would get a 2 month trial of WTFast. I should have been more discerning about the WTFast program and its claimed benefits, but i was curious so I want to the WTFast website and noticed they were offering 2 week free trials. So i signed up for a free account and free two week trial and downloaded their program. Surely, I mistakenly thought that if msi was offering a two month free trial it must work. I installed the WTFast program and started it up. Then I started world of warcraft up and i noticed it increased my ping an average of about 30 ms. I want to the troubleshooting section of wtfast's website and tried everything there. After trying everything in troubleshooting section, WTFast still increased my ping in world of warcraft by an average of about 30ms. So I uninstalled it.
Then I decided to look at WTFast's forums, I admit I should have looked earlier but almost all the posts were about the WTFast program raising people's pings in games. I read the forums rules and decided to leave a respectful post (no bad language or swearing or anything like that) In the short post I basically said that it raised my ping in wow by 30 ms in world of warcraft and that I felt that the service offered was snake oil. Instead of reaching out to me which they do once in a while in their forums they banned me from their forums and canceled my two-week trial.
I am so glad i did not give them money and I feel so sorry for the people that did. Bottom line is the services WTFast offers is snake oil and I am now considering a different brand of video card because I don't trust msi when they associate themselves with a company such as WTFast.
