Any games you suck at but love anyway?

For me it's strategy games. I love StarCraft games, Company of Heroes, Civilization. I also liked Commandos and sucked at that, too.

Now, losing is not meant to be a pleasant experience since this is how we learn. Ant yet not all losing is equal. It's one thing to get out played in a slower paced strategy, different in an intensive one like StarCraft that is also probably close MOBAs, and completely different in Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, or Quake/UT.

I remember dying literally every 2 seconds or sooner for 10 minutes straight on Quakeworld dm4. Now that's losing. Am not a bad MK player but I've seen people on youtube that could choke me to death the same way.

There was also this japanese turn based football game for NES that I love to hate. I don't remember screaming louder in my life.

I suck at most games but love them anyways. I think I'm worst at FPS games, but I seem to enjoy them alot (especially the Battlefield series)

All of them. I really suck at games that are third person (I can't seem to control my character properly - running into walls). I play first person games solely because of that.

I'm trying to get better at games like Homeworld, Homeworld Cataclysm, and Imperium Galactica. Old games, but there is so much going on at one time.

Dying Light. A kick-ass game, but I suspect that I'm a 'worse than average' player.

Yeah, Dying Light on Hard difficulty. You die often but it is soo satisfying. It makes my hair stand on end.

It is especially scary at the begging before you get good weapon and grapling hook.

I used to suck at Battlefield but played it anyways. I think BF1's slower pace has helped me be a better player so I love it even more for that. COD was a game I sucked at but poured hours into also. I sucked because who plays COD anymore. :D

It's an odd one, but I love the PS1 game Epidemic. It's not the greatest game but I love the atmosphere & music of it. I've never hit the end but I hope to someday.

I suck at PvP in the Souls games, but have just come to accept it and I just have to deal with it. I love fighting games, yet I just can't figure it out.

While I used to be quite good at the 2D versions ('88-'96) Madden games, I'm horrible at anything newer. It used to be that you always swapped to the players nearest to the action, but now that's a death sentence.

Games like SpaceChem...I love the idea of it, but it just melts my brain and I end up giving up pretty quickly.

I am pretty bad at Mad Max. I think I would enjoy the game if I was any good at it. I am terrible at controlling my car during car battles, and the melee combat QTE system is awkward. I am too use to Dark Souls type combat I guess.

I've been loving Mad Max, though I don't always get the counterattack timing right myself. Still a blast to play though.

The whole Souls series. I've barely clawed my way through Dark Souls 1 and 2, most of Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3.

Some RTS games. I don't like a lot of them but the ones I do I'll play fairly often. Unfortunately, I suck at them.

I suck at Bloodborne, but was able to get through all the bosses and optional bosses on the first playthrough.
I suck at Titanfall MP, but have been having a blast....time will tell, as I get older my reflexes have been not as good.

World of tanks, I don't sit around and plan out the battles very well so I die often, but still have a blast playing

I don't suck at it but I wish I was more interested in games like Diablo, Icewind Dale, Path of Exile etc...I just can't get into them...

Wish I could quick scope on COD or Battlefield as those guys piss me off - don't play much any more but still....I can generally hover around 1:1 KD ratio most of the time.

RTS games - totally suck at those though.

I love some rocket league, I'm most definitely average though. Nearing 200 hours now, but I'm still pretty inconsistent. It's fun though.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Gran Turismo, despite failing at the racing license tests. The early circuits are still very entertaining, especially Grand Valley Speedway (where I find myself in the gravel trap of the very first hairpin at least once in a 3 lap race).

I played lots of Dance Dance Revolution (and the unofficial PC port, Stepmania) in college, despite never passing any version of MAX300. I had terrible timing, and rarely got 'A' scores (I think my hardest 'A' was a single 7-footer). Still, I would play the straightforward songs, and I could do some of the simpler crossover runs. One of my favorite songs was 'Sana Morette Ne Ente' at a blistering 90 BPM.

I also enjoyed Starcraft, although I would be destroyed in MP, and I couldn't beat the original campaign (especially the infiltration levels) without cheats. (I was so grateful that QWERTY contains the three letters WER in a row...) One of my proudest early gaming memories was beating the Terran mission with the Ion Cannon at the end, without cheats.

Similarly, I enjoyed the SP Risk-like campaign of the later WH40K Dawn Of War games. I would be destroyed in MP, but I would build unassailable empires in the SP overmaps. 10 defense everywhere, 4 turrets, maxed response army, the works. And yet I would fail the 'HQ takeover' missions with suspicious regularity...

Retrospectively, I must have been awful at X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, since I had trouble completing a good number of the missions, but I played quite a lot of it back in the day. (I never played any game in that series with a campaign, only the 'Scenario maps with bots' missions from XvT).

It's funny to me that game is STILL around. I played that back in the beta and it actually was fun back then because everyone was on a level playing field. No one knew the maps or the tanks yet, so anyone could hop in and do well. My biggest issue with ranking games like that is once everyone figures out the best tank, place to hid, out ranks everyone else, etc etc, it can detract from the fun. I think I tried it again a couple years back and it's not fun going back in with a starting tank when everyone else around you like 5 levels higher.

For me it's probably Super Mario Bros. Take your pic which one. I love playing the 3rd one but I've never beat that game all the way through myself. I've actually managed to beat Zelda without cheating at all, but that game is far more forgiving.

Add World of Warships to my list. Just started playing this past weekend....what a blast, but man do I suck.

not really

If i like a game i like to study it and figure out the mechancis in it and measure how I'm improving in it.

Prime example was the old master of orion for dos i tried for nsotalgia reason over a year ago. i started on simple difficulty but read into it figures out more and more of the math behind the game and ended up beating it on impossible at couple of times.

back when i playeded halflife i would figured out how much damage weapon does to each monster and figure which weapon kills and enemy the fastest.

Doom 3 figured out the attack patterns for the soldiers so you could eassilly evade thire attack and get them down in 1-2 shotgun shots.

I ussualla also play game until i at least complete them before moving on to another game

Just go Pyro.

I only play TF2 when drinking anymore. Either Pyro or Engineer camping Intel. Sniper if someone pisses me off but then its back to camping intel getting the server to sing Bon Jovi with me.

Age of Empires II.

I love this game, and it hates me.
Aw man, love that game. Back in the day, we organized a game vs Robert Stone I think his name was. He had a hand in designing the game or something. We won, but it was 2v1. It was close. Fun times. I haven't played that in years and years.

As for myself, MP-FPS games. I suck at all of them. Titanfall I wasn't bad, but a 1:1 KD ratio was good for me. I don't know how everyone does it. I get so pissed off too. haha

I dont think a 1:1 KD should every be looked down upon. Atleast you pulled your weight and didnt slack off.

I hear you thou, some of these kids fly around and pop headshots like they are using aimbots.

Alot of it depends on your age, I think say when you pass age 28 your impulse signals from your brain to your muscle have slowed and so you have to be twice as good as the 18 year old to match him.

I think alot of may have to do with screen size in fps games. Like...I would coop on xbox with my buddy in COD coop missions and he was always popping the snipers when they popped up from the tall grass and he always did better then me. I then watched him do it at his house and I was amazed at how easy it was for him. You see I had the 32inch 1080p tv and he had a 50inch 1080p tv and so everything was just stretched and bigger, easy to identify and get your reticle on.

I kinda wonder if the best monitor for like bf1/ow would be a screen that is 40 inch at 1080p and 120hz. Sure it would look like crap but you arent playing to enjoy the view you are playing to win!
