Deus Ex : Mankind Divided

There's a vendor if you don't send him away during a quest. (Spoiler alert I guess...)

Hmm...I finished it but I don't recall that part...must have missed it or wasn't paying attention.

EDIT: Actually I think there was a female vendor earlier in the mission (that likes to hit on Jensen IIRC) but I don't know if I could/wanted to backtrack that far once I got farther in the mission.

I forgot about her. She's still there, you can backtrack the whole way. In the side of the level on the other side of the blockade there's a vendor that's also a quest objective.

I'm curious as to what methods other people used to take out the last boss? I'm about to finish my second play through and want to try a different method this time.

Last play through II was just running around for a bit scoping the area and found a terminal and turned the robots on him, he was dead pretty darn fast.

On my first attempt I figured I'd try and annihilate him with all of those lethal weapons I'd gathered throughout the game. I shot him point blank with a maxed out shotgun 20 times. Nada. Ditto with unloading with a revolver. I ran out of ammo. The third time I just hopped in a vent, shot him with the stun gun, hopped out and "finished" him with a takedown. Apparently 20 shotgun blasts and a full stock of revolver ammo doesn't do much to him, but beating him up works fine?

I'm at a point where the side missions are ping-pong-ing me across both sides of Prague. I feel like I'm spending more of my time traveling from point A to B than I am actually sneaking around haha.

I just finished the game yesterday. My primary complaints are that the "add-on" missions are not integrated into the game like it was with Deus Ex: HR, so there is a disconnect when you go back and play and you are left wondering why some decisions you made in the main game are reversed in the DLC. Just a janky experience. Also, the world is a bit more claustrophobic than the previous. Much more verticality, but makes it feel smaller.

Otherwise, a solid game. When I get home, I'm playing again from the beginning.

I still have yet to finish my stealth playthrough, but I think the shorter length might be a boon (for me, at least) as it makes me more likely to play through again going full combat.

Simple fix for those annoying intro videos easier than replacing with 1 second blank ones was found. Just put in -benchmark in the steam launch properties.

Anyone play around with DX12 since the patch? I know it was worse performance than DX11 on Nvidia beforehand with no visual improvement.

There is a way to shut him down instantly, there's a kill switch in a suit case under a desk. When you're in the hall that leads to the kitchen where you find Miller, go left (instead of right to the kitchen) where there's a guy sitting at a desk. I managed to find that my first playthrough. Other than that, EMP him and do a takedown.

New patch out.

The following gameplay changes are in this patch:
  • Fixed regression that was introduced in last patch: Walking speed is now fixed properly.
  • Fixed regression that was introduced in last patch: Talos Rucker no longer spawns twice.
  • AMD intro video now has a lower volume.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking on some interactive objects, such as computers or keypads, could cause Jensen to unholster his weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where some users had to create a new Windows account to be able to start the game.
  • Fixed a crash when loading a savegame.
  • Fixed an issue where SSAO could introduce some graphical artifacts.
  • Fixed an issue in Breach where the Booster Pack open button would not be shown, even though the user had Booster Packs to open.
  • Fixed issues with the dialogue selection wheel.

The following DirectX 12 changes are in this patch:
  • Improved stability and performance.
  • Major improvement to loading times.

LOL, wtf?

Looks like the game is shaping up nicely with the patches - thanks for the update. I'm buried deep in other games ATM so I might wait until this baby is all patched up and rolled into a Definitive Edition or equivalent.

How many more DLC are left, just one?

I finished the game and the first DLC over the weekend. I must have triggered an alarm state somewhere, I didn't get Foxiest. Not really sure I want to dive back in; I did the DLC in about two sittings, and did some Breach.

was able to snag a code for the game for $25 (AMD is bundling the game)...I'm happy with that price (although $20 would have been better :D )...I'm getting a sense that the game is good but also slightly disappointing...as an Nvidia GTX 970 owner is DX12 playable (1920 x 1200) with most eye candy enabled or is DX11 the best bet as far as overall performance?

Even with the most recent (today) patch, DX12 doesn't show the same performance on nvidia hardware that DX11 does. Some people on steam have reported marginally better performance on DX12, but I'd just take ~15 minutes and see for yourself - but my money is on DX11 running better for you.

with DX12 it seems to take Nvidia a few patches and drivers to get their performance up to speed...I was hoping that after 10 patches Nvidia would be on par with AMD's DX12 performance by now...plus today's patch notes specifically mentioned improved DX12 performance, stability and load times...

The load times are better for sure, but DX11 is still faster. I agree, it's unfortunate that nvidia hardware doesn't scale as well with DX12, but I suspect that will change in the next 6 months when the 1080Ti is released.

I just started playing it. Quite fun so far. I'm looking forward to going with NG+ once I clear this round of it.

First I Tried to take him out fast with the sniper rifle but emptying a full magazine into the head didn't seem to even make a dent. Then I tried the shotgun, same story, I was dead way before I could do anything. And running away was not an option with all the boobytraps, and he could see me just fine even when cloaked. So hiding wasn't an option either. Then I realized that the damage I'm taking is more from the drones than him actually, his weapon is pretty useless. So I killed the drones and the turret with AP rounds, then filled him with EMP rounds, then to my surprise he could be taken down just as any enemy, a bit disappointing really

Anyone else tried using the telescope in the girl's apartment during the investigation side-mission?
There is no way of getting out of it, I got stuck there had to reload a previous save.

It was wonky...I think E, R. or F or something like that got me out of it.

Weird that they keyboard mapping would use an oddball key. On a gamepad it's just the same button you use to examine everything else.

Not just that, but you use different keys to get out from different menus trought the game. You use esc to quit keypads but you have to use Q specifically to get out of hacking. And you can't get out of weapon customization with anything but clicking exit with the mouse, it's really weird.

For me it was whatever was bound to "jump" (Space). I thought it was going to trigger a cutscene so I stayed put for a minute or so. Then the requisite WTF and figuring out how to exit.

It could've been space I remember trying all the odd keys on the keyboard, but I don't think I tried space.

Anyhow this is kind of interesting. At least for me as a programmer, to see something like this. Clearly at some point during development they intended to do something with the telescope, implemented the whole framework for it, but somehow later they didn't end up using it, maybe it was even disabled in some build, but later got re-enabled by mistake, who knows. This really shows how much stuff goes to waste during development, you create a full module for something, then it gets superseded, or irrelevant later.

When they gonna fix DX11 MGPU?

DX11 mGPU requires AMD / Nvidia drivers and game support. It is a collaborative process and even has trial and error for at least the GPU manufacturer to hack it to work within drivers.

DX12 mGPU just requires game developer support.

Which would you work on first?

Only four hours in so far but the game feels like a mess compared to the last one. Hard to use map, menus are difficult to understand, not enough flow and the beginning is rather dull. Performance is okay, and the game can look decent in some areas but it still needs improvements. Got some bad stutters once and a CTD but otherwise it worked okay. It can use some optimization. Animations are horrible for characters though. It looks even worse than Human Revolution, which wasn't exactly stunning either. They're enough to standout. Assets are rather low in detail to.

With luck the mess of a game will become a bit more straight forward as time goes on, and the story picks up. So far it seems like a lot of walking back and fourth and I fear it has fallen to the cliche "open ended" game design.

I had been waiting for a price drop on this. Literally played through HR right before it came out, didn't buy it at first due to issues with optimization and now it feels like the general consensus is the game just isn't that great at all. So disappointed.
