GrubHub: If You Agree With The President-Elect You Should Resign

People just need to chill out and relax, it's not like it's the end of the world. And I live in Canada. We've got more to lose from a Trump presidency than almost anywhere (except Mexico) because he says he's going to kill NAFTA. Maybe our Prime Minister Babyface McFrenchfries will be able be able to work that out with him, Trump doesn't seem completely unreasonable.

His rhetoric has completely changed after the election. It's almost as if every inflammatory thing he said earlier was just a show.

They've been taken over by the SJWs and BLMs. Basically they go into full retard mode whenever anyone disagrees with their views.

Listen, I think it's really noble to stand up for social justice and represent people without a voice, but basically saying "if you agree with this country's democratic decision, f*** off", well, that's the same sh** terrorists start out saying...

His rhetoric has completely changed after the election. It's almost as if every inflammatory thing he said earlier was just a show.

It was definitely a show, you realize that the Trump and Clinton families are friends? The whole thing was the dog and pony show the public wanted. Am I saying I think Trump will be a good President? No, no idea at this point, but the rhetoric was definitely a show.

Because this is how it works:

Progressive CEO: "I saw this on your Facebook page: "I believe illegal aliens should be deported in accordance with our democratically enacted immigration laws."

Progressive CEO: "The term 'illegal alien' is offensive, it demeans immigrants"

Employee: "No, I'm not talking about legal immigrants, I'm referring to illegal aliens"

Progressive CEO: "You're clearly a racist, you're fired".

The CEO clearly referenced Trump like behavior. Your skit should read more like:

Progressive CEO: "A few clients recently complained about a post on your Facebook page. Were you aware that your public profile included comments like: "When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists."?

Employee: "Damn skippy."

Progressive CEO: "Unfortunately due to current economic circumstances we've been forced to make some tough cuts here at progressive corp, and unfortunately your talents are no longer required. Please grab your employee badge and office key, I'll walk you to conference room 4C - HR is waiting for you."

And that's assuming they hadn't noticed your tendencies towards exhibitionism earlier, if they had HR would have a smorgasbord of (totally legitimate) policy violations on tap to fire you with cause and ensure you wouldn't collect unemployment.

Of course the CEO clearly stated the company drew the line with behavior. Not thoughts, not opinions, behavior. I don't care what company you work for, if you waltz around "demeaning, insulting, and ridiculing minorities, immigrants, and the physically/mentally disabled" you WILL get fired, even if you didn't get a pouty email from your liberal boss. If you're silly enough to use facebook as a platform to behave similarly you can expect the same. It's happened plenty of times before.

Now, if the CEO had stated "If you voted for Trump you need to resign" or "If you disagree with Hillary Clinton's policies you'll be fired" I'd agree with you, that's way over the line. Instead he carefully stated that the company does not tolerate offensive behavior, and if you don't see a problem with offensive behavior in the workplace you should resign. I'm pretty sure my employee handbook says something similar, albeit couched in ludicrous legalese. Not very controversial regardless of what the article's author seems to think.

***Edit***
That's EXACTLY it, if he would have just said that (without mentioning Trump) he would have been fine. For example:

Acceptable memo: Employees are not permitted to be racist bullies

NOT Acceptable memo: Employees are not permitted to be racist bullies...like that fucker Bob in accounting.
Tomato, Tomato... doesn't have the same effect in text. ;)

I thought he was pretty clear, and to be fair he didn't call out an employee, just Trump. Trump is the alpha-troll, using him to describe a level of offensive is like using Kanye West as a gauge for crazy. In any event I'll bet he made sure none of his employees have enough cash to argue this one in court.

This is a narrow world view also.

Just to extrapolate on the Honeywell thing, we had a Trans GOP type I was forced to have to work with when on the safety committee there. Sam/Samantha even had a third bathroom installed in Plant 1, and that was in 2001. I guess may have been the token Trans Right person.

Even had 3 Black Female Right oriented Evangelical engineers tour the shop once, the slimy limey,"former British Marine who used to work at Lotus" was told he had to take down a picture of Diane Lane that was on the front page of a national newspaper he'd stuck near his desk.

It was a normal front page photo.

A lot of PC views are not isolated to the "Left"

Well, his politics involving strict immigration laws, right-wing focus, etc. all emerged after his decision to run for president. It was pandering and attention-whoring all the way.

I would email back telling him I voted for Trump and agree with his politics... Then at the first sign of discrimination, sue.

wow talk about totally unprofessional why would I want to work for an asshole like that.

I'd post a trump poster on his office door then walk out.

And cover his car completely in Trump bumper stickers.

Subscribe his company email to every single site that puts out good things about Trump.

Make sure he is completely covered up to his neck in "Trump".

I don't like bullies and would fight back.

Of course it might just be a better idea to sue him for all he is worth and then some.

You've got people in Vancouver protesting at a Trump building...lol.

So glad I don't work at a crap place like that.

This guy would freak out if he knew what we did after Trump won the election.

The next day we hooked up a laptop to the big screen in the lobby so we could watch Hillary tuck her tale where it belongs.

We were hoping for her to come completely undone. Sadly she held the rage back pretty good.

Meh. Article felt like Fox needed some clickbait, the actual email does a decent enough job differentiating between voting for Trump and actually agreeing with the shit he said/did. I voted "for" Trump and I agree with the CEO of GrubHub. My vote was 100% anti-Hillary, if I thought a 3rd party had a chance in hell of winning I'd have gone that route instead. Trump is a potato, but even a potato is liable to do less long-term damage to this country than Hillary.

100+
Trump wasn't my 1st, 2nd or even 3rd choice, but he ended up the only one who had a chance beating Hillary, and so he got my vote.
I would had voted for Bernie Sanders over Hillary if that was the only choice, even though I disagreed with about every thing he wanted to do.

what a piece of shit ceo. well gee i dont agree with lyou so im going to fire you. wowl just pathetic

So I take it you expected Hillary to react like a raging maniac like the newly elected POTUS would have if he lost ?

Says a lot right there, I suppose.

I wonder if he has been allowed to post on Twitter again yet.

He's actually been posting about the protests calling for peace.

They gave him his twitter back and he promptly complained about people protesting him. "I am being insulted! To Twitter! Sad!"

We are in for a long four years.

Did the [H] just get political? This is a death nail story man. Best sit this one out. The next 4 years are going to tear America apart. Its just not that Trump won. It was everything he did up to that point that has scared the crap out of most Americans. Imagine what would happen to the forums if everyone was allowed to act like Trump. Not many would want to be here. Don't let the [H] get caught up in the Hate. This is my favorite hardware site. Dont want to see it diminish.

CEO of GrubHub is acting like a little crying brat - a boys club in a tree house version. Join us or get OUT. So childish of him.

If you left your company's critical information on an unsecure server, you'd be fired, so they should be warned if they ACT like Hillary, they're going to get fired.

Um, if that's the standard then we need to fire the CIA, NSA, DIA, DoD, Army, Navy, Air Force, NASA, NOAA, DoE, Dept of State, etc.

The scary thing is really this: Clinton's email server was unlikely to be less secure than any email server in the US Gov.

Its just not that Trump won. It was everything he did up to that point that has scared the crap out of most Americans.
There's 240M voters, only 120 cared enough to vote, and only 60 voted against him. That doesn't sound like most.

And then people are surprised why Trump won, lol
Yeah this is one of those things that bugged me as a democrat. I'm one of the people who didnt vote because I plain ole didnt give a fuck anymore. I wasnt going to vote for Donald because he's a loon, but the dems have let me down so they dont deserve my vote either. Just sit back and let it happen. These kind of attitudes alienate people like me and make me want to disassociate myself with democrats. Basically just quit being a bunch of crybaby bitches. You lost, deal with it. The country is so evenly split anyway you might as well let the repub's have a crack at it. I personally am in favor of some variety here and there. The country shouldnt continue to be run by one party that consistently wins by barely a percentage point. If repubs completely fuck up the country well then they'll lose the next election and everyone will say "you had your shot".

I'm so sick of people talking about Trump, and people who voting for him as being racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, etc. "I'm tolerant of everyone except intolerant people," where intolerance is anything that doesn't fit your world view!

I don't like Trump. I didn't vote for Trump. But what did you offer me as an alternative? Hillary Clinton? Seriously? Politico had a story earlier about how Hillary's campaign decided it did not want to go after the white working class vote, because that was against the new Democratic landscape. She wanted to be a president of all, provided you weren't a straight white male, the most evil, vile, and wicked of all people. And you wonder why people bring up such a thing as reverse racism? Because tolerance is not a one way street! You vilified anyone who dared to not vote for Hillary, including those in your own party. I might not have much political acumen, but I'm pretty sure ignoring a large sector of the population is not a pathway to success. And to antagonize them and insult them doesn't exactly help your case for the party of acceptance and equality. So don't give me this BS about how vile Trump and his supporters are. TAKE A LOOK IN THE F***ING MIRROR!

undertaker2k8 is a perfect example in the hyperloop thread.

Just because someone voted for a particular candidate doesn't mean that they even like the candidate, only that they disliked the other person even more. This particular presidential election has been especially divisive, and there have been many wounds created, and I don't think too many people were especially happy with the choices we had at the beginning of June. At least thank the people who took the opportunity to vote in this election.

People voting for Trump because they didn't like Hillary. This election basically turned into one of able bodied people demanding to be catered to personally, with total disregard of anybody else.

I'm disabled, and with Republicans in charge of everything, I'll probably be dead by 2020. Hope people's ego stroking was worth it. Then again this is America. Where we just don't give a shit if it doesn't personally affect us.

So many people didn't think of the ramifications. They just demanded Hillary suck their dicks if she wanted their vote.

Trump already bullied disabled people and Paul Ryan has been demanding the utter castration of funding for everything that keeps disabled people from living on the street. So thanks. At this point I don't know what they're going to do, but I get to live in flux, not knowing month to month if I'll be living, and dying on the street. Thanks for the unimaginable and prodigious amount of unending stress I'll be going through for the foreseeable future. Hope you all find the America you're looking for. Maybe 10,000 people that didn't vote for Hillary just because they hated her could just crowdfund $5 a month each for me if that happens.

Both sides should just shut the fuck up.

Trump supporters should stop trying to rub it in to everyone who didn't support Trump or was against him, and realize what the people they elected represent. Which is climate change is a hoax, vaccines cause autism, and that creation should be taught in science classes. You elected the anti-science group, which is more scary to me than any corrupt politician.

The democrats should stop being in denial, yes trump won, man the fuck up, and stop whining, and burning american flags. The person you wanted didn't win so now fuck murica? How petty one can be?

You seem 'less informed'. Try not denying information and actually listen/read. He is right...

Videos of Hillary's camp BRAGGING about paying to antagonize violence, "instigation training", and using mentally handicapped people, to cause violence at Trumps most violent ralliess (Chicago and Arizona). There is even video of these people AT the rallies.. MUST WATCH:

Moveon.org, paid for by Billionaire George Soros, is orginizing the ONGOING protests:

http://www.breitbart.com/live/2016-...ng-upset-victory/moveon-protests-white-house/

And they are paying people also:

Just because you dont know, or dont want to know, doesnt make it fake... Reality doesnt need you to believe it.

Just since it bears repeating once more: the American public doesn't elect the President of the United States - it never has and this election is no different, that's not how our election system works. The Electoral College elects the President, and that's just 538 people. If the American public did actually elect the President by raw vote - not "popular" but raw vote count on a per-person basis - we already know who would have won this election based on the vote count tally.

So from a purely technical standpoint while the Electoral College at this moment hasn't voted (that happens on December 19th) and since only 26 states require the Electors to vote according to the will of the people in their given states, it ain't over yet.

Not even remote legal to dismiss someone due to political affiliation. That being said if you share certain very obvious views with Trump and express those openly in a work environment... I can't imagine that panning out terribly well for you.

That CEO needs a lection in democracy. Just because you dont agree with the outcome, this is the rules of democracy.

Come to Texas. They have something called At Will. They can fire you for no reason at all. At least you got a warning.

So is Virginia, but the place I work at has been sued multiple times for letting people go. A friend of mine got $10,000.
