It looks as though hackers are already exploiting that Windows flaw that was disclosed by Google yesterday. The attacks exploit a vulnerability in Adobe Flash and one in the Windows.

Microsoft Corp said on Tuesday that a hacking group previously linked to the Russian government and U.S. political hacks was behind recent cyber attacks that exploited a newly discovered Windows security flaw. The software maker said in an advisory on its website there had been a small number of attacks using "spear phishing" emails from a hacking group known Strontium, which is more widely known as "Fancy Bear," or APT 28. Microsoft did not identify any victims.

I'm 100% for getting companies to fix their stuff quicker... however android is one of the worst platforms of all time... to a level of kanye all time. I may have the only phone in a 5 mile area around my house with 7.1, 90% are rocking v4.1 or lower that I help with.

Thanks Google, at least you have given me the possibility of further virus removal work. ;)

I love how the government / press is playing up the "Russia" hacking as if it was the worst thing in the world ... hello? Did you guys simply forget about the NSA and all the crazy crap those guys have done / are doing ... to their own citizens?

uh no federal agency gives a shit about you, the fbi if anyone... Russians and Chinese have actively hacked and government agencies and stolen information regarding private citizens.

God forbid that Microsoft actually hires competent people actually track bugs themselves instead of hiring media to shift the blame somewhere else ....

Massive US government data centers and leaks concerning programs disagree with you. Doesn't matter if they have an active interest or not. They are still collecting just in case. It's rip for abuse. There's the saying "Fish rots from the head." Pretty clear these days the US government is a fish that is rotten in the head, why should I believe the rest of the body is a.o.k.?

It's not either/or. Some of us have plenty of outrage to go around. These recent cases don't deserve any less attention just because we have our own internal problems. We are six days from a presidential election and foreign parties are actively engaged in making it even more of a shitshow than it already would have been.

Most of the rank and file workers at least try to do their jobs, at least some of the time. It's the bastards at the 'head' that lie through their teeth close to 100% of the time that makes everything suck. Presidents, congress, pretty much anyone who has been elected or has reached his level of incompetence (For anyone who hasn't heard of it, The Peter principle: Workers will be promoted until they reach a point where they are unable to do their job, then remain there and clog up the system until retirement or get promoted to a non functional position just to get them out of the way). The government is filled with these nincompoop department heads.

Just to be clear, Russia is the super power of the world now right? I mean, is there anything they CAN'T do at this point?

Motherfuckers hacked my microwave and made it blow up the ends of my hotdog. Fuck you KGB!

I find this fascinating. It's now OK for Russia to hack private US interests because the fringe has gone, well extremely fringe. For some reason I have a feeling this group would have a bit of a problem with state sponsored everything, but the political season has made everyone go crazy and to extremes.
