…that’s it? I would have thought that a Hollywood collectible would have gone for a bit more.

It is near impossible to hear Queen’s legendary ballad Bohemian Rhapsody without thinking of one of rock’s most iconic film moments. Yes, it’s the soulful, headbanging scene from 1992’s Wayne’s World, which proved so popular that the song shot up the charts 17 years after its release. The scene also featured a custom 1976 AMC Pacer owned by Garth Algar, who was played by Dana Carvey. And now the little hatchback has hit the auction block and sold. On Saturday, the car sold for a surprising $37,400 to an onsite buyer. Schwing!

yeah not a famous car really. not like the batmoblie, back to the future car, or something like that.

The most ever paid for a Pacer I am sure. The Gremlin and the Karman Ghia ties the Pacer as the ugliest cars ever made that sold in America.

That's what I was thinking. Who pays 30k for a pacer? I am surprised it pulled in that much. 10 years ago it probably would have done more. Not today though.

Just over twice the 1975 sticker price isn't terrible IMO... Add in the cost of any set props and I'd say they arguably doubled their money...

Cool car. My dad had a Pacer when I was growing up, we took many trips to Georgia in it.

dont forget the rope licorice dispenser where the dome light was. worth it alone lol
Yes, but they failed to restore the super rope reel and instead put some short crap sticks in there, defeating the entire purpose of the dispenser. :wtf: The owner needs to contact American Licorice Company for an uncut rope.

Totally off topic, but those trees in the back look straight out of Far Cry or something.
