Get those Surface Pens out. Microsoft has totally redesigned their Paint program to the extent that it might actually be worth using now.

A launch video notes that the new "Paint Preview" app includes all the familiar features of the regular version of Paint, but Microsoft is adding in 3D object support — an ideal addition for HoloLens. Paint Preview users will be able to create 3D objects, and annotate them freely. Microsoft has a range of markers and art tools to help artists create objects, and brushes that can be used directly on 3D objects. All of the tools appear to be pen- and touch-friendly, with an interface that mixes 3D models, 2D images, stickers, and community tools for 3D content.

Yea..that will totally get me to upgrade to win 10 and stop using photoshop......./s

Can I pain some hair back on her? Wow does that take away from the video. I just fixated on that.

The interface looks too simple for any real work. I think it will just take over as the program people use to make bad cartoons.

Girl's got some clear daddy issues. Notice the cutter scars on her wrist and arms?

you noticed something on body parts not shown in the video? damn, I guess the new paint bleeds over to the video player and gave you 3d control of that also to move the camera around.

Paint was never intended to be used for work.

I use it quite a bit to quickly resize or crop photos.

It's a free app...they're increasing functionality for free. What's the big issue? If you like something else better, don't use it.

Also, who gives a fuck about her hair? I swear, you people... :p:rolleyes:

Can i paint some hair back on that chick?

Damn straight. 10 bucks says she's either a social justice wanker or a feminist (or both).

PS. Paint is always handy for screen shots and .png saves /quick image resizes on PC's that are plane-Janes and have nothing else installed to do so when you need screenshots! lol

So you already categorized her by the hairstyle as an sjw? I thought sjw's were the one lumping people into groups based on trivial externalities. It's kind of ironic that you'd do the exact thing the people you're criticizing do.

I use it for quickly saving screenshots in png even on machines that has something else installed. It's just the quickest way. ALT-PRTSCN -> windows key -> mspaint -> CTRL-V -> CTRL-S -> done all in less than 3 seconds.

Firstly... talk about introduce a none existent "problem". I made a judgement. Big fucken deal. Thats how the world works. Its not an issue unless you make it one (which you clearly have as i never mentioned anything about SJW categorization at all let alone if it was something i considered an "issue" nor one that somehow i thought SJW's did).

Regardless, as if it would hurt anyone anyway. It allows me to evaluate who it is and how they will effect me and how i should proceed. You sound like one them.... you get hurt feelings because reasons and everyone else should change reality because YOU say so instead of hardening the fuck up and being an adult.

Categorizing things helps me IMMENSELY and i will not stop doing it because you somehow think you have to invent a problem with it and then invent some kind of correlation between it and SJW's.

Yes. Been doing it for years. Though there are faster methods to do it since WIN8, but i can never remember it so i always stick with Paint (aside from Dropbox doing it.. i use Paint to crop the .png file Dropbox creates and auto uploads). quite handy.

That's one way to ideologize it.

And tell me, what is the result of evaluating her hairstyle? How does it affect you? It has nothing to do with my feelings. I was merely pointing out that you might be doing the same thing.

I didn't need to invent anything. It's fact that feminists and SJWs categorize people based solely on race and gender. And they attribute certain things to them like male = privileged, female = victim without even examining the individual. Like you did right now by attributing feminism to a hairstyle. You really don't see any similarity there?

Wow, it's sad how a video about one of the most-used apps besides notepad devolved into an argument of over-generalization.

I'd totally hit it though. I like different, mostly because of the way it provokes a response. She's hot.

Funny in the beginning of the film they had Photoshop pinned to the start menu....then removed in the other shots.

I say bring back the PowerToys...I used those much more than Paint.

I was with you until the last three sentences. Tastes differ I suppose.

And for this it looks much less efficient, given the horrid UI design. All you use paint for is to Print Screen, Control V, and crop. Or open a image to quickly draw a giant red circle to point something out. Everything else, Photoshop or GIMP. Again, Microsoft does not understand the utility of their programs and is trying to push their tablet based programs for desktop/laptop users. All I will do is switch to Photoshop for the two tasks outlined above.

Oh, man! My go-to for adding stick arms and faces to inanimate objects is going to get complicated!

Also, can anyone guarantee to me that she did not just have surgery recently perhaps?

I don't keep up on paint but it has always surprised me that MS does not include some basic productivity features, or maybe I don't know they exist yet.

The biggest one is layers. Independent layers is IMO the 1 defining feature that separates professional drawing and painting and photo editing applications from kids stuff. But even for kids it would be incredibly useful for them to get to know layers at an early age and understand their use in computer art. For the vast majority of the population photoshop is MASSIVE overkill especially from a cost standpoint. But even people who mostly do basic work like myself will be forced to use photoshop, paint shop pro, or gimp in order to get access to layers. Add layers and many more people will find paint useful and sufficient for their needs.

Also one thing that kinda annoys me about MS is how they have some sort of serious internal issues with simplifying product lines. Fresh paint, vs paint, why are their 2 different applications, how about groove and media player. Clean the junk up and invest all your coding talent in 1 product and make it more useful. You can keep the simple interface for the noobs but give people menus to uncover more powerful features.

Microsoft knows Windows Update is still broken, right? How about fixing that?

I think it has become a thing.
At the end of XPs lifecycle the same thing happened. I remember that because of the power bill - all our single core and dual core machines were pegged at 100% all day hanging on WU.
I have actually had to disable Windows Update on a Vista laptop I have.
It's really not a thing I would normally do but I began disabling Windows Update on some of my machines even at work. Risk to benefit ratio...
