$200 For Wi-Fi At Presidential Debates

If you are a journalist at the presidential debates tonight, be prepared to shell out $200 for Wi-Fi access. It's only $325 for ethernet access and $75 for no internet access at all. Meanwhile the entire world will be watching it live on the two billion different outlets that will be streaming the debates for free.

...and people wonder why or how this nation has gotten itself into so much trouble:

Greed

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

USB tethering bypasses this. Apparently they're using a $2000 Wifi Hotspot detector but they can't detect USB tethering.

Wait there was a debate tonight??? Pretty sure I just watched the dillusional incoherent ramblings of a con artist and a woman attempt to talk of government policy.

I thought it was an episode of the donald trump comedy hour 2 hour special. Mmm mm. Someone should let donald know people in the audience were laughing at him not with him.

That's illegal

Most trade shows don't allow you to run your own WiFi. Depending on the building, it might have poor cell reception too.
We usually buy the internet connection and use our own WiFi router. It's set to the same connection as the office, so everyone's laptop & phone will connect, and we have a guest password for any Vars that happen to be in the booth.

It's just a basic home router and buried in one of our display cabinets, so the range is short and it doesn't go much past our booth. Haven't had anyone fine it yet :)

TRIGGER WARNING: you are getting ripped off if you come to this school. Student, or special event, it doesn't matte.

It's just an overpriced safety school that's close to home (an appealing feature for New York's most spoiled brats). They host a debate every now and then to remind people they exist, and steal more money.

I'm just disappointed she didn't fall into one of her episodes on stage.
I'm surprised she managed to keep a straight face with all the lies she was telling, but then she did spend the last 30 years practicing.

Your perception of reality is very alt-wrong.

It's a good thing we live in a country where everyone has the freedom of being wrong. Seriously though, you're welcome to believe in a candidate who repeats the same phrases and words five times when answering a question while not giving an actual answer. I mean seriously, you kinda lose a debate while doing that. Yet, I guess he really does have great communication capabilities, I mean I've known great people with great communication capabilities, and repeating the same awesome words over and over again without providing any answer to most questions is by far the greatest. I mean I've seen some people who were really great at this, but this is by far the most greatest of great that I've ever seen at these great capabilities. w

Most the polls are showing that Trump won, although I'll wait and see what the poll numbers are in a week to really see who won.

Only a candidate as bad as Hillary would have trouble beating an outsider like Trump.

4chan and /r/thedonald had large posts to brigade the major polls. Both candidates are so bad that this election cycle is a complete farce IMO.

"Most of the polls" where? Drudge, Infowars, Stormfront? Trump is even making up polls that didn't exist.

If you think Hillary had trouble crushing Trump in the debate, you have brain damage.

For me polls are by and large utterly irrelevant because I'm simply not one of the sheeple, that's just how it goes. Of course, the sad situation that I and a few others find ourselves in is that we're the overwhelming minority and thusly Donald J. Trump will more than likely become the next President of the United States of America.

You know, saying "United States" at this point just doesn't sound right anymore. There's not much united about us at all, and the fact that Trump won the nomination and is like >this close< to winning it all should be a fact that sobers even the most steadfast alcoholic and dries out the most hardcore drug addicts.

Unfortunately, that's just how it is.

Anyway, this thread is going off the rails at this point so...

I actually agree that she's a bad campaigner and bad at being a politician. Maybe its bias and women in politics have to achieve a higher standard. But she's unlikeable in way very unlike Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. The democrats didn't do us any favors by nominating her and never giving Bernie a chance.

That said, she's eminently qualified to be President. She's just going to have a hard time getting as many votes as she deserves. Trump on the other hand has practically no qualifications to be President. And it goes well beyond that. There's unstated requirements that reasonable people have for their Presidents. Not being a racist is one of them. This hasn't been an actual factor that anyone needed to even mention since the 1960s probably, for any candidate from either party. Its just taken as a given. Until this year. But Donald Trump is a racist and will enact policies that will reflect that. I don't care what Hillary did with her emails and Benghazi compared to that. Trump can never get my vote. Seeing how I don't want to throw my vote away, Hillary gets my vote by default. If you prioritize dubious email and Benghazi claims as being more important to you than racism, then I can only conclude that you are in fact racist yourself.

Having trouble....I need some special brain damage glasses here.

Here's the ones listed on Drudge. So these might be the only ones as you note.

In fact you can see how little people visit Drudge. Sadly it's the only one that has a line trending up......that's bad right?

The Huffington Post one is actually the scariest thing on there.

Trump supporters have been posted over on Reddit to multi-vote these polls. They're the basic ones where you can just turn on Incognito Mode and vote multiple times.

I wouldn't really trust any of these.

Reddit is home to the extremes of both sides.

In other words don't write off one side for good behavior.
