NVIDIA's GeForce Experience 3.0 Released

While it can be used for it, it doesn't have to be. For example, I've never had Shadowplay support - and only some of my games support DSR (mostly Starcraft 2 and games older than that); however, it works with Plays.tv/Raptr (or even Twitch.tv/Raptr; the editing tools are easier for me to use, and it actually is lighter performance wise than OBS, and equivalent to XSplit GameCaster).

Then simply don't use it. They backed away from making it mandatory for driver updates.

It obviously has room for improval, but the concept of offering settings specifically optimized for your configuration is great.

Actually, Steam should integrate something similar.

Data collection probably.

Not probably, but actually. In the EULA they state it pretty clearly that you give permission for Nvidia to do a lot of data mining, including Personally identifiable information. Nvidia also states what they are planning to do with the information they have mined from your system. Nicely tied up to a login, just in case.

Too many companies are now trying to mine information out of consumers now. Nvidia is just one of many who profiles their customers. They do take it a step further then many, when they tie it up to a personal account, include personal identifiable information and make it mandatory.

I don´t need Nvidia to profile my computer and my usage of it, so fuck Geforce Experience.

But I will bet that you have either an andriod or Apple phone..and use google...so I don't see how you can think you have a point?

Whats the point you are not getting? That too many companies do datamining and that there is no fucking way I am going to install Geforce Experience, so Nvidia too can profile me and my system, including Personally identifiable information?

If they wanted that they could buy it from Google/Apple..happens all the time.
Again, you are not using a rational argument.

If you don't want to appear as having double standards, unplug the internet and destroy your phone.
I would wager you have not a single clue about how much information you feed either Apple/google, so your stance is really funny to me.
Funny, but very unintelligent.

Its not the matter of having double standards. Its a matter of limiting the amount of datamining. Some you can´t avoid, GE you can avoid for now at least (unless they tie it up to driver installs and make it mandatory to install drivers).

You seem to defend such practices. Well, I don´t care if you give everyone and their grandmother permission to profile you.

Nvidia going out of their way in their EULA to gain permission to mine your system, you usage of the system, including Personally identifiable information, and tieing all that information up to an account is not a move from Nvidia that I like or support. I don´t like being profiled, you seem to defend it, so lets agree we have a different stance on this.

I´m not installing mining software unless I have to. Respect my opinion on that!

Once your data is out to one party...it's "technically" game over.
Again, your are too emotinal and too little rationel.

But by all means, if you think it makes you "safer"...I just reserve my right to call it unintelligent (and giggle).

I don´t mind you have yourself a little giggle, I have myself a little giggle of you.

You are basically saying: "hey, so many companies already have all the information they need about you personally, so why not give any company direct permission to mine personally identifiable information, system information and also system usage information directly from your system. And hell, while your at it, why not tie it all nicely into an account for them, so its more convenient for Nvidia to use and sell". (y)

Install Nvidias Geforce Experience data mining and profiling tool™. I will not!

No you are saying "I don't want my information out in cyberspace"...when that boat sailed a looooooooooooong time ago.
In a double-standard way filled with emotions..that makes me giggle.

Your information is NOT safe...no matter what you tell yourself :)

Doublestandards amuse me...even if they are unitelligent.

LOL! Do you install any mining software based upon your idea of whats out there and available, or are you at least trying to limit who you give away your personal information to?

You want me to repeat my posts?
You are funny, but boring.
How you can get so emotional about software you do not use (and at the same time ignore that you yourself use software that gathers more personal information) is beyond me.

Again too many emotions, too little rationale.
Any other software you do not use that also makes you mad? :)

Only emotions I am feeling now is laughter. :p

You don´t need to repeat yourself, since you have repeated a lot already of what you are saying. Basically, you defend installing yet another data mining and profiling program based upon the fact that there are many companies trying to mine information out of you and have done so already. A program that you give permission to mine not only system information, but also system usage and personally indentifiable information with a account to hook all the information nicely up against.

Then you try to create a strawman as if this is the only time I react against data mining and that I don´t try to limit it elswhere too, calling it double standard. Both which is not true and only a strawman created by you, but are giving me a laugh nevertheless. I do limit logging and data mining where its possible.

People like you are gold for marketing departements in companies: "hey, they probably know it already, so let them mine all the information about me directly from the computer (and lets call all other people unintelligent for not installing mining and profiling software".

I have a picture in my mind right now of you installing a lot of data mining crap into your computer, thinking that they can buy the information, so why not just let them mine it themselves ...

Again with all the emotions and anger...you have more of those than my teenage daughter....just saying.
Have a nice life of getting angry over stuff you do not use :)

Laughter after you starting to reply to my posts, but thank you for wishing me a nice life. :p

You know, I could give a shit less about having to create accounts and login... I mean, it sucks and all but whatever - that's our online society now. I just want the fucking thing to work...

It took me over ten minutes to get an account created and sign in on this stupid piece of shit because it keeps crashing - and now even after it's all setup and logged in and it STILL falls on it's face after 20 seconds or so. It's a shame because from what I can see the UI is kind of nice and attractive.

At first I was trying to figure out why you were having a conversation with yourself in the forums. Then I forgot I have the Nvidia paid members on ignore.

Do what I Do. use the Ignore feature on them.

As to all your comments. I have 100% agree with you!

I don't understand using the ignore function on a discussion forum. Why be a member of a forum if you're never going to see the whole conversation?

Easy answer. Hard to have a conversation if you have paid shills who only have 1 job. To make (Nvidia) look good in anyway possible.

So if you ignore the paid shills you can have a decent conversation.

The only problem here is that people bitch and moan for any given reason. There's not a damn thing wrong with Geforce Experience. I log in, I like it, I use it. If you don't like it, good for you... uninstall it and save your fricking tears for something that maybe matters.

Change for the sake of change. Hopefully I will have to log in to a server so I can take a dump.

I just installed my new GTX 1070 and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the LED Visualizer program is now a standalone program and no longer requires you to install that GFE bloatware...hopefully they keep it separate

More like GFE shitware.

I couldn't get Shadowplay / Share features to work after I installed GFE as part of the latest WHQL driver install. I had to uninstall the GFE component and then reinstall in order to get the Shadowplay overlay UI working.
