Nice! I am surprised how nice the Riings are- I stumbled into a bunch of the cheap at Fry's and they (white) are the only light in my case...
Here is my latest build.

Nice and neat. Are you doing a voltage mod, too--it's starting to look like a transformer (and I'm not talking about the robots in disguise).

Here's a pic of my current system:
Man, that looks great! Love the blue
Thanks! I was pretty happy with how the color came out. Mayhem's Ice White base, and then I just kept adding drops of their non-stain blue dye until I got the right color.
I've been eyeballing those pump/res units from Monsoon. You happy with them?

i think its what hardware labs calls 'dark matter' texturing for their black ice nemesis rads.
Not much changed since I've built it, still deciding whether to void the warranty on my rx 480 or just leave it out of the loop. 270x is unused and not connected, didn't feel like pulling everything apart to take it out before I got my 480 working.

Not according to sapphire (whose gpu I purchased):Doesn't void the warranty to remove the cooler.
Now, I'm sure I could get away with it if I put the original cooler back on, any damage wasn't attributed to heat, and there were no signs of modification, but thats not super easy when you have to glue/epoxy heatsinks to the VRMs. Anyway, not the right thread for this discussion.sapphiretech said:
- The limited warranty does not cover products that the user has disassembled. GPU or ASIC devices (VGA) are sensitive to thermal (heat) issues. The heat sink has been designed to meet the requirements to ensure reliability of the product. Any warranty is rendered invalid if the product has been dismantled or the heat sink has been removed as this may cause damage to the GPU or ASIC device. Non-compliance will cause the warranty of the product to be void and repair will be at the users cost.

Only if they void the warranty without proof that it was caused by the replacement part or improper installation thereof. Still, good to know. It's illegal. They have to prove that what you did caused a failure. Reference the Magnuson-Moss Act

OTOH, it's federal law, so if you win they may have to pay court costs. In any case, I'm talking to a sapphire tech right now vie email. I mentioned the MM Act and their warranty to their RMA team, who forwarded me to their tech department, who asked if I planned to replace the cooler and with what. I told the rep what I was considering (GPU-220 + a custom vrm solution), I'll update this post once I get a reply. It's technically illegal for them to void the warranty just because you removed the cooler or serviced it yourself due tot he U.S. Moss Magnussen Warranty Act.
In order to refuse a warranty claim legally they would have to show that in the process of doing so, you did the damage that resulted in it not working. Those "warranty void if removed" warnings are really only put there for a combination of non-us markets that lack this protection, and as a scare tactic to get people to not fight refused warranties, or not file for them in the first place.
That being said, the problem is that it is a civil matter not a criminal one, so if they did wind up refusing to over your warranty solely because you removed the cooler, you would have to sue them, which can get expensive in a real hurry, and at the very least is very time consuming.
Sapphire Tech said:Here is the deal, if the card happens to have permanent modification that cannot return the card back to its production product spec stage, it will be consider void of warranty. If it's a simple modification that is just remove the fan and replacing it with another unit, as long as the card does not have missing parts from the original fan or permanent altercation to the card we will accept RMA. Hope that answers your questions.
