Another review of the Corsair H115i all-in-one cooler has popped up on the internet today and this time around it is the fellas at Overclockers Club doing the reviewing. It seems as though the OCC editors really like the H115i. Here's a quote from the full review:

Having looked at a pretty broad cross section of Corsair's Hydro Series line up over the past few years gives me an opportunity to see the growth and changes that Corsair has implemented to its All-in-One cooling solutions. As technology has progressed, so have the pump and control systems used to maximize the performance potential of Corsair's designs. The Hydro Series H115i does not re-invent the wheel, as it were, but what it does do is provide a cooling solution for even Intel's latest Extreme series processors like the Core i7 5960X.
 
Pros:
  • Large radiator
  • New pump and cooling plate
  • Braided covering on tubing
  • Corsair Link integration
  • Cooling performance
  • Fan noise and profiles
Cons:
  • 280mm radiator needs a capable chassis


I'd like to add a HUGE CON: The stock fans are really. fucking. loud. (Edit: at anything other than quiet mode)
 
Yep, I've got a couple "quiet" SP ones. They only worked decently when idling; they do push nice air; but goddamn the noise (reminded me of a radeon blower fan).
 
Confirmed on the fans. The "balanced" profile made me laugh when I first started it up. I thought the case might lift off the desk given the noise. Luckily, Quiet actually is, and cools fine on anything other than overclocked beasts under full sustained load.

I ended up replacing the fans with noctuas which I know have lower SP but still work fine. They're much quieter, even with the required increase in PWM settings to achieve the same airflow. I have my new fan curve going from 45 (totally quiet) to 65 (some turbulence sound). This has worked very well, with the CPU staying cool and very little noise even under heavy load.
 
I just installed this setup 2 weeks ago. I had to switch cases because it wouldn't work in my planned case. Before buying, make sure your case will be compatible. I must have gotten lucky, because the fans barely make any noise for me. I barely had to tweak the fan profile settings and my amd 8350 cpu stays around 32c at full load. The fan on my gigabyte gtx 1080 hybrid is definitely louder for sure and I had to play with that profile for a bit. Anyway, for a guy who's never done any kind of liquid cooling, corsair really knocked it out of the park for me. I followed the directions for the install, and that was it. I would buy again, or recommend to a friend who's on the fence about liquid cooling, but doesn't want to go the full custom route.
 
I swapped mine out for the Phanteks 140mm fans and hooked them straight to the unit to run on Corsair Link. All is quiet now at all speeds.

Which ones? There are a few different Phantek 140mm fans. I am planning on getting this cooler and will be putting much quieter fans on it.

Different people, different ears :) I don't hear anything till I'm encoding or gaming.
I went the same route as PhaseNoise and grabbed some of the PWM Noctuas (I did a 2 push/2 pull though, more fans but less RPM).
Hmm I probably should've held out for that Gigabyte, I went with the MSI one which has a blower for the memory. I don't notice any extra noise from it though (also went with Noctuas for grill).
