BATTLEFIELD 1

Respawning is also way too fast. *Well, it at least feels that way. The game may actually be balanced for it. But it sure feels dumb to get back to where you just died, so quickly.

This game is shit...not THE shit, just shit. At least the beta is any way. Every time except twice that I've tried to play I spawn with nothing. I'm not sure if I have something and I just can't see it or what but I have no arms and no weapon. I click the mouse to fire, and I'm not shooting either. People can run right up to me and shoot me, and I can't do anything. The times I have joined a server and had a gun I keep getting killed by either a tank or a sniper, both are annoying but I'm more annoyed by the tanks. I wish they'd do away with vehicles all together.

Buggy but at least I've had some fun. The problem is as I've seen others state this is so much of a run and gun that it makes it hard to get deeply into. From the surface it looks like it has potential to be deep with squads and leadership pushing people towards objectives. After a little while of playing and trying to "dig" there is nothing deeper. I've had some wonderful rounds where our team worked well, squads were pushing objectives as was the other time. Very close and good back and forth game.

Others its just a bunch of lone wolfs roaming around doing nothing so the 3 or for trying are unable to make a difference. I dont mind people playing their way to have fun, the problem in this is that they make no difference. I think CS:GO is deeper than this game :(

I wont be buying unless they patch things up and I just have an amazing time with the rest. It took a while to figure everything out but that only made minor difference to my enjoyment.

Server issues are getting a bit common though lol. Lots to like on the surface but I have too many casual games to want to get into this one. I hope they show more but we'll see.

There is another game where there are no vehicles and all infantry....What's that three letter acronym again? ;)
I'm gonna guess P.O.S. because the game you are referring to doesn't deserve being called anything else.

You guys boycotting the game will like the Final Release I bet the maps will be great.

new map makes people feel oooooo its glitchy . They could have just made this a mappack

I think when you have Trees to run over with Tanks people will be Happy. The Maps made Battlefield 4 great. The Night VIsion in BF 4 thing was great but that would never work for WWI. Unless you run around with a Latern or something. I never played a Battlefield game seriously if it's full casual with just one TDM game so be it.

a bug.. In a beta. Shocking! :)

Glad they finally took the 20 minute timer off on conquest. Most games last around 30 minutes now.

yeah the problem now is the music at the end lasts even longer, lol. I dont see an option to turn it off.

Stick to CoD. Battlefield has and always will be about large scale warfare.

You haven't spent the time to figure out how to counter each. Even with limited gear I am able to play around both. Perhaps you are just running around in the open?

I'm not sure the WW1 type of warfare is going to fit well. There's far too many machine guns, rambos, no trenches ( ONE trench in this map), too much vehicle use, planes maneuverability and ability to hit bombs is completely inaccurate, one random horse running around, sniper galore, etc. I know it's a beta and not all the maps but I don't think it will end up capturing WW1 the way it should.

Log into battlefield.com, navigate to the BF1 loadout section and equip your gear. The game is retarded that it bugs out and doesn't equip your loadout. I've been killed plenty of times like you being spawned with no weapons. It's even better when you get dropped right in front of snipers on a sniper map lol.

lol what. The latest BF games basically are COD. Telling someone to stick with COD doesn't even make any sense. They may as well be the same games now. The last real BF game was 2142 in terms of complexity and scale.

Only issue I'm having so far is too many tanks and medics being nearly garbage, unless you get the drop on someone.

Because it's not truly WWI....it's Battlefront with a WWI skin.

this has gotten really fun now that people know the lay of the land. all games tonight were at least 27X-300 and the game i just left was 297-300. really fun when it's that close, like all BF games. i dig the 'era' regardless of the liberties they took. this feels great, really fun.

Why do people have an issue with fast respawn time? I want to get back in as quick as possible.

No not even close. BF is a much larger game with vehicles. CoD has perks and score streak as well. Not sure how you can even remotely compare the games...

There is no fast respawn, you respawn in exactly the same amount of time if you call for a revive or skip it instantly. Only difference being you will get to the loadout screen faster if you skip, where you will then have to wait for the deploy timer to run out.

Needing to press a button to call for a revive is dumb, should be on automatically and you only have the option to cancel it.

I'm starting to like the game a little more, feels like floaty, or I just notice it less.

Really wish there was a way to dive in this game, would be a useful mechanic to hide from enemy fire

I just press the prone key while running and my character sort of dives. It's saved my ass so many times when I'm getting shot at from far away.

I turned dx12 on and it turned vsync on cause my fps were capped at 60, yet vsync was still off in the in-game options. it gave me alot of input lag. however with dx11 vsync on I have no real noticeable input lag.

do the graphics look better with dx12?

My biggest complaint... the uber light tank. Takes at least 3 players with anti-tank nades to bring it down. It self heals, and its a rolling supply shack. That thing needs to be nerfed right out of the box.

Yes, the tanks in general seem overpowered if used by competent players (i.e., not me). There just aren't enough anti-tank options to handle them.

I disagree. Work as a team and its easy to defeat. It can only self repair while its immobile. Also if a sniper uses the k bullets it halts the self repair temporarily. Plus there will be anti tank rockets in the final game so you can attack from a distance. Yes its a little OP in the beta but I had no trouble killing them with another person helping me.

The only time I get killed by them is when I spawn on a point and it puts me in the open with one close by.

agreed. players were going 47-0 last night (just one example) using the light tank. i'm sure DICE will tone it down.

the beta map is conducive to tanks, i think it will be better on maps with more cover. also like you say more anti-tank options would help.

FYI you can unlock the anti-tank rifle in the beta.

It's been addressed. A DICE dev tweeted that the light tank won't be a as powerful in the retail release.

The issue right now I think is that tanks require teamwork (as they should) to destroy, but people haven't unlocked a lot of the AT weapons and/or are still trying to solo the tanks.

Let's face it, a tank should be something infantry fears. If you're ill-equipped, you should seek cover and hide.

for the size of this map. there should be way more tanks, and faster respawn of tanks. a map like this in bf3 you would encounter more enemy tanks. instead, all you see is infantry most of the time. I don't think it should be nerfed. the fight needs to be more about tank vs tank. not tank vs infantry.

The light tank was a speed bump to my squads. Hell, I killed several solo with mines and a bit of good timing.

Three things are certain in life: Death, taxes, and every new Battlefield title attracting noob infantry players that complain they can't strongarm tanks and other vehicles easily. There's this pervasive COD mentality that infantry should be on equal footing with everything.

Vehicles and aircraft are valuable force multipliers that *should* require teamwork to take out.

That thing needs a super nerf, The turret needs to be slowed down tremendously. You should not be able to spin that thing around lightning quick 180 headshot no-scope style. It DOES NOT self heal, however it does have the ability for the engineer inside to repair it if they completely stop moving and hit X button. Other tanks and planes have this ability also. I think this capability needs to be removed completely and be reverted back to the previous standard of getting out of the vehicle to repair it.

I've been playing with the other unlocks/loadouts for it. I often go 50-0 with it. I hate to admit that I'm abusing it, but I'm hoping it will illicit a massive amount of complaints for DICE to fix it and I certainly don't like being on the receiving end of this little bastard. These things are like the Little Bird scourge of BF4.

The first loadout is ok. Main cannon and cannister shell. The main cannon has very limited range on splash damage and is sometimes hard to hit a soldier on the move. Reloads are still way too quick. You might get 1 kill per canister shot, but it still is a 1-shot kill.

The second unlock is an infantry nightmare. Auto cannon w/ splash damage and a secondary auto shotgun. If you are driving the tank with this loadout, all you need to do is stay just out of grenade range and just keep firing the main gun. Sit at a choke point and just rain hell. They need to fix the auto-cannon to fire slower, reload slower and to have less rounds in its magazine. I can often times get 2-3 kills per magazine of 15 shells, and 3 seconds later I have 15 more shots. It's insane.

The third unlock is a howitzer cannon. I haven't played around with it too much, but it is an anti-tank nightmare. It has a huge arcing shot which is a bit difficult to aim at first but can be overcome. Since the light tank moves quickly and has high turret speed, you can easily outgun a landship like the MarkV and A7V simply by driving around it. This should not be so easy to do with this tank.

Thank goodness. I don't want the little bird scourge like there was in BF4. There's a difference between a tank that is to be feared, and one that is so OP it disrupts gameplay.

When I play the light tank, I've had TEAMS of people trying to take my tank out, so people are working together to deal with it. The tank can drive out of the way of AT grenades too quickly (more of a problem with the grenades than the tank), can retreat too quickly, and even repair too quickly.

The AT rifle should make swiss cheese of this thing, but I've had guys take 5 or more shots to take it out. 5 shots makes sense for a landship, but not this tin can on treads.

I agree. They should make you get out to repair it, but I also think the repair speed needs to be toned down tremendously. You can repair almost 3x by the time a player respawns, which is pretty much about the damage one person does. Plus, if you're seriously hurt, they move fast enough that you can be out of range. Also, being able to repair in the vehicle adds to invincible tanks, invincible panes, etc. with any semi competent players.

I didn't even bother with DX12. :)

Overall... I think they could have picked a better map. Never liked desert maps personally. Maybe when it hits $30-40. $60 is steep with the impending DLC.
