New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

whole or non-fat?

I Keeed, I keeed! Really nice looking!
Nah, Bishop blood.... = P

Roger that- mine is gaming formost, but spens more hours folding than anything else so I split the difference. And waiting to see benchmarks on the latest from both sides for an excuse to upgrade!

Nice! I am surprised how nice the Riings are- I stumbled into a bunch of the cheap at Fry's and they (white) are the only light in my case...

I'm a fan of them. Although, they get VERY noisy when they get outside the low-end of the PWM range. If you've ever heard a 3-phase motor single-phase, it's pretty similar.

Yep, but midrange they are pretty quiet. I had some GT's in the case at the same time, and I think they might be quieter, but they also cost twice as much, with mundane looks.

Tt x71. 900D ripoff. It's a cheap fucking POS, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I thibk it looks really nice though.

time to say addios to the trusty old 5ghz fx 9370 rig. as of yesterday the sabertooth wouldn't hold onto the overclock anymore. will only run the cpu at stock speed. thanks buddy. fun while it lasted.

Here is my latest build.

That is some of the best tube/routing I've seen, and an impressive unorthodox reservoir location. Very nice job!

I don't think my reservoir would fit there in my rig when I start putting my loop together next week (Still waiting for the last part, grrr) but it definitely gives me some ideas to think about.

Yes kudos on the green machine. ;) I am loving these new Thermaltake cases too!

Well, my first custom water cooling build is finally done.

Nothing like the pieces of art some of you have posted in here. I was really just after lower temps and a quieter machine:

Since my case is sandwiched between a desk and the wall when I use it, I can't look in through the case window, so I stuck a little USB webcam in there so I can monitor water levels :p

With this monstrous reservoir, I doubt they will become an issue any time soon though.

Thanks! I was pretty happy with how the color came out. Mayhem's Ice White base, and then I just kept adding drops of their non-stain blue dye until I got the right color.

I've been eyeballing those pump/res units from Monsoon. You happy with them?

Very happy...The new Monsoon stuff seems rock solid. It's heavy enough you could use it as a weapon. They have a billion different configuration options as well. Just make sure you double-check all the needed parts, since you have to order them all separately.

Nice job on the color matching. What rad is that in the front of the case? Is that a custom texture?

i think its what hardware labs calls 'dark matter' texturing for their black ice nemesis rads.

Dead right. It looks really nice in person. I may swap that one out for an Alphacool in the future though, just to match the one in the top. (and because the Alpha has a drain port in the bottom)

Doesn't void the warranty to remove the cooler.
Not according to sapphire (whose gpu I purchased):

  1. The limited warranty does not cover products that the user has disassembled. GPU or ASIC devices (VGA) are sensitive to thermal (heat) issues. The heat sink has been designed to meet the requirements to ensure reliability of the product. Any warranty is rendered invalid if the product has been dismantled or the heat sink has been removed as this may cause damage to the GPU or ASIC device. Non-compliance will cause the warranty of the product to be void and repair will be at the users cost.
Now, I'm sure I could get away with it if I put the original cooler back on, any damage wasn't attributed to heat, and there were no signs of modification, but thats not super easy when you have to glue/epoxy heatsinks to the VRMs. Anyway, not the right thread for this discussion.

It's illegal. They have to prove that what you did caused a failure. Reference the Magnuson-Moss Act

Only if they void the warranty without proof that it was caused by the replacement part or improper installation thereof. Still, good to know.

The problem is that support probably don't know or care, neither does Sapphire for that matter. They'll go ahead and void the warranty and the problem then is that it's up to the consumer to fight it. Even though the MM Act is on the consumers side, it's not a slam dunk.

Just be careful and don't leave any marks, damage etc. It's best to err on the safe side, and refer to the end game above.

It's technically illegal for them to void the warranty just because you removed the cooler or serviced it yourself due tot he U.S. Moss Magnussen Warranty Act.

In order to refuse a warranty claim legally they would have to show that in the process of doing so, you did the damage that resulted in it not working. Those "warranty void if removed" warnings are really only put there for a combination of non-us markets that lack this protection, and as a scare tactic to get people to not fight refused warranties, or not file for them in the first place.

That being said, the problem is that it is a civil matter not a criminal one, so if they did wind up refusing to over your warranty solely because you removed the cooler, you would have to sue them, which can get expensive in a real hurry, and at the very least is very time consuming.

OTOH, it's federal law, so if you win they may have to pay court costs. In any case, I'm talking to a sapphire tech right now vie email. I mentioned the MM Act and their warranty to their RMA team, who forwarded me to their tech department, who asked if I planned to replace the cooler and with what. I told the rep what I was considering (GPU-220 + a custom vrm solution), I'll update this post once I get a reply.
Edit, the reply:

Here is the deal, if the card happens to have permanent modification that cannot return the card back to its production product spec stage, it will be consider void of warranty. If it's a simple modification that is just remove the fan and replacing it with another unit, as long as the card does not have missing parts from the original fan or permanent altercation to the card we will accept RMA. Hope that answers your questions.
