The PC system specs for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided have been posted on Steam. Overall the system requirements look pretty mild. Preloading will begin on Friday, August 19th at 9:00AM PDT. PC system specifications are as follows:

Minimum:
  • OS: Windows 7.1SP1 or above (64-bit Operating System Required)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB)
  • HDD/SSD: 45 GB

Recommended:
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K or AMD FX 8350 Wraith
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 480 - 1920 x 1080 or NVIDIA GTX 970 - 1920 x 1080
  • HDD/SSD: 55GB (Including DLC)

I guess they are fairly minimal. Looking at computers that a normal family would buy at bestbuy; you have an i3 comp with igpu for around 400, i5 8gb w igpu for 649, i5 8gb 1tb sshd gt 730 for 799 or i5 8gb ssd + hdd gtx 970 for 999. Thats a new one since they started selling the rift.

Guess which one is the most popular?

What I think you were saying though is, I had hoped for a pure PC game that required a 970 and recommended a 1070. Me too! Who knows how the DX12 dialogue fits in, maybe it's dropped reqs.

The problem with saying a 970 is required is then the internet will sperg out and start accusing the developers of making an unoptimized game and whatnot. Bad PR comes from it and then word of mouth spreads that it's a bad game even before people get their hands on it. Because of people like this system requirements are a political aspect of game advertising that has to be treaded carefully.

Apparently I live under a rock, i've never really heard that before I game has come out . Now, after-the-fact sure that makes sense.

Last game was excellent, am anxious to see how this one plays.

A day one purchase for me.

The specs make sense. The last game wasn't a graphical powerhouse, and since they are using the same tech for the sequel it probably won't be either. That being said, I hope it is good because I loved the last one.

So, if a GTX 970 is sufficient for 1080p, I'm guessing my Pascal Titan X should do just fine at 4k :p

Yep. It was a perfect example of that great graphics aren't what makes a great game.

They don't hurt, but if the game isn't enjoyable with mediocre graphics, pumping up the graphics won't make it any more so.

All the games I have the most hours in in Steam were games that weren't stellar in the graphics department, even when they launched.

The game I am playing right now, Hyper Light Drifter, could probably run on an iPhone 4, but it is great! It is awesome when a Kickstarter game pans out.

The specs are probably for cinematic 24 FPS, though, so you'll probably only get 60 FPS at 4K. :ROFLMAO:

Meh, I consider framerates above 60fps to be in "placebo" territory anyway, ESPECIALLY in a single player story driven RPG FPS.

I'm currently playing through Fallout New Vegas for the first time. Graphics are ancient (to the point where synced at 60fps on and 4k, it has downclocked to its minimum 1200mhz, and the default fan profile has it at 0rpm in a 74F ambient room).

Still a great, very enjoyable game thus far though.

I've considered adding some mods to juice up the appearance, but I got lost in the dizzying array of mods over at Nexus, and I'm now thinking, maybe it's just better to get the original flavor, at least during the first play-through.

Yeah I loved New Vegas when I first started playing, but then it committed the unforgivable the sin, it corrupted all my saved games. I am sure that bug is fixed by now, but it is hard for me to give up the 30 hours I already put in to it, and I thought I would be okay since I had like 12 saves, but they all died. :(

Hmm. Maybe I should make backups of my save files just in case...

Skip day one. Wait for patch one. Then you can pay just as much but play with fewer bugs.

DX:HR was not at all buggy, if I recall.
I just loaded it up and played away. I think it was even NVidia Surround compatable from the jump.
This game should play well right out of the box as well.

Square Enix's PC ports have been really good lately, but I still think it is worth waiting a day just to make sure.

I don't NEED to play the game on day one that badly. What's the harm in waiting a week or two? It's not going to get any more expensive.

Ditto.

I didn't even buy DX:HR until a year or so after release, on sale on Steam. I was excited about it when I heard of it, but I had other shit going on in my life at that time.

The wise old 1%'ers who did not fall for the "free" downgrade to 10.

Deus Ex is looking good.

There is a DX 12 code path in this game and it could prove to interesting especially for RX 480 owners. In any case I expect this game to receive a lot of DX 11/12 benchmark comparisons.

Excellent game! I recommend playing it on a TV with frame interpolation. Since the game is locked to 30, this makes it a lot more smooth, and at least on my TV it didn't add too much latency to make the controls feel sloppy. It felt spot-on.

Just went a couple pages into the comments in the Steam post in the OP. Denuvo FUD sure has spread far and wide.

The tantruming, salty tears of millennials that can't pirate Denuvo-protected games = my bidet.

The old "everything will be cracked eventually so why do they even bother LOL" line is getting tougher and more pointless for them each year Denuvo remains uncracked. Love it.

Game companies really need to start thinking about game compression before/after install. These sizes are getting outrageous (Quantum Break). GTA 5 is pretty close also with 65-66GB after updates.
