100$ budget. Best air cooler for 6800k oc?

What is the best air cooler my 100$ can buy for a 4000mhz oc on a 6800k?

Anything hands down must have at 100$ or less?
 
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Only $30 and it should still do an awesome job. Comes with 1 fan and brackets to mount a second if you want.
 
I second the reeven justice. if its availability comes even close to that of the 212evo, ie on local shelves not just online, that will become the new go-to cooler.
 
A $100 budget is enough for a good AIO watercooler. Air coolers will cost about half that.
 
Cryorig R1 Ultimate, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Noctua NH-D14/D15, ThermalRight SilverArrow SB-E/IB-E are the best air coolers money can buy.. Personally I would just go with a Cryorig R1 Ultimate, depending on the memory desired to use the Noctua NH-D15 may be the one to pick.

Sure it also is top on one of my most recommended coolers lately, but the OP stated Air Coolers..
 
I have the Cryorig R1 and it works well, just as good as any of the AIOs. The CPU (6800k) idles at room temperature and rarely goes over 50C at load overclocked. But I wish I saw reviews for the Reeven Justice 120mm. It seems to be the best bang for the buck. The Cryorig R1 was not cheap.
 
To me a big question is the case being used. In other words for large full size cases the bigger dual tower 140mm coolers seem like a good fit but for mid size cases, i personally wouldn't use anything bigger than the 120mm Reeven justice.
 
I'm going to disagree and recommend the Noctua NH-C14S which I've been using in 2 builds for the past few months. For me, the horizontal design seems to provide better cooling for the area around the CPU, especially with the fan mounted on the bottom of the cooler and blowing upward. Plus that huge 140mm fan provides a greater area of coverage and its quiet.

lol, that's almost a low profile cooler.. a totally different lower league than the big boys.. and all that cooling it's certainly required for the big S2011-V3 chips specially overclocked..

I dunno, the c14 isn't bad compared to the r1 ultimate...don't know how much better or worse it is compared to the c14s, though. I imagine if you plopped another fan on it it'd be comparable.

Its beats the Justice by 5 degrees cooler on idle but the Justice is 7 degrees cooler on full load? Its funny how that works out!:)

I bet its because of the baseplate design. the r1 dissipates better with low airflow but the justice cools better threw the fins and pipes.
I'm tempted to upgrade to this over getting an aio but I cannot get it locally.
 
doz - That's courtesy of the superior fans (A14 vs P12/P14). eHume of Overclockers has verified this with testing:

Compare the dual A14 results on the D15 vs the D14. Obviously with the D14 and D15 models, you are somewhat limited in your placement of the 140mm fans, if you don't have low profile RAM. Something I'll have to address whenever I upgrade. It'll probably still be a while until I really have to upgrade my CPU honestly :p
 
I am looking at the NH-D15s for being offset on the new boards.
 
I know you said air, but there is a great deal on a closed loop 240mm rad cooler at $70 - just in case it might work. I love my corsair h110i GTX and got an extra ~500 MHz out of my over clock on it as compared to the 212 EVO which was heat saturated in prime 95 stress testing quickly in my setup.

According to that chart above - this closed loop cooler is the real deal.
