Anyone have any experience with this? I'm getting a lot of conflicting info when researching.

Apparently with the DK2, you could do the DSR option in the Nvidia Control Panel and it would work, but that might not work on the CV1. There's now a debug tool from Oculus where you can set the pixel density, but that might only work for games launched through Oculus Home.

Specifically I'm trying to get this to work with Project Cars through Steam, so if anyone has done that and can spell out the steps for me, I'd appreciate it. If I manage to figure it out I'll post my findings here.

I'd like to know as well although I'm still trying to figure out what settings to run in general for the best VR experience as Project Cars, so far, has been the only game to make me feel a bit green while playing. I have no problem with Eve: Valkyrie, Dirt Rally, Elite, or anything else I've tried.

Does Project Cars use SteamVR for the Oculus version as well? If so, you should be able to use SteamVR's native supersampling. Hopefully you have a 1080 if you want to try it, since even 1.2 SS slaughters my 980ti. Make sure you use a rain-to-clear weather setting for testing.

Yeah, I can only handle 30-45 minutes of PCars at a time. I don't really feel sick but it's really intense. Still a lot of fun though.

Is this the setting you're referring to?

In the launch menu it's called 'OtherVR', so I'm not sure. I have a 980 Ti as well but if it makes a noticeable difference a 1080 might be in the works.

So I guess there's an in-game setting for this under AA, options being DS2X, DS2M, DS4X, etc. I set it to DS4X and it looks noticeably better. Runs fine too. I tried all the other options, NVCP, the INI file, the Oculus tool, and I honestly couldn't tell if they were doing anything.

I'd also recommend Dirt Rally for anyone that enjoys PCars. I'm awful at it so far but it looks and runs better than PCars and it's a much different driving experience.

I wonder if this would work with my gear vr that i run games through using riftcat...I'll try this and report back if anyone is interested

Tried that, it didn't seem to do anything. I think it might only work for games launched through Oculus Home which wasn't the case here.

It should work with everything. Does your framerate drop when you crank things up to 2?

Not sure. Is there an option in that debug program to show FPS within the headset?

I've got a 1080 coming Friday and I'll try it again, maybe I just need to turn it up higher to notice anything.

It should be obvious when it happens. How high are you setting it?

I track framerate using Rivatuner.

It works for me. Make sure you open the dev tool first, then Oculus home. I noted significant frame drops (some games unplayable) on certain titles when using the 2.0 setting. Unfortunately I have only tried with games launched through Oculus home.

I shall try again Friday. Are you guys opening Oculus Home through File>Launch App in the debug tool? Do I then need to do Project Cars that same way? Or is it not needed at all?

1080 came early :) Still can't see any difference with the debug tool :(

Maybe my eyes are broke or it's not apparent in the games I'm trying... I only have Project Cars and Dirt Rally installed right now. I think I'll stick with the in-game AA options and mess around with this again some other day when I have something else to try it on.
