I gotta be honest, I laughed when I saw this game supports windows ME and 2000. I can't believe they are still making expansions.

I will probably buy it. Play it for a month maybe two. If that's the case 40$ plus 15$ for the month isn't bad considering the use I will get out of it. But I have become extremely bored with wow and haven't played in 7 months.

Not bad, but you'd lose out on Demon Hunt early access if you care about that at all.

explain what this is please.
A few weeks before the expansion those with early access can begin a Demon Hunter class character who start at level 98 and can get going on their storyline which will then lead into the 100 - 110 leveling once the expansion releases.

Preordering directly through Blizzard will let you play the new Demon Hunter class for a few weeks before Legion actually launches. If you order through Amazon, you won't get your game/key until launch day, so you lose out on the early access.

Yea most people eventually become bored of games that are 12 years old. This has to be the most successful video game of all time.

New changes are kind of neat, but it's hard to say from an overall perspective. I've only spent a limited time in Beta. Not sure why they chose to increase expansions by $10 AND shorten the life spans. Doesn't make much sense.

Also, RIP Garrison/Shipyard Gold missions.

Yea, sad that there is no Gold Factory anymore. At least now you don't have to pay gold to respec since everything has changed a lot. Talent and ability trimming is always a weird adjustment when they make large sweeping changes.

Does it have to be the demon hunter only, or can i play my druid or mage in the early access?

Also, not to hijack your thread OP, but i found it a touch cheaper on CDKeys at $32 bucks US. Certainly not as reliable as Amazon, but i've not had an issue with them before. YMMV.

Cheers.

however no more Glyhps.. and overall character "balance" they call Balance I call it nerfed (specially badly for feral druids).

Now is even slower and harder to farm gold at mogu'shan.. certainly this will make to stay a away from this game from a long time.... not even interested in the DH.

Glyphs are still there, firey charge, cheetah druid travel form and others but they are limited to spell modification. Yea, the feral nerf hurts. I haven't purchased the expansion yet and this pre-expansion patch isn't helping.

I haven't played in a while, but if they were anything like they were last year, they needed a bloody nerf. Are rogues still useless?

I ran a quick 5 man healing and I heard talk about a buccaneer style pirate rogue spec. So....

My friend still plays religiously, and says that his rogue is "melting faces". Although, I forgot what spec he said that he was running.

Rogues are abysmal right now but look good when they get to the new level cap. Ferals are in an odd place really. I used to main one in MoP but I havent played it in a while, just seemed annoying. They fixed Balance though, to the point it's actually fun.

Ferals are in a sad spot right now. I'm not enjoying it at all. I might be going Shaman main for a while after running thru all my healers to check out the changes.

I think I have a level 100 Blood DK and 92-ish Beastmaster Hunter. Anyone know how those two are going to be in this thing? I might pick it up just to have something to do.

I mean my main issue with the game is that it was incredibly hard to find a guild that actually fit me because their stupid guild finder included craptons of dead guilds... which made it nigh useless. Not to mention it was incredibly hard for GM's to see your application even exists. Since I didn't want to queue with randoms since I had literally 0 raiding experience in any WoW expansion ever, I just stopped playing at that point. Otherwise all that was left to do was sit in my Garrison and clown around making money. I mean I don't know to me the community just felt dead. There were plenty of players, but it was hollow. Volume with no density.

The thing people seem to forget with every pre expansion patch is that things are now tuned for the UPCOMING level cap. So shit is really wonky right now in terms of balance but like always once people hit the new level cap it all makes more sense and balances out.

For example Feral is in a shitty spot right now but on the PTR at level cap they are really solid.

They give us this time to get used to the changes before the expansion goes live and so many people ignorantly stick to the tunnel vision and ignore the big picture complaining about how crappy their class is right now. Its really annoying to see this every single expansion. Use common sense and look at the bigger picture.

I main a rogue and I actually love Outlaw. It's fairly decent @ Level 100, however it suffers horrible RNG from Roll The Bones finishing move which grants you different buffs randomly. You have 100% chance to to get at least one buff and you can get up to 6 at a time which happens very very rarely, but also 2-3 at a time pretty frequently. If you do get all 6 buffs, expect your DPS to skyrocket, especially with cooldowns. If you get shitty rolls or wrong buffs at the wrong time, expect to plummet in damage. But overall Pistol Shot adds a nice slow mob/range attack that builds CP so you can at least build CP at range. Although I sorely miss Burst of Speed (it was a little OP, Grappling Hook is awesome but with that and Sprint on a ~50s-1m cooldown, if both are down you're gonna be slow as molasses). Assassination is a great spec too for single target/multi-cleave focused more on bleeds now instead of poisons and I also see some people have success with Subtlety.

Healing definitely feels a lot "slower" but again, probably tuned around Artifacts and Talents @ Level 110. Seems like all healing classes have a single regular heal, single fast heal, group heal, then some sort of bomb heal on cooldown or increase in healing buff for spikes along with raid cooldowns. I was enjoying Mistweaver and Holy Healing. Holy healing felt really fun, lots of burst heal potential for single and group healing.

Tanking is definitely a lot weirder. It's a lot harder to self sustain your HP/active mitigation, again, maybe a tuning things for lower levels. Bears finally got a magic dmg reduction mitigation choice (yay!) as well as +armor and frenzied regen to help manage different damage at different times.

Interesting, I've always wanted to go back to Feral. I disliked Balance in WoD, and played Feral/Gaurdian in WoTLK and loved it but didn't spend much time in WoD with either. Also, asking people to use common sense in WoW is laughable. It's amazing how many people I see get to max level and have pretty decent gear that still refuse to learn their class or mechanics. It's like there's websites that you can read in 5 minutes to figure these things out. COME ON

I was going to pre-order the digital deluxe so i can try out Demon Hunter but i found out you can't play DH until mid Aug.

CD key is the frickin best lol. Just bought GTA V for 29 bucks. Can't beat that. Just cause 3 is 16 dollars there as well. I wanted gta for a bit but I never like paying 60 bucks for a game, and this is the cheapest I have seen it even on CD keys.

Balance now is 100000% different than MoP/WoD, and is pretty straightforward and enjoyable now. No more eclipses. Simply Sunfire, Moonfire, Stellar Flare (new talent) as dots, Solar Wrath for single target, Lunar Strike for multiples, StarSurge to dump your resources.

It is. Even with their plummeting subscription numbers, Blizzard has to be making at least $1 Billion a year from this annually.

Half-Life 2 came out a week before WoW... Damn. And we're still waiting for HL3 or at least HL2 Ep3.

Interestingly enough, I just started playing WoW and am enjoying the hell out of it. My sister and I decided to start together and I'm surprised that she is also enjoying it, being more into platformer and music games. I didn't think I'd say this in a million years, but I am actually going to sub WoW and buy the new expansion now...

Whats really funny is when all the doom and gloom folks go on about how wow is dead when the reality is at its absolute lowest its still the most successful MMO of all time...

True. And they'll get more and more subscribers again when Legion is released. A lot of old players are hyped again.

This coming expansion is the 6th expansion. Every expansion has brought with it substantial improvements to the game (including the game engine), and additional content typically in the form of an entire new continent to explore and play. System requirements have gone up every time. Most of the computers people used when WoW first came out wouldn't even run the game today.

It's really not that much different than something like a new GTA or Battlefield game, where each "new" game is just a slightly updated version of the same game engine with new content sprinkled on top.

How can anyone ever be hyped again after the turdpile that was WoD?

They went into the half-assed money milking phase years ago.

Soooo true, i still have a bad taste in my mouth from WoD. Initially it was good and then that small amount of content dried up, with little to no content updates following that. Not going to fall for it again.

Don't forget all the cut promised content like the ally base being Black Temple. Instead we got an uninspired capital city markedly worse than some vanilla WoW questing towns.
