Short Cut Key or alternate key used for Selective Start Up on a Sony VAIO Model PCG-71316L

I need to get into Selective Start up for someone Sony VAIO Model PCG-71316L, but F8 isn't working and I can't find an alternative to the F8 from any other source on the internet except garbage. Does anyone else know or can they help because I don't have the manual and I don't think I have the persons number or if the owner even knows if I did have their number.

If it's running 8.1 or W10, F8 doesn't work anymore. It should take you to the recovery menu automatically after 3 failed boot attempts. If the boot sector is damaged, you'll need install/recovery media to get to boot selection.

Thank you. It wouldn't boot to the operating system completely or is taking to long, so I can't tell what version of Windows it's running. It looks like 7, but it must not be if F8 isn't working. For some reason I thought it wasn't working because it is a Sony and most things are done kinda strange, like to enter the boot menu you have to press esc and del.
