Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core, GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V - System Build - PCPartPicker

i have already purchased the PSU on this list but haven't started building the machine yet.. just wanting to get some other opinions on whether or not it will be big enough. the only other things that will be in the case that aren't listed are a 7200rpm sata drive and a sata optical drive. oh, and 3-4 case fans, but i wouldn't think those would make a huge difference.

Should be plenty. The recommended wattage for the 970 is just 500, which is based on a system with i7, HDD and ODD.

Second that. Very often PC builds have overkill power supplies.

The power supply is large enough, though the EVGA G1s can't compare to the G2 and GS in terms of quality.

Agreed, i'm running something vaguely similar with a 450W PSU without any issues. (though granted it can get to like 250-300W at the wall under load)
Though in my case it's an overclocked 6600k and a GTX 970.

All the better. You got a PSU that can support an SLI/crossfire system that is also top notch in quality and power output.
