Scientists Are Teaching Robots How To Hunt Prey

I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to this kind of crap...but...don't scientist watch movies at all? Have you guys ever, and I mean EVER, watched a movie that has a happy ending after scientists teach robots how to hunt prey? The answer is "no."

A handful of scientists at the Institute of Neuroinformatics at the University of Zurich recently taught a robot to act like a predator and hunt its prey—which was a human-controlled robot—using a specialized camera and software that allowed the robot to essentially teach itself how to find its mark. The researchers aim to design software that would allow a robot to assess its environment and find a target in real time and space. If robots are ever going to make it out of the lab and into our daily lives, this is a skill they’re going to need.
 
First commercial deployments will go to american police dept, to replace the K9 and deployed on minorities neighborhoods first.
 
Wonder how long before the predator robot figures out that a human is controlling the prey robot and it will be easier to kill the human to make the prey robot stop?

If they want robots to track prey like predators do in the wild, they need robots that smell, and robots that lie in wait. Their robots need to know their prey's habits and behaviors. Eyes are not needed so much for tracking as for fixing your prey after you have positioned yourself.

Alligators wait along river banks, snakes along game trails leading to feeding or water locations, humans sit in deer blinds over looking oat fields, fence lines, watering holes. See, humans use the same methods as the others. After you have positioned yourself so that your prey will present itself, then you can attack and if you fail to bring down a wounded prey, track it by spore, blood, and sight.
 
If they start using robots on people, this makes a strong case for the 2nd Amendment. After all, you're only destroying inanimate objects, not people. In Surrogates (movie), there were people who didn't give a fuck about destroying robots and I'm sure that science fiction can become reality.
 
Go watch a British TV series called Humans.

I did really enjoy it. It was running on Amazon Prime.
 
So it appears it is time to start figuring out how to make emp bullets.

Off topic.. have always had a problem with this gif/video, which I have seen since last century. A larger and longer version of this with sound can be found on YT. I have always thought that isn't a real monitor!!

-He whacked it with his hand (seen in the YT video) and it moves a couple of inches but CRTs, even a 14/15 inch one, were heavy. Also, it probably had rubber pads on the swivel bottom to stop it from being moved easily which only would have worked if the CRT was heavy (thus REAL) but since I believe it was an empty monitor, easy to move when whacked at.
-End of the keyboard cord is just laying at the back of the desk not connected to the desktop CPU. Some say it was pulled as a prank on this guy and he doesn't notice that he now has a dead keyboard and takes out his frustration on the monitor.. but I don't think he could have done what he did to a REAL monitor. The monitor is probably 40+ lbs.. the keyboard a pound or so.. try whacking a CRT with a keyboard, even an IBM Model M.. doubt it moves at all!!
-Monitor has a cord coming from it but, after it comes off the desk, no cords from the back of the CPU get yanked or even stretched (none of them even move a little) even though the monitor rolls several feet away.
-Even before he whacked the monitor, it was perched very far back on the desktop. Again, dangerous for a heavy CRT to have so much weight so far back but it made it so much easier to have it fly off when he hit it with the keyboard.
-The face of the monitor is never seen.. in the YT video it actually starts with the guy staring at it at almost a 45 degree angle, not face on.. only after he whacked it does is he facing straight at it but we never see if it has a glass screen on it
-No breaking glass or really any damaging sounds from the monitor is heard when it falls or when he hits the front of the monitor, supposedly where the glass is, but no glass breaking sound is ever heard. And, again, since CRTs were heavy, I doubt it would have rolled a few feet away.. unless it wasn't a real monitor.. just my opinion.
