Acer Predator XB271HU - 27" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync IPS ULMB 144hz

If anyone cares the HDMI works at 1440p both with a Retina Macbook Pro 13" and a Windows box w/ a 980 Ti.
I also just tested the 980 Ti using an Accell B086B-003B-2 Displayport-HDMI adapter and it also came in at 1440p through the monitor on HDMI.
I am going to attempt to use the adapter on a Mac Pro as well since OS X doesn't like to do > 1080p over HDMI.

Still as good as it gets in the 16:9 range. Or trade a bit of color vibrancy for pixel response and zero IPS glow with Dell S2716DG or Asus PG278Q (I believe there is an Acer XB270HU with the TN panel as well, should be the same as the Dell and Asus.)

Tried the PG278Q and could not stand the shifting. IPS/VA all the way!
I've got my first monitor set up (the one I got from Microcenter). I'm pretty happy with it. No dust, stuck or dead pixels. I have very, very little BLB in the lower left corner. It's so minimal that I didn't notice it the first two times I checked it. On a white screen, I have quite bit of blue on the right edge of the screen, especially at the bottom. The biggest flaw in the monitor that I can see is that when there is a color on the screen (as opposed to white), the bottom-right corner appears pale. It looks like what the edges of the TN panel would look like. It kinda looks like glare, but it's not. If I move my head so my eyes are directly in front of that corner of the monitor, it goes away completely.
Overall, I'm very happy with this display.
Now it's time to install my other video card, and set up the other two. Hopefully, they will be as good as this one.

The second monitor has the same thing in the lower-right corner. It's got a spot of BLB in the upper-right. The third monitor has BLB in both of the right corners, and another spot in the upper-left. It also has two stuck pixels (red). They're very hard to find. I'll have to test things out in a dark environment to determine if I can live with the BLB. The color uniformity isn't great on these. The third monitor is the best, but it's also the bluest screen. The other two have pretty pronounced variation in color from left to right. I think it's fine for me as it's really only noticeable on a white screen, and when do you ever have a full white screen?

Overall, I'm very happy with this display.
Now it's time to install my other video card, and set up the other two. Hopefully, they will be as good as this one.

I returned both the pg279q and xb271hu for this reason - the inability to display pure whites. I guess the problem still persists. I see a full white screen all the time while browsing the internet. The fact that the top portion was like a urine yellow and the bottom was a pure white was a dealbreaker for me. I could not tolerate it, so had to return both monitors.
I must be super lucky. I got mine from Newegg a couple weeks ago. Minimal bleed, no uniformity issues (that i notice during everyday usage) and no noticeable color issues. It actually was pretty damned close to my calibrated Dell U2412m out of the box. A little on the warmer side.

what gpu are using with these monitors?
Two Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming 6Gb.
Thinking about getting this monitor but not really sure about the backlight bleed.
Saw a pretty good explanation here that basically this doesn't bug you that much in every day work but I'm fairly picky
Just a heads up don't trust those pictures as being an accurate representation of how it looks in person. A picture exaggerates backlight bleed and IPS glow. I have this monitor and a Dell U2715H side by side and they both look great.
Having said that this picture is accurate in that you do have that yellowish glow on the top right and bottom right (at least I have it on mine) but its no where near as bad as those pictures and I can only barely notice it when I look for it on pitch black images.
Originally I was planning on waiting till Star Citizen to come out to upgrade my GPU and monitor. I had a GTX 770 and Dell 20" Ultrasharp. After playing The Division open beta a couple weeks ago, I knew I couldn't wait.
My plan has been to upgrade to a 1440p gync monitor, but was clueless as to which one given all the problems I've read about with the IPS lottery. I was tempted to settle for a TN monitor like the Dell, but chose to gamble.
After reading that many people are having good luck with the XB271HU, I headed to Microcenter yesterday and picked one up. I have paired it with a GTX 980 Ti and it's glorious.
No dead pixels or dust that I can see. There is some black light bleed, but not significant. If it wasn't for these forums, I'd probably would have never noticed it to begin with.
Going from 1680x1050 to 2560x1440, high refresh rate and gsync is just amazing. The Division goes live in a couple hours and I can't wait.

i was going to get the XB271HU and take advantage of the 20% off with microcenter but they were out of stock, they had 2 brand new models of the ASUS PG279Q and went with that. F'in beautiful screens
Hi all. After I've tested this monitor (with a purple spot) and the Asus PG279Q (the second because the first had the typical BLB), I think the Asus has better look than the Acer. Plastics, buttons, OSD and fastening.
In relation to uniformity (although I forgive the purple spot), I feel the Asus has also better result than the Acer. It could be possible because I think I've won the Asus lottery with my unit (replacement unit, I remind) and my Acer is only the result of bad luck.
The chance of could request a replacement unit also for the Acer (and not only request the refund) intrigues me. Because the Acer should have better uniformity and less BLB than the Asus according to the majority of opinions. However the feeling with the plastics and buttons cause me doubt about request a replacement unit or the refund.
I would like share with you a few photos about my experiment. When I reach 3 post I'll do it.

The uniformity between them all is pretty amazing.
This is one demanding setup. Pascal cannot come soon enough!
This may be a dumb question, but how did you eliminate the bottom bezels from effecting the multi display portrait setup?

In one of the other pictures I think there's some overlap - think like fan blades, each display is not flush with each other.
Ugh. One of my monitors went bad last weekend. Windows will stop seeing it every once in a while. It causes all of my screens to go black for about 2 seconds and sometimes they all come back on, sometimes not. I'm talking to the Acer tech on the phone. He wants to know what kind of cable I'm using. He says, "DVI? HDMI? VGA?" I say, "No. I'm using DisplayPort." He doesn't understand, and apparently has never heard of DisplayPort. I had to direct him to Acer's web page on this monitor to get him to understand. LOL.

It never ceases to amaze me that people representing a product have no idea about said product.
Yeah. No kidding.
No sooner I got off the phone with the guy and my problem went away. I'm beginning to suspect it's the cables. Yesterday I cleaned my displays and just that little wiggling of the monitors caused two of them to go amber (the LED) on me. I ordered some DisplayPort certified cables. We'll see if they help, though I've always had great success with monoprice cables in the past. <shurgs> We'll see.
