So the hot topic of the day is "how much does Kyle hate AMD?" Well, the truth of the matter is that none of us at [H] hate AMD. I know, I know, that may be disappointing to anyone looking for controversy but that's just the way it is. In fact, not too long ago, we were accused of being "AMD fanboys" after this video hit the internet. At the end of the day, we will do what we always do, evaluate hardware based on its merits, give you our thoughts and opinions and let you decide what is right for you. And yes, Kyle even writes scathing editorials from time to time that gets folks all riled up. I have been trying to get him to stop that but he can be a dick sometimes. :D

To be fair, we can't blame reddit for one guy that likes to make stuff up. I read those quotes and was like "when the hell did Kyle say that?!?!" ;)
Lets not foget that Kyle said it was slower than a 950, hotter than a 390x, and cant clock over 1300mhz. There is already a meme, so its effectively written in stone now ;)

This is all part of the cover up. We're on to you so called "Hard OCP" if that is your real name.

We're on to your lizard-man overlords too!

It is on Reddit so it must be true ;) .

Kyle Bennett is MAD. "AMD GPU Stack is about to collapse" • /r/Amd

Is this not true? These are the claims Kyle have made so far about AMD/Polaris..

  1. "Polaris can not reach 850MHz" <- Though I think the wording may have been, can't get above 850mhz.
  2. "Polaris delayed to october"
  3. "Polaris is very hot"
  4. "Polaris stack is about to collapse"
#1 to #3 is proven to be wrong. For #4, we can wait a week to see how it turns out. But $199 and $229 RX 480 looks impressive for the price.

You all laugh but a lot of people with lips not stuck to Kyle's ass are getting sick of this crap. Like he's mentioned to many of us on this forum himself, take it offline or pm and work it out. I'd like to discuss AMD products here without having to put up with snide comments or anti AMD posts spammed in every thread from his devoted followers. I'd like you guys to have a professional relationship with AMD, but that has to work both ways. I don't care who started it, lets just move on. Steve, thanks for giving us a platform to vent a little about it.

i been rooting for amd, keep doing so but its like they want to be bankrupt. i find that they are (amd)wrong with the anti free speech, and the h reviews have been realistic. For mid spec folks like me, amd has always been a good deal. however if they do not give hardware to the folks i enjoy reading for honest reviews, i will be hesitant due to lack of trust to buy from amd. amd needs to make amends since its not just kyle but a whole community. im rooting for amd but feel like its a lost cause.

I stay away from reddit.

There wrong :) all counts :) I did use a wink didn't I ?

Maybe certain parts of reddit has its use but the gossip stuff , no thanks.

just star wars and game of thrones for me. most of reddit is cruel dipsits like ign that make online communities a turd or full of illegal activity such as cheap pirated licenses.

I never thought my red/green colorblindness was ever gonna have a good side. Can't fly a plane, gotta have a license restriction on my drivers license, can't get near the resisitors on the circuit board with out an ohm meter & heaven forbid I ever need to run some Ethernet!! But it has allowed me to own both video card vendors without prejudice!! Each vendor has its' good points and bad points and they trade off every few years. Getting butthurt over words in the wind about 1 brand or another is retarded. Projecting that onto someone else is heresy. Not much point of having a race if Chevy is going to win every one of them is it?

Kyle used to be positive towards AMD (he even had 290x units in his personal system I think), he went lukewarm with the fury x, and turned sour with the nano. It's been downhill since then.

top end performance domination/enhancement or gtfo is the attitude

More reddit fodder.

It's like you guys are trying to make /r/AMD headlines. Oh wait. :ROFLMAO:

Kyle hates AMD so much he buy's their stock and sells it at a discount below market value to try to tank the stack. :p

Seems to me that the one making the assertions that Kyle said something should be able to provide evidence of said quotes. That last quote is the one that I can point to where it came from, but it is a lazy and inaccurate paraphrase at best. Surely if you are going to continue making claims about things Kyle has said, you have evidence to back up your assertions. Right?

Seems like Kyle has been fair and continues to be fair in his analysis. AMD management has shit the bed and he states statistically based opinions while AMD reacts like a start-up. I didn't see any AMD "fanboy" in this interview - just stating the facts as they were at the time.

The whole Fanboyism is so odd to me.

There's no room for logic and impartiality here! What are you doing!

Just because you love something does not mean you cant get mad at it. We all say shit we shouldn't. Who cares? After my wife makes me mad and I say something evil, I then apologize and we move on. And she does the same with me. Is the whole country turning into a bunch of butt hurt whiney babies?

All I can say is that I stepped from behind the lurker curtain to show my support for the guys here at The [H]. Rock on.

lol this just doesn't wanna die :D
ii think all this started during the kinky time Kyle had with raja in bed, roleplay style :
raja : talk dirty to me
kyle : i will show you dirty tomorrow , stay tuned on hardOCP
and we all know the rest, some SM shiet we were all part of, they both lay naked in bed while twisting each others nipples, and reading our posts to turn them on.
you think it's a coincidence they both have a stache :pompous:

What always bothered me was the dead silence when it came to the issue of the Gameworks blackbox and effect it had on AMD hardware. The facts where there but nothing was even said here as though it did not matter.

why bring nvidia into it, edit fast before you start a riot :D

Does that comment about Crossfire being a superior experience than SLI still hold true or are they about equal now (given there aren't any bugs to contend with either way)? I've never used either one.

I'd argue that you SHOULD get mad at the things you like. The whole idea of "you can't both like something and be critical of it" is fucking insane. I'm often a lot more critical of companies I like because I want them to do well and them screwing up means they're not giving me products that I'd actually want to buy. If you care about something and want it to do well then you can't ignore it's faults and pretend everything is perfect. Nothing will ever improve if you ignore faults.

Its AMDs fault, obviously :p They should make cards that can run gameworks better :p

edit: /s

AMD has been shit lately, like really shit, they are barely bringing in any competition as it is. The fact that Nvidia can slap a $100 price premium on their reference cards just because and still sell like hotcakes is just a slap in the face to AMD and consumers. AMD needs a wake up call and Kyle is trying to give it to them.

I don't think Kyle hates AMD. He just says it how it is. Might be blunt, people might not like it. But Kyle is Kyle.

Maybe Kyle just doesn't like everyone equally the same.

I don't give a rat's ass if he does or not hate AMD that's entirely irrelevant, the only thing to take from this series of events is that Kyle sounds a lot like a spiteful ex-girlfriend talking shit about the boyfriend that dumped her to anyone that will read/listen.

Out of all this there is ONLY ONE thing that matters: The fact that [H] is not going to be invited to any AMD events from now on. It's time to accept that and begin to move on. Attempting to continue the highschool level drama with "articles" like this one is irrelevant to that fact.

This is an enthusiast web site.. or did I read that wrong?

To be honest. Its like the more you talk to kyle in forums the more you know him. I thought he hated amd too from some of his comments. But I think thats just the way he talks, lol.

For example I don't write the way I am. I am usually nicer on paper more careful, thats just the way I am. Think, process and then write. But if you met me in person the more you know me you will get everything straight up, no frills. lol

Kyle on the other hand is what he is, same in person and same on paper. I think thats just his personality. Dominant in person and dominant in writing. But definitely good at heart and chill I bet!

Even though things are said in forums and what not, but when I asked him for help and quoted him about new forum layout and search features he went out of his way to quote me back and attached a screenshot of the new search feature in forums.

I really fuckin appreciated that, I wasn't expecting it. But it's the little things that people do that show their character.

I said thanks bro! He said no problem brother! Bam!! now we can talk all the shit we want! throw beers at each other, no [H] feelings!

AMD has sold like shit... But based strictly on performance they have not done bad...

Their last generation was a marketing flop, but was not bad at all...

-2 out of 3 of AMDs top chips were actually new, the Fiji and Tonga, yet talk was all about 're-brand-gate'
-$600+ was dominated by nVidia, obiously.
-$400-$550 - AMD had the better selections with the faster Fury or cheaper 390x
-$300-$350 - AMD had the slightly/debatably better card with the 390
-$200-$250 - AMD had the better card with the 380x, and the 380 was priced slightly better than the 960 at equal performance
-$100-$150 - nVidias 950 beat the 370, but AMDs 360 beat the 750ti
-Mini-ITX - AMD had the Nano and 380 and nVidia had the 970 and 960, AMDs advantage imo.
-Low-Pro/Pow- nVidia won this with the low-pro 750ti and low-power 950

Point being... With the right card Branding (make the Fury the 390 and shift the rest down) and Marketing, as well as a decently timed release, the 300 series wouldnt have been the flop it became... But, perception dictates reality, and their horrible branding, marketing and image reflected in their sales volume (hence why I like to combat FUD when I see it)...

I think a lot of it has to do with people simply not used to someone being so blunt about things. We're taught to always be nice or keep our mouths shut if we don't have anything nice to say, we're expected to constantly be polite. So when you talk to someone that is incredibly blunt it's a shock to a lot of people. Combine that with how easy it is to misread emotion in text and it can create a false impression of a person and their intentions.

Edit cause I thought of more to add: On top of that most of us here are enthusiasts, we love our hardware and have a lot of pride in our systems. It means our emotional reactions towards things relating to hardware can be a bit more extreme than what other people would have in our shoes.
