Like the cake, needing the new SLI HB bridge for 4k@60 is a lie

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI Review

Value and Conclusion
When you look online for guidance on SLI HB, you will find forums full of people claiming that you must absolutely use a high-bandwidth bridge with Pascal or performance will suffer. We took a special look at that, comparing performance of the classic SLI bridge with the HB bridge at up to 4K60Hz, and there is no significant difference in framerates or visual smoothness, not even in games running over 200 FPS at 4K resolution.

Apparently you can see the difference using FCAT - because we all use FCAT.

Ehh outside of bridge results - when they are doing SLI review perhaps it would be better to actually use DX11 mode for Rise of Tomb Raider which supports multi-gpu instead of using DX12 mode which doesn't ;)

The thing is this: Electrically the connections are the same. The HB bridge and the normal floppy bridge are the connecting to the exact same contacts, so the only thing that the HB bridge can offer is less resistence: which is a difficult thing to offer seeing as how the floppy bridges were already running copper/gold traces and connections.

You know the old saying: don't copy that floppy

something is different since they have their own speeds

Standard Bridge (400 MHz Pixel Clock[2] and 1GB/s bandwidth[3])

LED Bridge (540 MHz Pixel Clock[4])

High-Bandwidth Bridge (650 MHz Pixel Clock[5])

It makes sense because FCAT will give more of a framing behaviour, and this is what the new bridges were meant to improve.

Although FCAT can be thrown out of 'accuracy' due to the driver design-implementation with multiple GPUs.
Cheers

I would get the hb bridge regardless. But i will wait for definitive testing before making any purchase.
