Yet again, look at the comments I was replying to, and many comments since then, which are about how much better EV is at racing and how much better EV sports cars are than ICE sports/race cars. The video as posted here, and even the title of the thread, is about the drag race. Good grief, READ.

Really, because I am reading, and what I have seen over and over again, is people pointing out the Tesla isn't a sports car, just that it is quick, and you barge in and claim that "everyone" is saying that it is, and that is what your responses are based.

Well everyone isn't saying it's a sports car, most of us are saying the opposite. I don't think I have seen anyone say the Tesla is sports car suitable for the track. Everyone knows it isn't. But you just keep using the race track "Straw Man" argument over and over, while pretending this is what "everyone" is saying.

It's a bullshit bad faith argument on your part.

Also, for the claims Tesla is not trying to make a sports car...Then why do they have a factory performance package, which is what the ludicrous upgrade is. Let that sink in for a moment, you are using a performance package car, as an example of how it can beat other cheaper cars, but then step back when someone points out the flaw in that by saying "yes, but it's not a sports car".

Yes but putting a Porsche engine into a VW bug just doesn't make sense. It serves no purpose because it's not practical. Tesla wants us to be amazed. But amazed at what? Of what use is quick acceleration if it has no real application.

Lolwut? 90+% of normal everyday driving is going to include acceleration. You want to merge onto a freeway? Accelerate. Want to pass someone? Accelerate. Need to quickly get in the left lane after a light? Accelerate. Cornering speeds and most other "sporty" aspects have no real application outside of a track or if you want to put everyone else on the road in danger.

wtf acceleration is about the most useful aspect of a powerful car. giant top speeds is what is irrelevant.

Need to quickly get in the left lane after a light? Accelerate. Cornering speeds and most other "sporty" aspects have no real application outside of a track or if you want to put everyone else on the road in danger.

Last I checked the Tesla is going to have more autonomous features than a Corvette. Quick lane shifts? If you are yanking the steering wheel that hard that you would spin out of control, then you need to learn how to drive. The situations where a Tesla will have trouble with cornering in an emergency situation is the ones where even a sports car isn't going to save you.

Honestly I'm not sure wtf kind of driving you do, but it isn't how the rest of us drive.
