I ordered 2 of them. I've been looking for a while. Idk much about flashlights and see all the gimmicks and lights that cost between $50-$100.
Glad I waited. Will see how these are. As long as they can blind someone I'm good with them.

Lumens represent total light output, regardless of direction. Candelas measure brightness in a specific direction.
The total output in lumens will be dictated by the source, power & efficiency of the optics. Changing the beam's angle affects only the last, and efficiency is always <100%.
So, if they're claiming this, they're full of crap.
Got the 2 I ordered today. Like Crosshairs I push the button and light comes out. Plenty of light for anything I would ever use them for and on the 3 AAA to boot. Although I did order the knock off batteries someone linked earlier in the thread also but the next day so they haven't arrived yet. I may just order two more flashlights and batteries. hmmm.....

Whats the life span on 3AAA on high?
pfff hell if I know lol. I just plopped batteries in to make sure the things worked so I knew if I had to bitch to the seller ordering fake china shit from overseas in bulk selling in the states as real merch. lol It's a light it powers on and makes dark areas light. If I need something for a long span of time 99% of that time it's because I'm under a car and well doing shit that holding a flashlight isn't going to work anyway and I have drop lights and painter lights for long jobs that need two free hands. If you want a light for your glove box, tool box for a quick grab and light an area up to find where you dropped a socket or to look under your dash or something, maybe for computer work then these are fine. Would I really trust one to take on a weekend camping and to light the way for those female members of the family making their 50 trips a night to the bathrooms through the woods um probably not.

Special in that they don't emit light. They suck darkness. Makes it more difficult to figure run time.

This really puts things into perspective after you've spent major coin on other lights. Sure, they might have more modes and lumens and a higher quality beam but for the vast majority of tasks, meaning day to day use like looking under furniture or walking around your yard at night you don't need ultimate reliability or water resistance or a perfectly shaped beam with the optimal color temperature. You just need LIGHT to illuminate darkness, and you can buy a whoooole lot of $5 lights for the price of a $100+ light. At this price, these are more or less disposable. If they last a few years you're getting MORE than your money's worth.

Those batteries tend to not have a protection circuit because it's placed as a seperate PCB in the laptop battery housing. So a pulled 18650 with no protection can overheat and explode if overused while an individually purchased 18650 from a reliable source would have that protection in place.
Although further research suggests some flashlights have overvolt protection in place already so you might be safe depending on the flashlight.

Just got my 4 today... 3 of them work great, the 4th one has the zoom ring stuck so it will only travel a certain range..
They are about on par with my 300 lumens light I have. I will test it tonight against my true 500 lumens and 1k lumens lights.

Wow these are great for how cheap they are. Slammed in 3 AAAs into one...Wow its bright. Just purchased two of the 2 battery and charger set so well see how those perform when they get here.

Yup, even with 3XAAAs in them they're shitloads brighter than any traditional flashlight. That's why they make awesome gifts... I think I might buy a few more to give out as prizes in this year's family Christmas auction.
Got the 3 that I ordered. Man, for the $3 and change that these cost me, I can't complain a single bit. They're probably not as bright as they claim, but the put out a very good amount of light (way more than your generic dollar store type flashlight). The real test with these will probably be how long they last, but I figure if I use them once or twice each it would be more than worth what we paid for them. We're going to keep one in each car and one in my nightstand. I'm half tempted to order a few more for stocking stuffer gifts for family.

Wonder if I can hook up some of these LEDs in my PC. I ordered these flashlights as I had made an order before I saw this thread. Ordered them on April 6th. They shipped on April 15. Got them on the 25th.

I'd bet dollars to donuts this thing has a LatticeBright LED, and they suck big time.
Best Budget light you can get is a Convoy S2+ direct from Simon.
^ A small selection of ones I have by my desk, not even counting the monster throwers, etc. Get a decent light in the 4200-4500K color range. Get good batteries for in AA (Eneloop, Eneloop pro, Fujitsu, Imedion) or 18650 (Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony). You'll be impressed with light output and runtime.

You must have missed my post when I compared this light to my legit 300 lumen light and said it was on par. I compared it to my actual 500, 1k, and 1.3k light...
Definitely a 300 lumen light, but for less than 5 dollars with an adjustable beam... Totally worth it.
That's weird.
I ordered mine on the 23rd and I'm maybe an hour and a half east from Columbia. It shipped from NY and is now in KC which is west lol.

They came in today via USPS. I guess they did a warm transfer somewhere for the last mile.
4 lights were shoved into a light plastic baggie shipper. No padding. All the boxes were pretty well torn up. Shipping was $0, and I got my monies worth LOL
Will test this weekend to make sure they work. I'll also light one off with a fresh set of AAA's on high power to get a run time out of them.

Nice collection, is that an Olight S1 third from the right? The S2 is my first good light and while I wish the color temp was a little warmer I really like it. It's nice having that much light in such a small package.
When I first started doing research I didn't understand how people ended up with large collections but I'm already trying to figure out what I want next, I'm thinking something floody with a warmer Nichia emitter.
It's actually a Skilhunt DS16. It's a handy carry every day light, the magnetic base is great. The only emiter offered is cool colored though.
With the exception of key-chain lights, I standardized all my lights on two sizes 18650 or AA/14500. It makes it easy to take the right light for the task. I like to camp / hike in the summer and fall which means I want small lights that can also clip on a hat for an impromptu headlamp. If we are staying at more of a campsite, I want a bigger light on an 18650. If I'm out night hunting I want a long range thrower. For carrying everyday I want something small that doesn't stand out. All in all, it's a lot easier to keep batteries ready and keep track of things with only 2 battery sizes.

Got my second order today of 3 lights. Just opened them up and haven't made it to the living room to get batteries. I'm sure they work like the first order though. Still waiting on my rechargable batteries to get here. Pretty sad I ordered the first set of batteries the day after I ordered the first 2 lights. Got those lights in and ordered 3 more along with batteries to go with those 3 more. The 3 new lights got here and the first run of batteries haven't arrived yet. Gotta love how shitty first class has gotten.

Ok, my viewpoint on these.
No way in any universe are these 2000 Lumen flashlights. Comparing them to my 200, 250 and 500 Lumen lights, I'd say there is exactly one zero too many on that spec. These are 200 Lumen Flashlights IMHO. Whether that error is an accident, oversight or on purpose I can't even guess at.
Now, given that they were $5 a piece and shipped for free, they were worth every penny so I have no complaints.
Just don't expect this awesome torch you think you are going to get, because you ain't gonna get it.

Just got mine today. Near mint. Would be mint but there's a small but barely noticeable scuff on the plastic. The second one is still in the box so idk how that one looks but no concern to me.
For the price I'm impressed. I actually like the square. It looks like a fist and that's the strongest setting. My only concern with this light was to blind the shit out of someone if needed and I think it will do the job.
I don't have a lot of flashlight knowledge and nothing to compare to so it may be crap compared to some others but the square setting definitely blinded me enough to stun me for a second so I'm good with them and glad I saw the thread.
I'm sure in the future I'll see what a $50 safe light is all about but for now I'm good with these $5 lights.
