Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Maybe if you want to push extremely high great rifts. For now I am happy with being able to do a 65 not to mention none of my legendary gems are level 50 once those are all leveled and a slightly better Endless Walk set I can see my current build being able to reach into the 70's easily.

how is the damage? I have similar build, with the exception of blood brother in the kanai's cube, (going to copy that :p) survivability is quite acceptable but it take me too much time to kill large packs of mobs, which have me kinda stuck at Grift 50-55.

took me ages to complete the challenge "T9 Nephalem Rift in less than 6 minutes" (35+ attempts easily) for the same reason. I think im going to also give a try to the Pig Sticker as im using right now the Nailbiter due the added thorns.

I'm tired of Diablo 3. It's also been a while since the first expansion.
When do you guys think Diablo 4 will come?
I know it's just speculating, but it's fun.
It took 12 years between 2 and 3, but I doubt it will take that long between 3 and 4. Perhaps 2020?

Damage isn't spectacular but it doesn't need to be because you're concentrating on thorns damage; you can cube a Hack to help give yourself a damage boost also a good dagger to use in place of the Pig Sticker is the Blood Dagger which can be made at the blacksmith. Remember CHC and CHD are useless on the Invoker set it's all about CDR and attack speed. When I finished my GR 65 I had around 1:20 left on the clock. I use the horse to zip around the map and avoid trash mobs unless they are blocking my path and concentrate on elites, I then pop my 1st three skills and the elites pretty much melt and then zip off to the next pack. I pop Akarat's Champion only on difficult elites and the rift guardian. If you link your profile I can give you some gear tips.

A large amount of the DPS comes from triggering Iron Skin (Reflective Skin) during the physical cycle on Convention of Elements. The 200% increase from CoE is a separate multiplier from the other % boosts - so you get a crazy boost to your thorns damage. Basically the 6-piece effect of Invokers boosts your thorns by 600%, then you have the 300% buff from Iron Skin, then the insane CoE buff: get as many hits in as you can (attack speed) and pop your Bombardment if you have it. If you don't pay attention to the CoE cycle you'll do significantly less damage overall.

As MrSteel mentioned, it's best to skip trash mobs and ride from elite to elite collecting the globes for progress. The yellow elites are the best as you can simply target them, collect the 4 globes, then move on without bothering with the minions. Quite honestly this approach doesn't really feel like what I expect from Diablo (slaying hordes of enemies) but it's the most effective method so it is what it is I guess. There are a few larger enemies that can provide a slight progress bump if you want, but for the most part trash mobs grant next to nothing.

Here's my guy so far: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Aix-1131/hero/72577002. Was running Hack in the cube for the longest time and it's a huge boost to killing trash, but Blood Brother simply provides insane toughness combined with Justice Lantern so it's BiS as you climb higher.

Cleared 75 yesterday with 2 minutes to spare on my DH. Woo!

well I see, I was doing couple of things wrongs really. never thought CoE was so valuable and appreciated, have like 2 or 3 ancient in the stash, I'll try that reverting to Endless Walk set but that will force me to change my hellfire amulet with Vigilant passive :(.. well really open to suggestions and thanks both MrSteel74 and Aix.

here's my profile http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Araxie-1354/hero/71741685

as I said couple of days ago im a returning player.. so a lot of things to learn again. =)

Focus and Restraint is useless on a thorns build, spend your blood shards on a Akarat's Awakening shield and a Aquila Cuirass chest piece that you'd want to cube. Go with 3 rubies in your chest piece and 2 diamonds in the pants and a diamond in the helm. Basically you want to copy my build as closely as possible lol.

definitively im going to try, thanks. I think I have a non-ancient Aquila in stash going to check.. =) if not im pretty sure I have one already in the cube, would be the same right? aquila in cube and heart of Iron equipped.

You'll also want a Belt of the Trove as one of your next upgrades: the bombardment it calls down every 6-8 seconds triggers the 4-piece bonus of Invokers, giving you 50% damage reduction.

Stalgard's in the cube - while fun - is not as good as Blood Brother or Hack if you have either laying around. CoE + Justice Lantern is where it's at for rings: I've got CoE in the cube since I'm using a RoRG and St. Archew's gloves.

Akarat's Awakening took me forever to get (lots of shards and cube upgrades) but at least I got a nice ancient one when I finally did. Got another one a few hours later of course!

Yes you want to wear the best of the two and use the other in the cube.

So I've never been able to reach GR60 solo. It's been a goal of mine since last season to hit that so I finally said screw it and tried it out tonight and succeeded with 7:42 or something remaining. And then I got a bit ballsy and threw a Unity on myself and my Templar and pushed a bit further:

Ran into a triple pack in the caldeum sewer map so I had to spend a lot of time kiting and only found a pair of pylons, though they were a great help. I think I can improve it :D

Anyone else having a problem with items/chest tabs and dialog boxes not showing up running this on Linux? I recently decided to re-install this and they have changed something. These things are preventing me from playing.

Lol, I'm thinking it's going to be a shorter time between 3 and 4, but I won't hold my breath for that one.

So, here's what I've done so far. In NS obviously. There's no point in season play for me this season. Although, I find it laughable that people assumed there would be no seasonal players if they removed seasonal benefits. *Looks at friends list* Yeah, that happened. Anyway:

I've also completed GR90 in 4p, but I don't have a screenshot and it's not leaderboard worthy anyway.

Well for me this season seemed rather strange to me, maybe it's because I have seen it all before? (Most of the season journey haven't changed).

So far I have a tough time deciding what conquests I want to actually do, although it may look more likely that I will do 45 without sets, 50m gold streak and either grift 55 in 6 class sets or master 8 set dungeons, but my test run with Akkhan set with Blessed shield ended in disaster (I took more time on TX rift elite pack than I did with invokers for the dungeon...), so I might have to scratch that, but the game seem very strange at times (Yesterday I got a Yang's Recurve and M6 gloves on my Crusader for some reason).

As per usual though, I will not push grift anymore than is necessary, and I am concentrating on getting all of the season journey out of the way.

I too am trying to decide what to do to complete my last conquest.
Solo 45 with a DH and no sets doesn't seem feasable, I used the Damage hack last season to complete that one.

I did the 50 million just randomly while gold farming, didn't know it was a conquest till I looked at the list and saw I completed one already. Picked up over 100 million gold in one streak.

Had tons of gold find so the stacks were pretty large,

Can anyone take a look at my DH? I feel like it's not doing the damage it should and I'm probably missing something since I don't play all the time, just casually.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/ITGuy1024-1149/hero/20491395

My DPS is about 2.2mil but my attacks only show to be doing between 200k - 800k damage.
I have played with DH's of lower levels with half DPS doing more damage in the same game.

You pretty much just need to complete a 6 piece set. Even if it means losing 1 million sheet dps. Doesn't really matter which set you go for, they're all pretty close to each other in strength.

Also, You're not getting the 600% damage increase from your Shadow set because you need to equip a melee weapon. You'll see a huge upgrade in damage by equipping even a yellow dagger over using that xbow without even changing any of your other gear.

You really want a full 6 piece set. You have a 2 piece shadow set bonus (600% melee damage increase) but you are using a bow so it is useless. I would start by looking at the current builds for DH (here is a thread with builds for every class https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/413d2s/deadsets_guide_to_24_detailed_class_guides/ ) and seeing what playstyle you like best. Once you figure that out you can start looking for those set pieces. Also using all upgraded gems helps a lot. Once you figure out what build you want to do you can figure out what gems go with it. Those set bonuses are really what gets the damage going though.

Personally I play the UE multishot build and have the most fun with it. I can easily melt every enemy on the screen in seconds doing TX rifts. I don't have any gems in mine since I was last fooling around with my sader but here it is for reference:

Hm interesting.

Well I was going full Marauder set for a while but ended up finding what I thought was better items. I saw the Unhallowed set recently and thought about going to that.

I like playing multishot / Chakram.

If you like using multishot take a look at my build. I'm a tad squishy but I can do T10 rifts in just under 4 minute and I think once I have a Dawn crossbow in my cube I'll be able to do them in less than 3 minutes.

Pretty happy with my DH so far. Everything melts up to GR 55, after that I can handle it but have to exert some effort. Still desperately need some ancient gear though.

Ran a GR 55 to see my time - 3:26.

Thanks for the tips gents. I switched to a decent full Marauder set I had and did see a nice damage bump up to 50+ mil.

Got a little bored with that quickly and didn't like having to toss out sentries all the time so I am moving on to an Unhallowed set.

To add to my little list of accomplishments, just did a 75 with my LoN Garg/Firebats witch doctor. My monk's actually in the top 80 NS Monks, so this accomplishment doesn't really come close to that, because WD grifts are generally higher than monk grifts (they do a hell of a lot more damage...)... but still, not bad. I'm in the leaderboards in a few places now. 4p, 3p, Solo Monk, solo WD. I'll probably get some more Despair recipe INT bonuses to see just how much higher I can go, but frankly 75 only took about 3-4 tries after I rerolled some of my gear. I think I can go a lot higher. Maybe up to 77-78+. I'll probably add the screenshot in later.

For now, here's my character's current items:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/StoleOwnCar-1814/hero/54497976

Still missing an ancient T&T, and I actually did the run without an ancient mask (it was non ancient but better pet damage)... and I just realized my Enchantress didn't actually have anything on her except like one ring and a weapon.... facepalm..

I too am trying to decide what to do to complete my last conquest.

Actually GR 45 with no sets is doable, it is the one I used for my third conquest. It is dang hard though doing it as a DH... :D

Grats!. My NS WD was top100(98 or so) and my NS monk was top10 last time I played them more than a month ago.

Nice! Yeah, the rankings have moved forward a decent amount. I'm probably going to aim for 78-80 with my monk someday... well maybe. It's kind of a pain to keep fishing that much. My WD is really in its infancy, I don't even have despair recipes on any of its gear.

that looks pretty nifty. there is no chance in getting banned using TurboHud?

Just an update to this - Yes, TurboHud is very nifty. IMO it does have a map hacky-like thing in it, but given the nature of D3 I don't personally consider that to be a big deal. However, TurboHud recently triggered a Tripwire event, meaning it was detected by Warden. Now, whether Blizzard will ban for it or not is as yet unknown. Blizzard's general stance seems to be more towards tools which automate the game, which TurboHud does not do at all. A banwave went out in China with bans ranging from 3 days to permanent, but the reports so far are the bans were for DemonBuddy use and not for TurboHud. No banwave in America/Europe yet as far as I know.

All things considered, as much as I did like using Turbohud I stopped as soon as I found out about the Tripwire event. I doubt you would get permanently banned for TurboHud, especially not if it's the first time you have received any kind of infraction on your account. Regardless I'm not interested in taking the risk despite how nice it is to have. Just thought people might want to be aware of the situation.

They've known about TurboHud for over a year now. They've even posted in the forums about it. I really don't think they care as long as it doesn't go full blown maphack, something which the creator is definitely against doing anyways.

Right, but afaik it wasn't actually confirmed to be detected by Warden until recently. KillerJoe talked about this a lot on the forums, and actually disabled it for a short time because he was worried about people getting banned. You could be right, and it may in-fact be perfectly safe to use BUT as I said I just thought people should be made aware of the facts as they are now. As far as I know nobody has confirmed any ban, ever, as a result of using TurboHud...but some people may prefer to play things safe knowing that it is detected by Warden.

I just started using Turbohud very recently (like a week ago maybe). I have to say that it's one of the best things to ever happen to my Diablo life, and I don't think I could go without it now. If they ban me for it, they'll simply lose a customer. Turbohud is absolutely indispensable for providing several features that the game should have had in the first place.

Meh, those addons end up becoming a crutch and make you a worse player in the long run as you become lazy/dependant on them. There is no replacement for actual experience and knowing how to play the game well.
