The $200 'Mirror's Edge Catalyst' Collector's Edition bundle

Must

not

pre-order....

I really want this, but doesn't say anything about when this could go up for pre-order. The game's not coming out until February so who knows? I have the Collector's Edition of MGS 5 preordered and I had to basically constantly refresh Gamestop's website for that for days.

The statue of faith as a child and a little girl is amazing. I have really high hopes for this. Q1 2016 is going to be awesome for games.

It actually looks pretty cool as far as these types of things go, and I'm a big fan of the "series". However, I still can't think of a case where I'd ever want or need any of that stuff. Regular edition for me.

They usually become available the same day they're announced, sometimes the next. I always check with my local Gamestop to find out.

I wonder how much influence Anita Sarkeesian had on this game......
Tropes or no Tropes

Though not a fan of the mirrors edge thing, sure glad it isn't true.

That said how did the rumours start anyway?

I'm not sure if parroting rumors debunked half a year ago old is bad trolling or just moronic, but neither is enough of an excuse. Your mother and I are very disappointed in you.

I'm pretty sure it was just a single random comment on a Youtube video somewhere, and it just spread like wildfire across the internet.

Wouldn't doubt it...things tend to escalate fast on the interwebz.

Back on topic... geez... 200 bucks. People'll seem to go crazy for these things, to pay that much money. But then agian, people pay 5k-10k to kickstarters

Just another way for EA to empty your wallet in addition to $60 or more of DLC plus microtransactions. As much as I love Mirror's Edge, I'm not biting. #nomorepreorders

Did my pre-order. While i like the series i DO want the statue to put into my collection. Rest is just a bonus and i've spent more for things that won't last anywhere near as long as this CE/game should.
Expensive i know, but have made the mistake of not getting a few CE's before and ending up paying a lot more when i DID decide i wanted to get them later on.
And unless they make a ton of these they'll probably sell out fairly quick.
(Not like the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy CE, can't even touch those for under $300-400 now i think)
Just my opinion tho... :p

So... does it come with the game or is like the wolfensten pre-order which came with no game, just the goodies?

Looks good. Had some spotty grabbing onto pipes the last time around. Remember getting pissed physically clipping through them after many tries. Assuming it is more polished it will be a good game. Hope they color the trees this time around though. The untextured trees/plants looked very odd.

I actually really liked the stylistic approach they used. I read about how the original engine worked years ago, and it was pretty cool. (at least a novel approach) I actually think (if I remember correctly) many of the plants/trees were colored, just some weren't. I could be mistaken though as it's been a little while. Still, I liked the overall aesthetic. There are plenty of games that try to model reality. I tend to prefer ones with a little stylistic flair. (36 pieces in fact... :p )

I liked the look to, and this game seems to be retaining it. But white plants (I think some were colored some odd color?) is just... odd. They can place them sparsely but if they are there they should have some color.

The statues that come with limited editions are never good or worth the mark up.

This, EA is the king of milking and fucking over gamers. I'll wait for reviews like a sane person.

$200 bucks and no mention on full DLC support/availability with purchase even.

Nope

On the actual topic of $200 edition, I'm firmly in the nope camp. However, I will definitely be picking up the base-game, and as close to immediately as I'll allow myself.

My friend pre-ordered the original game for the messenger bag it was supposed to have he never got the bag...

I have the Collector's Edition preordered, but I can't get myself to cancel it quite yet. Amazon Prime brings it down to $160, free 2 day shipping, and the statue looks amazing. Mirror's Edge has always been a special game to me. The end of the teaser still brings me to tears when I watch it.

seems like this new game is more of a reboot then a sequel...or the game they wanted to release originally...I got the first game during a Humble Bundle sale for cheap but have never really been interested in playing it

It's a completely unique experience, and if I recall correctly it's Faith's origin story so not entirely a reboot. Just dedicate 15 minutes to it, and if you don't like it then move on. But, there are many people out there such as myself who really love the game. In more ways than one too. It's a dystopian future, artwork, colors, music, gameplay is all very cool. One of the very few times EA has green-lit a really unique and original game.

Agree completely. The original is quite a special game/experience. It actually looks like this one will be too. It's the only reason I will touch Origin, so it must be.

I REALLY enjoyed the original. EA greenlighting a sequel could not have been an easy board decision, so hey, thumbs up in that regard.

The original had an awesome story and made you actually REALLY care about Faith's sister. The first time I played the game I turned Runner Vision off and did not pick up a single weapon. It was an AMAZING experience. The second time was the same, only with Nvidia 3D vision, and though the 3D was not flawless (some decals only showed up in one eye, flickering, etc.) it was an AMAZING game to have depth added to. I've seen Occulus hacks with this game, I can't wait to try that out.

The original game is so awesome, it definitely deserves a play through. Completely unique to anything else out there. I loved the art style and music as well. VR or 3D would be really cool.
