QNIX QX2710 27" 1440p Monitor $200

Good price. I have the same monitor, but gaming version. Mine overclocked to 110hz at full res, guaranteed to hit 96hz

Multi input is not OC'able from what I've read. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably thinking of the dp2710, that is the dvi only model that overclocks

I have two of these for the past 2 years, got htem cheap on ebay. debezeled them, and was happy to find samsung panels inside.

I have Xfire 290's -- anyone got an easy tip or utility to over clock these panels? I'd be happy with 90hz all day long.

Was able to get both of mine overclocked to 96Hz on the first try. Not really interested in going any higher because if it works, not going to fuck with it.

Must say -- BF4 @ 1440p @ 96Hz on Ultra is pretty damn sexy (being pushed by xfire 290s) My monitors are the single input kind (no built in scaler) Dual Link DVI.

I was half way getting the itch to upgrade to a real gaming monitor (to the tune of 700+ dollars) but this suits me just fine. I think I paid $250 for the ebay version of these from China 2 years ago. Very happy.

Are they still using Samsung panels in these to anyone who's recently ordered and ripped into the guts of it.

I just ordered mine from Newegg for $219. Does anyone know of a good stand replacement? Budget already maxed so I don't have much money left.

I think you might have to debezel the display since the stem for the base is stuck to the housing. I could be wrong though, I have one in my closet attached to a vesa mount collecting dust for over a year...

Unless they drastically changed things in the past 2 years, you can debezel them without issue. I bought two off ebay and a dual VESA swingarm mount for my desk. Love the fact I have two 27" panels in my face "floating" above the desk as well (easy to clean/dust) I debezeled and fully disassembeled such that I could hit the metal brace frame with some PlastiDip. - game out pretty nice. I'd find a pic and post it, but I'm at work and don't want to risk getting on facebook or imgur due to "other" stuff that might show up.

For $200 -- you can't get anything better for 1440p, 27", with the possibility of 96+Hz or more OC.

Detailed review of the monitor in the OP from TFTCentral. Not to be confused with the QX2710 LED Evolution II with the Samsung PLS panel. They show in the review that this particular panel will skip frames above 60hz.

Indeed. I have a Qnix QX2710, Run mine at 110hz which passes fine. It's a SINGLE dvi input model. This is the only version to overclock solidly. The multi input versions tend to have issues when oc'ed. If you are buying this monitor in the OP, it is not a solid unit for oc'ing. You're going to want to look for the single input version.

This is accurate, I previously bought a single input glossy version, loved it. When I OC'd it I just had to adjust settings as the edges got a little dark.
Then I had to replace i due to damage from a move, with this version. It OCs ok but I get shudder at higher frames. It didn't like the DVI cable form the previous one so I have to use a thick one they provided.

I also find it odd, the new one is listed as a projector in my nVidia control panel.

Here's my MULTI input QX2710 overclocked to 96hz just fine. These are the best pics I can get on my phone, and you'll see my shitty HP LV2011 at work running stock settings at 60hz shows up the same in pics.

So, maybe they changed the firmware or hardware on the PCB to properly overclock these panels since that TFTC review was done. I can run it at 110hz, but it's hard to maintain those FPS in games with vsync on without dropping settings. 96hz is my sweet spot for eye candy and performance.

I've heard this one can be oc'd as well, i'll try oc'ing this weekedend and give the results

I don't know if they changed their panels but the seller on newegg lists it as a VA panel.

Per Newegg:
Specifications
• Model name: QX2710 LED Evolution II multi TRUE10
• Panel: AH-VA Panel

Per TFT Central: Again like Samsung's PLS technology, AU Optronics have invested in their own IPS-type technology since 2012, dubbed AHVA. This technology is designed by AU Optronics as another alternative to IPS. Confusingly the AHVA name makes it sound like it's a VA-type panel, which AU Optronics have been manufacturing for many years. It should not be confused with AMVA which is their current "true" VA technology produced. - TFT Central

I like VA (AMVA), much better blacks, which is of utmost importance to me until better comes along. So anyone know which "VA" were talking about here?

None. Read the link you quoted from and you'll have your answer. Hell, it's even in the text you copy-pasted.

Monitor on the desk and easy overclock to 96Hz

Edit: Added pic (quick cropped phone quality)

I picked up a CROSSOVER 27QHD AHIPS for $150 , looks good but locked at 60Hz, should have researched better.

After trying for a while, no luck oc'ing. Still @ 1440p 60hz looks great. Best picture I've EVER had on a monitor.
