4K 60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI 2.0 TV Database

I can confirm the Panasonic TH-55CX700A does 4K 60hz 4:4:4 Chroma with Titan X. It looked spectacular!!!

I tested 38ms of lag for the TV as well.

We were a little concerned about color uniformity when sitting to close to the set but once gaming e didn't notice. Also it has a very limited viewing angle - Not wide at all like other sets.

We turned off all processing and found it playable and certainly fine for non competitive gaming. We then connected the ROG swift 144hz monitor and could feel that little bit better response in game and also less motion blur. But 4k is amazing and we had the 55 on our bench for test for a week but still didnt get a full review completed. We were to busy enjoying the games and eventually had to call ut a day on the testing and come back to it at another time. The tv done everything we wanted and was plug and play 4:4:4 chroma via hdmi 2.0.

We were running nvidia gpus. We could have tried 3d tv play i guess. If we find time we will test that for you. The review will be on our youtube channel soon I guess.
 
Panasonics don´t accept 1080p/120hz signal, tried with cx680 and cx700.
Sony X830, x810,x850 accept the signal but since the last update some white lines are showing in dark backgrounds, lets hope in the next firmware is fixed.

Did your cx700 had same problem in 3D and what size cx700 do you use?

It was the 50 inches european model, and as for 3d sorry but i don´t have steoroscopic vision so i never try the 3d aspect of a tv. But from what i have read it seems serveral makers of 4k tvs have skimped in 3d quality.
 
OK. I was interested to 40inch model 40cx700e because its super cheap only 540€ and cheapest UHD TV that support 3D. But if it's have that problem then I'm not interested it anymore and looking for some better 3D TV-s and wait next year models. I plan use 3D for gaming with Tridef 3D or Nvidia 3DTV play.
 
I haven't read the entire thread and I typically read everything before posting as a protocol but in this case I just wanted to add some basic information.

I recently purchased a Samsung UN55HU6840 55" 4K UTV model from Microcenter for $899 on Black Friday. I liked it a lot but some issues with it resulted in my returning it. This could have been a result of a firmware update that didn't go well but it started displaying a black screen with audio cutting out intermittently. There was also some uniformity issues with the screen most obvious in dark scenes.

I was going to get another Samsung UN55HU6840 but went with an LG UB8500 55" model instead. IMO the screen is much better then the Samsung UN55HU6840 with respect to uniformity. Its not perfect though. Since I have my smart TV wall mounted it is well above the head of the viewer. When viewing from such an angle there the top left and right corner are slightly dimmer then the rest of the screen. this effect almost disappears completely if the screen is about eye level with the viewer (or below) so its not necessarily something I would call a defect.

While watching a video review of the LG UB8500 on youtube I was able to detect the same slight dimming in the corners of the review set so I am almost certain that many if not all owners of these LG models would see the same effect.

I have the Samsung UN55HU6840 as well and can do 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 @ 60hz 4:4:4 8 bit. I'm not sure why it lets me do 4096 but I assume that's the true native panel resolution or else it wouldn't work.
Sometimes the TV does seem to have trouble accepting the signal and says it doesn't support the resolution when alt+tabbing from full screen games, but turning it off and back on again fixes it.

HDMI 2.0 is capable of 4:4:4 60Hz 4K at 8bit color. 10bit or higher it cant do 4:4:4, but for the most part that's not an issue. The main issue with most HDMI 2.0 TVs at the moment is HDCP 2.2 uses up too much bandwidth to do 4:4:4. So we need HDMI 2.0 but not HDCP 2.2.

Not true. Even my 6840 which is below the 6900 range supports 4:4:4. Only the MDX port supports HDCP 2.2 and that's the only port that you can't turn on UHD color for:

I'm interested in the Sony KD65X8500C, I assume this also does 4:4:4 as well? Do you need to update the firmware or does it work out of the box?
 
So I got a Samsung UN40JU6500 TV that will do proper 4:4:4 4K 60hz. The input lag in pc mode is 40+ ms. Is there any 4K TV or 40 inch monitor with 20ms or less input lag in 4:4:4 4K 60hz? Thanks

I have the un60ju7100

took me a little bit to figure out, but when I did, the tv has very very little input lag

You have to use the remote mouse to hover over the input you have the tv connected over - click it and select device type as GAME not PC.

Then in the menu enable game mode (it will be grayed out unless you have the device type set to game).

Enjoy super low input lag gaming :)

My tv still reports its in uhd color and so does nvidia control panel. Are you sure about that??

Philips BDM4065UC 40" has 21.2 ms of input lag according to PC Monitors' review. It does 4:4:4 at 60hz via DP 1.2. I guess it's not technically a "TV" though.

It does have some color streaking issues as noted on its thread here. There is a gargantuan thread for the monitor here with a variety of opinions/observations, some complaining about it, some not.

You can always get the LG OLED 9600. Since it's not LCD, I'm not sure what the input lag+response time would be but it's almost none.

Displaylag.com puts the overall input lag at 17-21ms which was entirely noticeable to me when I activated it. All of a sudden my k/d in battlefield literally tripled (from like 5-19 to over 1:1 lol)

That is 4K. I wouldn't consider 1080p honestly. Less then 1:1 (using scaling) looks too shit for me personally. I'd sooner lower graphics settings than the resolution. One benefit of 4K is the ability to not use any antialiasing and have the picture still look better then 1080p with 8x MSAA.
 
Its only benefit if its small 4K screen, but your 49'' 4k have lower ppi even than 24'' 1080p.
 
Mine is a 60", so the ppi is even lower, but I get your point. UN60JU7100.

Really though you don't have a choice of a higher ppi assuming you hold the screen size constant. If you have ever seen a 1080p screen that size (I also have a 52" 1080p magnavox), you'll agree that a large format 1080p screen with high AA settings looks worse then a large format 2160p screen with no AA applied, assuming native resolution content etc.

Many figures quoted in this thread have been 1080p because the kit to test at 4K wasnt available.

Do you know why the panel lets you choose 4096x2160 when the recommended res is 3860x2160? Is the true native res of the panel 4096? Also, how were you able to enable game mode with 3860? What picture mode did you set? I can only seem to enable it in 1080p.

Native res is 3840. Game mode is not avail when you label your HDMI as PC. Game mode has nothing to do w setting the resolution on your pc...

If native is 3840 why can you go up to 4096? Wouldn't the display just blank out not supporting it?

Ok, then the best image quality would be to set it to 3840 since that matches 1 to 1 pixel of the panel. I still don't get why desktop res set to 1080p all of a sudden allows me to enable game mode when scaling is done by the TV.

Well there's no setting to enable PC mode in my menu settings but the HDMI is plugged into the PC port. It allows Game Mode to be enabled if I change my resolution to 1080p. Are you saying if I plug into a different port I can enable game mode with 3840 desktop res?

Hit the source button, select hdmi 1/dvi, press the down arrow. edit device type, select PC. When in PC mode, you cannot enable game mode, but the tv display true 4:4:4 at 4K 60hz. If you select game for device type, you can then enable game mode under the general menu of the tv.

You should always be able to select 3840x2160 in windows no matter what mode the tv is in.. only hdmi 1 will accept true 4:4:4 4K 60hz 8 bit... I think other hdmi ports only allow up to 30hz.
 
Thanks, I didn't know I could do that, I assumed the DVi port meant it was for PC. I still can't enable game mode when setting to Game in 4k but I prefer the better color spectrum anyways.

Uh oh, after enabling PC mode on Samsung UNHU6840, 6 hours later all HDMI ports except HDMI3 (MHL) which only supports 4:2:0 are dead. I tried a factory reset but no go. :( Did something burn out?
