ASUS North America - ASUS Z170 Motherboards Q&A Thread

I have not tested the newest version of AI Suite III so I cannot say.

Thanks for the response. I guess i'll give it a try. the dpc hiccups have actually gotten worse since I uninstalled all the software...

So I moved from Bios 801 to Bios 1402 for my Z170-DELUXE and I'm noticing a new problem. On boot, my headphones have static. Then when the first sound is played there is a pop and then the sound works normally. This wasn't happening on Bios 801 and no other changes have been made. I reinstalled the audio drivers and no luck. Really perplexed. Any advice before I go back to 801?

That's really odd given that I've only disabled the software in three cases to resolve the issue. I just went into MSCONFIG and ensured none of those software packages started up with Windows to solve the problem.

I haven't tried using the latencymon app since i installed the new version but, I was playing some videos last night and no more video hiccups.

IIRC, some Asus software (Sonic something or another comes to mind) uses entries in the Task Scheduler library for startup with Windows.
