PC releases you are excited for?

Any WW2 games coming out next year? I hope they go back and make one on one of the better game engines.

If HL3 comes out next year than that.

Don't know what type of WW2 game you're looking for, but Hearts of Iron 4 which is a Paradox grand strategy pick your country and control everything type game should be out next year; it's on my watch list for sure.

Also looking forward to X-Com 2 and Warhammer 40K : Armada

Metro 2033 and Dishonored are still on my 'to do' list. :-/

Dishonored is awesome. I was super underwhelmed with Metro 2033 and Last Light. Beat them last year, but man, I thought they would be better...

But I guess if we are including any game, that I will probably buy on PC i am looking forward to: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dishonored 2, Dead Island 2, and Doom

Doom, although I will see as Doom 3 really lost me.

Sorry to hear that. To each their own of course, so if you didn't like it you didn't like it. However, I much prefer it to the originals, and I played those since their Alphas. (and yes, I do still love them, but Doom 3 kinda defined what I personally want from a Doom game.) Tons of action, plenty of demons, crazy science/technology to look at, and then they added logs and emails and such akin to System Shock. The only thing I think they could have done better is handling some of the monster closets, but then, the originals had those too and much more of them. Doom 3 actually handled this better IMO. Imps crawling out of vents, pinkies bursting through walls and windows, twisted demonic teleportation, spider-head things clicking along in vent-shafts nearby while you're basically in one yourself and pretty helpless. Everything was BIG too. HUGE machines, reactors, centrifuges. The equipment on the base was very consistent. Anyway, probably not going to change anyone's mind, but I feel like Doom 3 was the pinnacle of the series so far. If the new Doom combines a single player campaign like Doom 3 with the multiplayer of the old ones (with some modern twists perhaps) then I am going to be one happy player.

Doom 3 had it's strong points, action wasn't one of them. Compared to the originals it was lame in this regard. It also played out the "scary monster in the closet" routine way too many times. They used it as a crutch and it just wasn't effective after the first two or three times the game threw that at you. I do like what they were trying to do, but Dead Space did it far more effectively. Granted I like the FPS mechanics of games like Doom, but the type of experience they were going for seems to be more along the lines of Dead Space rather than a follow up to Doom 1 and 2.

I actually really liked the first Dead Space (and quite a bit of the second though not as much as the first.) Really though Doom 3 was the first game that did what it was doing (albeit in a fairly watered down way) since System Shock 2. It tried for that emergent play style, and while it nailed it in some ways, it failed in others. (for example, there wasn't too much meaningful data in the logs. Usually just a code to a locker, or some extraneous information where it could have been a bit more integral to the actual game play)

As far as the action goes, I much prefer the Doom 3 style of fighting one or a small handful of monsters at a time to the mob style of the originals or Serious Sam or the like. That's just me though. I know there are plenty of other people of the opposite opinion.

I do agree they overused the monster closet routine a bit, but it did fit very well in some cases. Just not very well in others. Also, the original Doom and Doom 2 had TONs of monster closets. They were just called "secret areas" back then. You hit an invisible switch on the wall, the wall raises and there is a mob waiting to jump out at you.

Personally, I prefer monsters crawling out of vents, floor panels, bursting through walls, to just opening a closet and BAM. However, every once in a while that closet thing works ok.

I'd like to point out that I thought Doom 3's expansion was easily better than the base game. I rather enjoyed it, despite it's copying the gravity gun from Half-Life 2.

I really liked the expansion too. The gravity gun didn't quite have the panache of the HL2 one though. It felt a little clunky and limited. The rest of the expansion was great though, and that gun wasn't TOO bad, just not quite as fun. (especially as the broken HL2 grav gun :D )

I enjoyed the crap out of the double barrel.

:D I've got a soft spot for that one too. (and the one in Doom 2) That little click-clack plastic shell sound is still very much ingrained in my head.

Picked up Helldivers for $20. I definitely recommend this game if you have at least one other person to play with. Some areas with make you want to smash your keyboard others are fun. It's also not a question of if but when you get something dropped on your head. It's good times.

I liked dishonored quite a bit though some of it felt flawed. I will happily buy dishonored 2 but I'm not excited about it. Metro 2033 us a great game if you let yourself be absorbed into the protagonist. Metro last light I'm gonna say sucked. It was a pretty fun game but the plot is stupid and your escorte was probably the most annoying tag along I've ever dealt with.

I hate to break it to you but dead island 2 is mia at the moment the devs quit and deep silver is still figuring out what to do. I was excited about Yager doing it now I'm pretty meh about it.

For me surprised to say as of this weekend I'm extremely psyched for Outlast 2. This game sat in my backlog for years but I knocked it out and it's expansion this weekend. I can honestly say its one of the best games Ive ever played. The minute I beat it I immediately bought and beat the dlc. Then this evening I seriously considered starting a new game. I've never craved a game this much before.

Overwatch
Heroes of the Storm (More content, Arena Mode)
Crowfall
Star Citizen

Yea, I'm going to jump on the wagon and buy the division. Hope they don't screw me over. Gonna need a hardforums clan.

In order of release dates:

The Division
Mirror's Edge 2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Mass Effect: Andromeda

*Will add The Witcher 3 B&W Expansion, I've just started the base game and will no doubt be playing both of expansions as well given how awesome the game is.

I'm kind of curious if Mirror's Edge will play well with the Steam Link/Controller, would be fun to play on the big screen but guessing the latency will make precision jumping too difficult.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dark Souls 3, Doom 4, Psychonauts 2. Xcom 2, Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

Doom
Tomb Raider.

I also enjoyed Doom 3, I really never got tired of the stuff in the closets, although it did get predictable.
The expansion was quite good, I agree. The double shotty became my favorite.

I recently played through the whole thing with the HI-Res mods added , it was a lot of fun.

Still......... Half-Life 3

Ruse of the Tomb Raider and Dark Souls 3. I liked TR, it improved on the Uncharted formula just enough to make it replayable. Beaten twice. DS3... well I enjoyed DS1 and adored Bloodborne... I mean unless they massively screw the game up, I'll find something to love.

No Man's Sky.
Doom.
Fallout 4 with good mods.
Wipeout remake.
Interested in Descent.
Eve Valkyrie.
Abes Exoddus if they finish it this year. New 'n Tasty/Oddysee is great.
Keeping an eye on Star Citizen etc.

lol oh ... missed that one, but yea.
NMS is what I'm looking forward to. I play SWTOR & WoWSs ... GTA V ... Elite-Dangerous ... any game that will push my graphics card ... I play for the eye candy & game play. I'm sure there are a lot of great games that are too ugly for me to consider.

Battlefield 5

Lawbreakers

Dishonored 2

Camelot unchained

DOOM

For Honor

Divinity Original Sin 2

DEEP DOWN PS4

Wolcen

Blackroom

Tyranny obsidian

I am Setsuna top down RPG.

I'll get excited with another game release when , instead of pre order bundles, they offer them with something that can alter time so I have a chance to play them. My backlog of stuff to play through all predates the birth of my daughter.

Have to agree, so many games get released & have been out for awhile before I ever hear of them most of the time lately. NMS is a game I heard about at the VGX awards in 2013 & have been waiting for. Seems like forever. I didn't pre order yet, might not. Don't want the pre-order bonus' to affect my game experience too much. We'll see though.

Now that most of these have already come out, it doesn't really seem like there is a whole lot left for the Fall/Winter. Night in the Woods is due, and Dishonored 2 still hasn't hit. Lawbreakers and No Man's Sky look promising. I guess the new Unreal might finally be a real game at some point.
Beyond those, I suppose it'll just be a good time to catch up on missed games and (hopefully) be able to get 'em for cheap.
