what will the next nvidia card going to be called, anyone know?

As far as architecture goes it will be called Pascal. As far as what the devices themselves will be called, I do not know that anyone knows this at the current moment. I know that Nvidia has not currently released those names.

1080 P (P for peasants)
1080 X (X for xtreme)
1080 XX (XX for xtremely xtreme)
1080 XXX (use your imagination)

GF GTX Crapper - it craps all over the competition and smells good.

Betcha they will go back to the 2XXX branding. If I remember right, this same thing happened years and years ago with similar results. Check out the wiki article - it would fit nicely.

I'm excited to find out what they will be called. I'm betting they drop the whole GTX 000 altogether and go with something new and hopefully not complicated. Truly next gen cards warrant proper naming. :D

For me, I'm kind of interested in the naming scheme too because it seem there will be a need for a new one, as we've hit 9xx. nVidia have done 4 digits too starting with GF4 Ti 4xxx, so I'm not sure if we'll go back to that.

I hope it's not a 4th digit. I gave up on paying attention to the GPU industry in the mid-2000's when they did that. It was so freaking confusing and AMD is proof again that it's just a bad naming scheme. Too many unnecessary digits for so few of products and even worse when you have just as many products to make use of the naming convention.

Calling it now. Nvidia will, instead of adding a fourth digit, simply start calling their GPUs the "GeForce" again. GeForce Pro, Ultra, Ti etc.
