I had both a PS3 and an Xbox 360, and I mostly got an Xbox One earlier this year thanks to a promo that Microsoft was running that was too hard to pass up ($100 for any Xbox 360 - in my case, I had a launch day Xbox 360 that hadn't yet RRoD'd, but I can't imagine having tried to sell it and getting even $100 for it...plus it came with the Master Chief Collection, a copy of AC Unity, one more free game which I used to get Arkham Knight, and a $50 Xbox card I used to buy Elite Dangerous and The Long Dark).
I was pretty bad about playing a lot of xbox games, so backwards compatibility and remastered stuff is actually pretty appealing to me - the Halo games, Mirror's Edge, Borderlands, Dishonored, etc. etc should be keeping me busy for a while, plus I've been digging Forza 6 and Fallout 4.
I am definitely hoping to see MS do more to make the Xbox a compelling platform and to make sure it keeps getting good stuff.
I do have to imagine at some point I'm going to get a PS4 - The Witness and No Man's Sky look appealing, and I'd also like to play the Nathan Drake Games and The Last Of Us.
But so far I've enjoyed being an Xbox One owner.
