I have a few

-.Forsaken Uprising

but it's servers are always wiped and the game is always being updated =)

- Kingdoms Rise

Cool game but that was two years ago....still in development I think

- Grim Dawn

3 years later....

I vote for Shroud of the Avatar. The game has been updated monthly for 2 years without a single break from the developers. They are hiring more and more employees, and the game is almost feature complete. There's still a lot of work to do but it's coming along nicely.

Grim Dawn is still coming along. I heard the final retail version is getting released in the spring next year. They just released the first part of the final act not too long ago.

I have not played it myself, but DIRT Rally is also getting universal praise.

Is The Forest still in development? That was the only one that ever really caught my eye.

My vote definitely goes to Grim Dawn.

We're FINALLY in the home stretch here people!! :D

Not sure what the game will ever become, but it sure is fun to wrap cars around trees. $20 is too high though. If you search the internet there is a demo with a craptastic hatchback. you can edit the cars file to give it more horsepower and the manual transmission.

Offworld Trading Company

Not a game for everyone, but quite enjoyable.

Next Car Game: Wreckfest

Someday they will finish the game. Still, I can't stop playing what is there. Racing is complete(with online play) and a blast, they just need to finish the career mode and the rest of the tracks. Physics model is similar to Beam NG
Will be 3 years in development, January.

Capcom has been doing this with Street Fighter 5 and I've been really happy with it. The game is essentially polished and totally functional, but they're using it to balance and polish how the final game will work.

I have 722 hours into Space Engineers and I love it. It does have its fair share of bugs but it is under active development and they get fixed (eventually).

Steamroll.

Healthy mix of clever puzzles with action in a steampunk environment.

It is updated every week with new levels and stuff, these guys really listen to feature requests and bug reports.

Factorio,
Another perpetual in development game (closing in on 4 years and the version is 0.12.something), but it's stable, runs well, and has plenty of content as well as a good modding community.

I would not recommend anyone jump right in without checking some lets play type videos because A. the first 30 minutes of the game is pretty slow, B there's not much of a tutorial so it can be hard to know where to start.

At it's heart a basic crafting game: mine raw materials -> smelt them to refined good-> craft them into tools -> build automation systems to do it all for you -> your army of flying killer robots slaughtering the natives.

Very fun little racing / demolition derby game.
Driving feels pretty good with a controller (never bothered setting up my racing wheel for it, since it's much more an arcade driving model)

They released a major patch, what a month or two ago that really filled in the game.

Grim Dawn is awesome! One of my favorite games.

Besiege is definitely good for what it is.

Darkest Dungeon.

I'm actually going to have to not recommend this game. I've been following it for a while now and finally decided to give it a shot a couple weeks ago. It's way more alpha than the screenshots and videos make it seem. First game I've ever used the Steam refund on. It simply wasn't playable for me. Once it comes out I'll look at it again and decide if I want to pick it up. Still think it's a cool game just way too rough in it's current state.

In the long run, I wouldn't be surprised *at all* if the "game" simply becomes a front-end demo for the underlying physics engine.

Isn't ark survival evolved one?

I played it a shitton when it first came out on steam, but I stopped playing after a month or two. I'm waiting for the full release before I get back into it.
