They had a deal similar to this with the gtx 970 these last few months that I almost bit on. But with this new deal, I'm even more tempted.

Only question is, would you trust a 500W PSU with this card? I checked a review of the card and it seems like total system draw is high 300 Watts. But with the addition of another hard drive or two, won't you be pushing the limits of the PSU?

Yes, actual pull of my overclocked X99 system was around 400 watts with a 980 Ti.

Would I build it that way? No, I'd put more zip in it. This seems to be a good deal tho. :)

Seems almost too good to be true. So thank you for your opinion!

Yep that's basically what I measure from the wall, OC'd CPU and 20% power target Titan X OC'd, 1x = 400-450W 2x = 700-750W.

I see close to 450 watts at the wall at times with my 4770k and oced 980 Ti. Seems a bit sketchy for long term use to have a cheaply made OEM 500 watt PSU in there.

This seems like a killer deal. That's one hell of a system for under $1,000

Thats not bad at all. Rather build myself. I enjoy the building aspect and O/Cing etc..

BTW for a few more bucks you cna get a K so no reason to listen to that fool and get the locked chip. Its 50 more bucks but thast not counting discount so it is 33 bucks for the K CPU. Stupid to get the non K!

The bios will not allow for OC and the 500w psu can't handle the 980ti and OCing. Stick with the non k.

The only reason to get this deal is to scavenge the parts off this computer. HP desktops are complete garbage. Their motherboards, cases and power supplies are made as cheaply as possible. If I was in the market for a 980ti I'd go to EVGA and look at their B stock instead of getting this HP desktop.

K has a higher stock clockspeed. Worth it for $33 IMO.

exactly. Get the K and now you have 1K in parts to build a custom rig and a good 300 bucks of parts to sell. Or make a second rig as a media machine....or whatever. If pascal wasn't coming out I would buy this to do an SLI. It is just pointless because I am buying next gen day one since its such a boost.
