Suggestions for an air cooler for stock i7-6700K?

It would need to fit in a Corsair 350D. They list a maximum height of 160mm.
 
Most any mid-level cooler will do the job. Where are you located and how much do you want to spend.
 
Look into an AIO cooling, the H80i GT is great value and if you want better/the best go for the H100i GTX.

Air coolers are cheaper, quieter, more dependable and cool as well as CLCs, there are few exceptions, and most of the are not CLCs, but AIOs.
All CLCs are AIOs, but not all AIOs are CLCs. :D
 
If you actually meant Stock speeds then a CRYORIG H7 will work fine and is not expensive
I like Noctua NH-U12S but it might be more than you want to spend.

I am in central NY. I would like to spend $25 to $75. I am not sure I need to spend near the top range though for stock speeds.

The rated decibel levels are also much higher than most air coolers. I don't know why Corsair needs to put 40+ dB fans on them.

This looks like a good combination of price and performance for stock speeds. It is also 145mm in height, so there should be no fitment issues.

Because of carppy radiators with dense fins require high speed fans to cool .. add to that pumps that can barely move enough coolant.
 
Excepting the Venomous X wich is exactly 160mm height there is nothing to go for at thermalright. The Cryorig looks good. Go for that one, given the price. Best bang for the buck

Actually, the real reason is that raw cooling performance sells and is needed for extreme overclocking. The denser fins and higher speed fans is why the H100i GTX outperforms the H100i.

Sorry, but I disagree. Raw marketing hype is more like it. :D
There are much better quality radiators in the same physical size range with significantly better cooling rate, thus not needing such noisy fans. and the stock fans are not all that good either.. and the pump just barely able to move coolant through the waterblock fast enough to keep it cool. All that needs to be done to verify what I and others here are saying is look at pump radiator and fan ratings compared to the those used in custom loops.

350D has 160mm CPU clearance.
TRUE Spirit 140 rev.A is 165.15mm tall.
To me that means it will not fit. :D
Macho 140 / Macho Zero won't fit either as it's 162mm .. and more money.
 
Ahhh. doyll - you got me. I was looking at the Length (155mm). The Height is indeed 165.15mm.

which is probably true, I happen to think the Corsair AIOs are crap and would rather have Predator 240 or 360 if not go for a fully custom system.
You get what you pay for.

We often just compare temps and forget about quality of construction. I happen to like Noctua Air coolers because they are made well and last a very long time and if a new CPU format comes out they are known for sending new mounting hardware for free.

Corsair makes watercooling affordable, but at the cost of quality. The H100i GTX is noisy and not very efficient, but its enough to keep your stuff cool for as long as it works.

Back to the OP though, none of the AIOs are good cheap options for a stock CPU, he can get something good that will last a long time for under $40 dollars so this discussion is pointless here.

And that is what I want proof of instead of being expected to prove better radiators cool better. ;)
