Ikea desk gallery

What is a fair price for a corner desk black galant with one extension? A legs if it matters. Used.

So I purchased a galant corner desk with an extension for $110 on craigslist. When I saw it it was great. Put it together at the house and now the extension and my desk are not flush. Probably a 1/4 inch gap and it is really bugging me. Don't remember the gap when I first saw it. Anyone know how I could go about fixing it. Thinking I might've overtightened something(I didn't think I did).

Sorry to hear that. It could be a defect? and the reason why that person sold it?...Try taking it apart and starting over, flat on the floor making sure the extension are flushed, then tighten where it cant budge and go from there, might be the frame with the issue?

Sadly, my eight-year old Galant is sagging noticeably where I connected two table tops. I think I just overloaded the weight and it's taken its toll over time. Worse, though, is there are no Ikea desks/tables I can consider as replacements. Their current models are pretty awful, IMO. :(

is it the wood that warped or the legs? Ikea sells a bunch of different legs you could use

Actually, it's the metal frame under the wood that's warped. I went to my local Ikea store hoping to find replacement frame pieces, but they had nothing for Galant desks except A-legs. :(

moved to a plp setup on the jerker. I think I'm going to like this better then 3 up top.

Galant comes with a 10 year warranty. Do you have your sales receipt?

Standing may not be so great for you either.

What kind of chair are you using? Maybe upgrade THAT first?

Ikea Fredde - I apologize if this has been asked an answered already... Does anyone have the measurements of just the bottom shelves (i.e. the ones meant for the system)?

Here is my current desk.

Ikea Bekant corner desk. I don't want to stand while using a PC so its the regular model.
Excuse the mess. Just finished painting/setting up and assembling the desktop.

Makes me want to find arms for my 2006 Jerker... Would fit my HP Micro server perfectly.

Speaking of, my 2006 Jerker with recently added free standing monitor shelf and RGB led strip, both from Ikea. Holds my 3 24" monitors with more room for my KB (Razer chroma KB and mouse) and speakers and misc shit. Crap ass cell phone picture, I'll take better shots after I move.

My wife grumbles every time we move and I still hold on to the Jerker.

Interested in selling a shelf or two?

Solved my left-side sagging Galant problem without having to drop $450+ on a whole new desk. :)

Finally cleaned up the cables under the desk. Also sold that big SVS cylinder subwoofer and replaced it with a new SB-2000 tucked under the desk. I love how everything turned out. :)

Yeah, 8 years of heavy audio equipment took their toll on my poor Galant. I removed that extra piece on the left, attached the legs to the main large desk, moved the PC to the right side, and put the printer on that separate stand. All worked out quite well in the end.

SVS cylinder sub it is -- PC12-NSD. I actually am going to replace it with one of the new SVS compact sealed subs, the SB-2000. The PC12 really is more suited to home theater. It was a foolish impulse buy a couple years ago. Just need to find someone who wants a good sub at a cheap price.

I think this is a Galant, with two rounded extensions on either end. My work projects tend to sprawl across any open desk space, so we went long on this one.

interested on how you have the top monitor mounted

the Dell 24" was a little too heavy for the mount so I placed a small box underneath the arm to the desired height. (the pic is before I moved to the single 24" but you get the idea)

Yes they did. However, ikea sold a TON of Galant desks, so there's a lot of them out there. Check your classifieds, etc for "office desks" or "ikea desks".

There's always 3-4 sets for sale in my "local" (100 miles) classifieds.

You guys might also wanna check out EuropeGiant Classified Ads if you're in Europe ... I got great deals for furniture on there and it serves all the european countries. It's a great platform for those in Europe. IKEA stuff tend to break easily when it's time to move things out or moving to another apartment or house. It's amazing how you can get legit and solid second hand things for really cheap , things should be worth more.I just thought of sharing.

I would like to get this...

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10116651/

But I would also like a pull out keyboard tray to house my mouse and keyboard. Does Ikea sell something like this? I have searched the website but have come up empty. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Put this together for my girlfriend this weekend. Linnmon table top and a Kallax storage unit with a couple of legs. She loves it. Going to be picking her up a couple of used monitors tomorrow to replace the Lenovo display for a dual monitor setup, just need to order a pole for them.

That's nice.

Did you use any adhesive on the table-top or is it just sitting on the shelving unit?
