Windows 10 data mining has been caught

Good grief,

he has released the code for that Destroy Windows Spying and updated his source here so you can see it has nothing to hide. Its C# and can open with Visual Studio 2013 and compile for yourself if you want
https://github.com/Nummer/Destroy-Windows-10-Spying/tree/master/DWS
I think he just hate this windows spying as some of the rest of us me included
Pictures mean nothing and translations between different languages takes on things that sometime are not correct

I prefer and use W10Privacy cause it can do more things right now.

but bro, a Guy Fawkes mask bro!

Ooh yeah I'm afraid of that. Shaking in my britches LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. He is most likely associated with the hacking scene as some of those use that

Any of you NAYSAYERS about MS intentions been watching their PORTS?
Why the crap is it opening ports to my Windows Explorer MR brilliant?
I'm seeing this in CurrPorts and added Firewall rules to block. See what happens

This is the point we are at. People are more afraid of MS spying on them than taking advice from tinfoil hat blogs and downloading mystery programs.

That's because Microsoft is pals with the NSA and Guy Fawkes isn't. :p

It still needs to be pointed out that DRM+Microsoft has fucked gamers over and it is not appreciated and won't go forgotten. Microsoft fucked gamers over with GFWL too.

And this may be true but on PCs it ain't like there's many folks doing much better right now. Steam is still 95% Windows. Few are bothering with much else. The Steam Box running Steam OS will come in November maybe and few developers or gamers will care.

DRM is an issue with the games that it is implemented into. How is it an operating system issue or Microsoft's problem in any way?

Do you also blame your Phone/Tablet OS when you download a shitty app?

so, youre laughing about the nsa data collecting issue huh? gee, i can see you have some big brain on you bro, oh my, im impressed.

Nobody cares about your weird porn fetishes, not even the NSA.

Microsoft allowed insecure software into Windows and even used it themselves so they are very much to blame. I noticed you conveniently left out GFWL too which is purely a Microsoft created fiasco.

nothing weird about liking tall slender fit white blond bishes or those blue-eyed pale raven-like dark haired beauties, and thats not the point.
Right on Bro being normal

Its my PC, i'll pay a price for a version that is 100% FREE of this crap or wait on EU to sue these retards for a F version, FREE of this crap for ALL

Right on Bro being normal

hmm.. i *may* have some slight issue with girls wearing cat/bunny ears headbands and also whith japanese/asian woman plus combined with these aforementioned acessories, its a minor thing though, i guess i watch too much anime :p

It's obvious, he either is purposefully trolling all of us skeptics, works for MS/federal government or just doesn't give a fuck he's being spied on. Possibly a combination of all three. Do what I do and learn to ignore it, you won't win a war of words with people who are like this.

And, +1 for brunettes and Japanese women. Problem with the latter is they typically want to only date Japanese men. It's a cultural thing.

Anyone who dismisses the idea that the NSA is out to get you is working for the NSA. Also, bishes.

This thread is fucking hilarious.

Just get out the tinfoil and start making those hats, they'll never find your info then!

I wonder how many of you who are criticizing MS for data mining have already given it all up on Facebook.

Why would you think anybody who is concerned about privacy wouldn't care or know about Facebook's privacy issues?

False equivalency. Facebook you can close a browser tab and never return. Windows 10 you can't escape it because it's baked right into the DNA of the OS, and even when you "disable" telemetry in the settings there's still an encrypted outbound datastream. Even when you "disable" Cortana it's still there in the running processes in task manager.

It's really not a hardthink concept to grasp why a $200 paid OS spying on you might be bad if not anti-consumer, especially when a PC is typically what people are creating potentially sensitive things on - financial or personal data for example - rather than just reading/consuming things on (like a tablet or phone). And the biggest problem isn't what Microsoft does with that data, but when those boneheads get hacked and someone else gets access to it.

Every idiot knows you need lead shielding around your house/apartment to stop espionage on your wifi. Tin foil hats are only good for low wattage mind control signals or reading off NSA brain implants.

Get yer facts straight!

SRSLY - this thread is on the express elevator to hell. The support rails are already glowing cherry red from all the friction.

That's quite wrong. Everything you stored to Facebook remains at Facebook even after you close the tab. Facebook also continues to track you with tracking cookies and who knows what shady methods even when you're not using the service.

Also Win10 you can easily escape, just use an alternative OS. Plenty of them available.

actually tinfoil hats have been shown to increase mind control signals rather than deflect them in scientific testing.

Some one made a good point about this when another member brought up a similar point about using a service like GMail, and Google having access to that data.

When it comes to online services, YOU DON'T OWN THEM. You don't purchase a copy of Facebook or GMail. They are free services. I also understand the risk that comes with that, and that I shouldn't go posting anything on FB I don't want out in the open. It's not private and anyone who thinks it is, is stupid.

That all said, you do purchase copies of Windows. Windows is a product NOT a service. BIG difference there. That's where my issues are. I am NOT okay with a company selling me something I am supposed to own, something that should be private if I want it to be, then going and pulling a stunt like this. Not cool.

well like you said you dont purchase facebook or gmail, and you also dont purchase windows 10 so why exactly do you expect it to be any different?

Uh, yes, you do purchse/pay for W10. I know you have an *option* to do the free upgrade; even with the 'free' upgrade you've already purchased W10 if you have purchased W7 or W8. Last I checked it's also for sale. You don't need to have a valid product key to activate FB or GMail... There is also still the point of Windows being a product and not a service. Which is enforced by the fact that Windows litteraly has "product key".

well i dont know why you would pay for it when you can get it free and the w10 upgrade wasnt included for free as part of the deal back when you purchased w7 or w8 but regardless of any of that it appears they are trying to transition from paid product to a free service and compete with google/android and apple/ios. good or bad, like it or not I dont see it changing in the near future. personally im sticking with w7 as there are no new gotta have cant live without features in w10, and in fact much of the changes i dislike, dont need or want.

Are you saying that people who buy Windows 10 direct from retail get treated different?

no, im pretty sure they wouldnt, im just saying i dont know anyone who would actually pay for it.

Wether or not you personally do or do not know anyone who would pay for a copy is completely irrelevant, and does not change the FACT that W10 is for sale, it is a product not a free service, it requires a valid license to use (free services do not), and thus should be treated as an end-user product, not a tool/service for harvesting personal data off of a PERSONAL COMPUTER.

Then what you said previously has no basis.
Its not our fault you dont know many people or have little fore sight, its probably better that you dont project it on others.

I'm not a fan of windows 10 but you talk crap.

Then I will stop production immediately and switch to a iron/lead/iron sandwich based process. The gnomes working the metal shops will be pissed, but I don't care at this point. :p

But the truth is that this is exactly what is being done with it. Windows isn't the product anymore, we are. The brilliance of the whole thing is that there is someone out there either jumping at the chance for a "free" upgrade, or is actually dumb enough to pay for the privilege.

Why would you think anybody who is concerned about privacy wouldn't care or know about Facebook's privacy issues?

Ignorance is bliss (for those mining people's data).

I'm fully aware of that part. Which is one of the areas that gets me going as much as it does. Due to the avarege idiot that walks into a Best Buy, Costco, or any place that sells W10 notebooks/tablets, they can "get away with it". I'm just saying, I along with almost every other user paid money to own something not use something. Keeping that clear line is key, because obously MS wants to blurr that line to the point where it's gone. People who argue it's free, well, it's not. If you've paid for a W7/8/8.1 Key, you've baught W10 already. MS is a business, they are not going to just take a massive loss like that.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Some one paid for it.

While i understand what youre saying and i dont necessarily disagree with your way of thinking it seems to be a thing of the past. Pretty much everything connected to the internet these days is harvesting your data and using it for something. What can you do about? nothing, except for not use the product/service in question if you dont like how it treats your data/privacy. Stick with w7, or go linux. why would you want w10 anyway? theres nothing new thats groundbreaking or innovative. Microsoft is just trying to play catch up to google/android and they are failing miserably.

Nope, there isn't such a thing. We are paying for it with absolutely no privacy.

It's one thing to have it (data collection) on mobile devices, but desktops/laptops with potentially much more sensitive things on it is a big issue.
