Nexus M ( 2015 ) Smartphone

Yeah I know....

But, shit I think the SD820 will be the best SOC when it comes out. I really want it.

I wonder what other phone might have it...

All the Spring Flagships will have the SD820;

- HTC One M10
- Galaxy S7
- LG G5
- OnePlus Three
- Sony Z6

Really surprised on the lack of solid good leaks on the supposed Huawei Nexus 6X

The LG Nexus 5X has leaked all over, with good pictures, spec;s, pricing, etc...

The Huawei is all but rumors right now, nothing concrete like the LG Nexus. Makes me question if there will even be a 5.7" Huawei Nexus this year ? Google has never released two different Nexus phones at the same time, only one.

Kirin 950 is the same big.LITTLE design as the current exynos, just manufactured by TSMC's original 16nm design process.

So I talked to a rep from LG today (I work for one of the major carriers) and got almost no real info other then that I should be able to order it from the play store at the end of the month.. Also that the camera was not shit like it was on the N5. And even those answers were not direct.. so really I got nothing that everyone didn't already know.

um...so the only thing you told us that we didn't already know is you work for a major cell phone carrier.

thanks bruH.

Hopefully by then Google can give reliable versions of Androids as well that Nexus owners dont have to update to a newer version every 2 months to fix old bugs and new ones that are created with the new update

We are now two weeks away from the supposed Nexus announcement on Sept. 29th, and nothing new regarding the Huawei Nexus this month, while the LG Nexus 5X we've seen pics, spec's, price, etc...

Not sure we will see that phone this year. Looking like the LG is their one and only Nexus phone release this Fall, which makes sense, the LG Nexus 5 was very popular, it was a comfortable size and affordable price.

I personally would have loved to see a Note 5 sized and build quality in a Nexus.

You know, if the Nexus 6 really had no compromise besides the microSD, I would've gotten it. As it stands, I want a good camera and good battery life as well.

I'd wager a guess the camera will be decent at least. LG has really stepped up their game in that department, so I don't see them stepping too far backwards.

I dont think it will be very far backwards... But I dont see it being as good as the G4's.. Though I may be surprised

I'd be disappointed if Google cheaps out and not use the Kirin 950 like Huawei is on every flagship they are releasing in the fall/winter... Maybe it's the radios.

All the Huawei Nexus rumors the past month+ have all been showing the SD810 as the processor.

Makes me question how small of an upgrade or side grade really is it compared to the Motorola's Nexus 6 ? The SD805 on last years Nexus 6 isn't bad, and compared to the 810, I think I'll take a little less performance, for a cooler running chip, and less issues. They both have the same 3GB RAM, they both have AMOLED 1440p screens, they both have the same 32GB / 64GB drives.

Looking at it closely now, what really does the Huawei offer over the Moto Nexus 6 ? The SD810 upgrade, and the rumored nicer metal high quality build ?

Motorola Nexus = $349
Huawei Nexus = Rumored price of $649

wow.. I've seen that cpu mentioned a few times but never looked it up.. :( if those benchmarks are true I'd love to have it! Usually my n6 is plenty fast, but I've noticed a scenario it crawls with, testing with my n9 it worked fine.. (n9 cpu is a beast like the 950)

Sadly if it launches without such a powerful cpu I will wait until next year..

Doesn't the Nexus 9 Tablet use the ' NVIDIA Tegra K1 ' processor ? How does that compare to the Kirin 950 ? Reading up on the Kirin 950, it's a beast, better than Samsung's 7420 by like 20% to 30%, but it's a 2016 chip, not being released this year. So the K950 will go up against the SD820

Anyways, it's a solid bet that Google sticks with Qualcomm again for their Nexus phones, like they have been for years, so SD810 is what we'll get.

geekbench shows a 1887 single core 3208 multi (dual) score for the K1 denver I just wish it was available in something smaller.

Just a little over a week away from the official announcement.

Super pumped to see real live up close pics of both phones, and official specs. And official Android 6.0 Marshmallows too :) :)

Huawei Nexus 6P could be a real winner. Same size screen and high quality build and overall size as the Note 5. But the Huawei is supposed to have a large 3,450mAh battery, and dual front facing speakers.

Bring it on.

I'm patiently waiting :)

Looking forward. Its the mid tier is good, I might swap my LG G3. I want stock Andriod :)

Just waiting on the 5X pricing and carrier/Verizon compatibility before I decide on the Moto X Pure I think.

I'm eager to play with the 6P in hand, but good grief, what an ugly looking phone. Looking at the cases being advertised on amazon they should cover up that stupid black bar.

Did they add a notification LED back in? or is google still done with those and we're all supposed to love the iOS notifcation bubbles?

Holy bezels Batman :p

Those large bezels, plus the software nav keys, take up so much space. Compare that side by side to the Note 5 with the same size 5.7" screen, very small top and bottom bezels, and hardware keys in the bottom bezels, giving you actual more usable screen real estate.

Over dimensions of both 5.7" phones;

- Huawei Nexus 6P = 159.4 x 77.3 x 6.6/8.5 mm @ 184 grams
- Note 5 = 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm @ 171 grams

The overall footprint of the Note 5 is a smaller, thinner and lighter device, with more useful screen due to no software nav keys.

Plus the SD810 fireplace in the Nexus 6P sort of scares me away. I am a huge Nexus fan, just owned the Nexus 6 for almost a year, and was all set on getting the Nexus 6P, but last month I decided to try out the T-Mobile Note 5, I rooted it and installed a custom ROM, and this thing is a beast. Super smooth, warp speed fast, and with the Material Dark theme + Nova launcher + Lollipop icon packs, this Note 5 looks just like my nexus 6, but is faster, has a night and day better camera, and beautiful display.

Z, you should start a side business setting up customized phones. Buyer ships you the phone, you tweak it for a fee and ship back the Z-phone.

Your Note 5 setup sounds excellent.

Black color option is going to be hotly popular for this reason.

He'll probably do it for free since he enjoys it. Kind of tempted to pick up a Tmo Note 5 just to see the difference even though I'm happy with stock and Package Disabler app to strip everything I don't need.

IMO the Nexus 6P is one of those phones I need to see in person, and play with it, see what it looks like in real life, how much larger it is compered to my compact Note 5. Is the 6P display close to as good as the Note 5's ? Camera ?

No way I'd order this phone off Google Play Store sight unseen, no way. I need to see this thing up close, and decide.

The black one looks good. Now I just need confirmation it uses an AMOLED display, and what generation.
