It sounds like they’re going all out after 2017’s Kong: Skull Island and pitting the giant ape versus Godzilla himself. But wait—how is that going to be a fair fight, when the lizard is 100 meters tall?

In what would be a pretty epic pairing, the Godzilla sequel that is in the works will be followed by a movie that pits the giant ape versus the giant fire breathing reptile. I’m told this is happening very quickly with moves going all the way to Japan, where Godzilla rights holder Toho is based. Legendary, which moved from Warner Bros to Universal, had developed the Skull Island film at the latter studio.

They will probably do something similar to the original movie of King Kong vs Godillza, they made King Kong around a 1/3rd of Godzilla's height.

this is the only way this movie makes sense.

New Godzilla 500 ft tall. King Kong: 50' tall.

Gojira would use Kong as a toothpick.

You mean 2/3 of the height. KK head is about G shoulder height in the 1962 version.

Now recreate mighty joe young and just destroy all the claymation films I loved as a child.

Hope they do a better job with Kong this time around, even by TOHO's standards back then the costume was horrible. But I'm glad to see them resume the series,Hollywood just can't get the Big G right.

In the end they shoot you but you teach is bout stuff...

The premise sounds utterly boring to me.

It was still better than the one for Son of Godzilla or King Ceasar.

GOJIRA!!!!!!!!

Maybe the proper winner will win this time.

I thought so. Took an online survey a couple of weeks ago for this.

Only way they could make this work is if they make the King Kong massively oversized.

...or use the american Godzilla. *urp* :x Sorry, suddenly threw up a bit in my mouth.

Whose to say Kong didn't eat a radioactive candy bar or somethin' and grow like x10 his normal size?? ;)

Will this Godzilla sequel be as impossibly dark to see as the last one? I can't even tell what happened the last 30 minutes of the movie.

That was a big beef I had with the movie, especially considering how little we saw of Godzilla to begin with. Even the fight scenes weren't that great since they were just brief skirmishes in between boring scenes of the human characters. If they actually use some of Godzilla's old opponents from the Toho films in the next sequel as reported,I hope they get better screen time in decent fights,or it will be a waste.

Personally I'd like to see, Mechagodzilla vs Dragonzord but that's just me. :p

Incredible Hulk vs Godzilla?

Transformers vs Godzilla?

Predator vs Godzilla?

Jurassic Park vs Godzilla?

you know what I wish? That they'd just go all out and give us a movie tihat we all want.

Monsters fighting the hell out of other giant monsters.

Get rid of the stupid human storyline that plagued the last Godzilla movie (and took up about 90% of the movie) and just have it be about Godzilla and King Kong (hell throw in Mothra) and have them fighting a huge horde of other giant monsters.

Just go completely and utterly over the top with it's action and effects, think "Mad Max: Fury Road" but with giant friggin monsters!

I honestly don't get why the studios and Toho don't realize THAT is what many people want to see.

However time and time again they just focus the movies on human characters and make Godzilla or the others a backdrop that shows up a short time during the movie.

I don't know a single person that liked the human storyline of the last Godzilla movie, yet they loved every single time Godzilla was on screen.
