Mad Max (2015)

I'm not having issues with fuel, it just seems like in game where it's supposed to matter you would be able to determine how much fuel is in a container. But like you and others have said, apparently it doesn't make much difference either way.

Yes I agree with you, I found it odd early on that you couldn't tell how much fuel or water were in containers.

Man, this game is absolutely fantastic. The setting keeps bringing me back. I am switching between this and Witcher 3 and having the time of my life.

Both games offer so much value. I have some serious ADD when playing this game though.

I looked and Green Man has it for 40% off.......is it worth it?

Not trying to be sarcastic, I'd like to buy this game but the reviews are so mixed.

The dude just said "this game is absolutely fantastic", how much more clarification do you need? lol.

I agree completely, very good game. I'm surprised by the mixed reviews.

I can't distract myself from WIII yet to get this......nice to know as soon as I am done though that I have a nother great game to look forward to.

I think it has mixed reviews because like many open-world games of this nature, many of the side activities get pretty repetitive and tedious after awhile. It was the same with Far Cry 3/4, GTA, etc. Just for some reason, depending on how much hype the game gets (or how much $$$ reviewers get...), some reviewers tend to overlook this issue.

It's a lot of fun...not a $60 title but for the $20 I paid I'm getting my money's worth.

I also think that with these games you have to be invested in the world it presents. Shadow of Mordor would not appeal to those looking for a modern military soldier/shooter, nor would Mad Max appeal to someone who wasn't already interested in the apocalyptic desert "road warrior" world.

The fact that it has mixed reviews is really testament to the plot and setting (environment) making up part of the appeal; maybe even on equal footing with the gameplay.

Yeah the atmosphere and environment are outstanding, actually far exceeding the gameplay IMO.

Yeah. While every single game that uses a similar setting owes their existence to Mad Max it's not exactly a unique setting for a video game. If the game and it's world don't grab you you will have trouble really getting into it because nothing it does gameplay wise is new or even done in a unique way.

Thanks for the input.

I bit and ordered on GMG.

I like the atmosphere it presents and hope I enjoy it as much as everyone says.

thanks again.:D

What a big meh game. Someone upthread described it along the lines of infinitely easy and I couldn't agree more. The storyline is uninspiring; the scenery is generic; the missions are spin, rinse, and repeat. It's like they only wanted to have a product out to capitalize on the film and didn't even really try. The potential they had with this franchise was entirely misspent.

In a time that has recently gave us Dragon Age Inquisition, Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid, and with Fallout 4 coming on the horizon, Max is simply getting his doors blown off.

Felt like I was promised steak and given Dinki-Di.

Well, for me DA:I was the biggest pile of turd released, that promised a lot, but was just based on fedex, gathering grindfest, that bored me halfthrough it which also had such an uninspiring story with bland characters. I can't even force myself to finish it for 2nd time (untill someone finally puts console codes for money/xp)

Buit, coming back to game - there is a camp just north-west from Jeet's base - in that territory where that Jaws gate is located, which is supposed to get 10 piles of scrap, and I can only find 9. Been through all of the rooms, got the pumps, got the insignias, but can't find the last piece, so I can get 100% sync with this camp.

Putting a little more time in this and taking a little break from MGS5 atm.

I just got to Jeets stronghold and after that, can someone tell me where/how you can get new car bodies and outfit them? I have the Ripper dlc but where can you use it?

Also in regards to Max's "look/clothing" is it just a linear progression? or are there outfits and things you can find as loot? Don't much care for the homeless look he starts with lol, I need my leather jacket.

You get clothes by getting challenges done and advancing your rank. Then you can buy new things. Just enter Max menu, and check which rank you need for the jacket.

Curious, how much did you buy the game for?

It's really strange how some people are hating on this game hardcore... I just see an extremely solid and well done game that pays homage to Mad Max really well. This is one of the few titles where I'm honestly confused that anyone could not like it at all and call it garbage. I definitely get some of the criticism (it's not perfect, and neither are the very best games out there) but it's not deserving of some of these comments IMHO.

Unfortunately some people think games have to constantly meet or surpass the bar from them to be enjoyable. Luckily I can just enjoy games for what they are, games.

I paid 19.99 and have already got my monies worth out of it. Its fun, looks good, and has kept me entertained for the past 5 hours.

Once again, how much did you buy the game for?

I think it obviously makes a huge difference how much one paid for the game.

I and many others who paid $20-30 for it, feel like the game is just great! Not perfect, but great.

If I had paid $60 though, I think there would have been a part of me that would be disappointed as although I think it's a great game, I can tell it's not on the same level as GTAV, MGSV, the Arkham series, or even Shadow of Mordor.

Huge fan of the movies, really liking the game A LOT. Paid $20 for it.

The game was recently for 15 bucks and some change on cdkeys.com. If you are still not buying you are a moron. There I said it. :p

Btw having a blast with the game. About 6-7 hours in.

Same here. I'm about 10 hours in and the more that Mad Max unlocks new abilities, the more I'm enjoying it.

Really enjoying Mad Max. Love taking down convoys. Was attacking one the other day and a storm rolled in, was intense and very much reminiscent of Fury Road.

Anyone know if this game is Duel Core limited? I have an 8400 Intel Duo, so wanted to check before I purchase

No disagreement there, but I had a specific reason for asking how much he bought the game for. The actual pricepoint isn't the issue. Let's just say people that pay zero for a game tend to have a certain flippant and belligerent way of shit-talking it, you know "LOL itz trash already uninstalled it" or some longer winded version of that. You can spot them a mile away. They've got nothing invested, so they don't value it. Everything is just joyless mediocrity. And for these people I don't care what their particular opinion on a game is since they don't factor.

Enjoying the game, but now stuck at the 'Wasteland Classic' glitch.

Love the fights. Never been a fight game type but this translates to the PC without a controller. Fury chains once you unlock more makes fast death to crowds. or kicking them off ladders, or haymaker from beyond the doorway.

I want a speedometer. Looks like I'm going insanely fast.

Chumbucket is a freaking marksmark. Loves to rip drivers outta their car.

Strayed into a 4/5 area too early. Freakin ninja boys and feral kids were tough till I leveled a little more.

I still haven't received the ripper dlc

You checked in the DLC section of the Steam game properties and it's not there, or what?

Honestly you aren't missing much...it's just a body type for the car. Though IMO it is pretty cool, but it's not really needed and doesn't give you any sort of advantage as far as I can tell.

What is the "glitch" you're referring to? That quest is probably not bugged but rather it's a little confusing. You have to install all the parts that have the green dot on them in the garage; the armor isn't available yet, though. Just install the available parts with green dots and that will pop up a new quest marker on your map.
