RTS based on Warhammer series I see they have a new game like every 6 months or less.
They need a sequel to Warhammer online....

I would love a fantasy version of Total War, although I hear dealing with Games Workshop is a bitch.

They didn't call this Total Warhammer? Missed a golden opportunity right there!

This should be amazing if they can get the hero units feeling like they do in the tabletop game!

ROME 2 sucked, they need to go back and fire the people that created that shitty UI.

What sucked was that with Empire: TW they offered a great "minimal" Ui which in turn became the default style that led to Shogun 2's minimal UI, then they just up and went back to some fucking 90's "take up half the damn screen" UI and offered no minimal UI even as an option.

Total War: Fantasy was the game I've wanted to play since first trying a Total War game. If they've somehow got the Warhammer license... oh man. Elves, Undead, Orcs & Goblins, Skaven, Lizardmen, Chaos... so much diversity.

Ditto, been waiting for it for a long time. Very eager.

Just remember to wait 12 months after release for a somewhat-working product, since it's a Total War game.

Would have preferred the W40K Universe, but Ill still get it.

There's already been a ton of great Warhammer 40k strategy games from the Company of heroes devs.

There's only been a couple not based on them.

Maybe it'd be neat if they used both?

So like you start off with the early fantasy type of things and as you build up you civ and time passes you shift more toward the 40k things at later stages?

I totally just bought 3 more 40k novels because of this thread and reinstalled all the Dawn of War 2 games.

I'm such a nerd.... :(

eww Warhammer Total war? Really?

What they should do is fire the people responsible for Rome 2, re-hire the people who worked on Medieval 2, fix the goddamn engine, and make another historical game that fixes everything that Rome 2 broke.

It baffles me to this day that they didn't hire and basically flat out rejected the Darthmod guy.

HIs mods were excellent and improved upon the AI and things so much, CA basically ignored him and didn't even want his help even though many TW fans thought it'd be a perfect fit and he'd be able to deliver what CA seems not to be capable of doing in regards to AI and such.

I got Total War Rome for free from Intel Retail Edge game is interesting damn if I have enough time to play it.

I don't think Darth's contributions to CA would've mattered much had they hired him. CA hired Jack Lusted, a former TW modder renowned for his work on Terrae Expugnandae (RTW) and Lands to Conquer (M2TW). It was under his watch that the AI/gameplay fuck up (yet financial success) known as R2TW was unfurled upon the masses.

To say the least, I hope that the massive IP backing on this one would improve the odds that we get a properly QA'd and designed TW game this time around. The marriage of these two franchises is a dream come true for me.

(edit)

It's going to use the latest version of Warscape. Le sigh... not very happy with that engine....

Will-CA said:
Actually, Warscape is a subsystem of the TW3 Engine that deals with graphics rendering, so what you see graphically on the battlefield. Yes, it is iterated on alongside the rest of the TW3 Engine and the latest version is a part of the technology behind Total War: WARHAMMER.

They are gonna set a franchise record for having the most DLCs with this title. Bank on dat!

The Creative Assembly released Rome 2 unfinished - and now they think I'm going to give them another $60?

How about this, give me back my $60 first, and then I'll consider it.

Imo people should be wary of these guys. I don't trust anything these liars say until I have the game in my hands to judge for myself.

In fact I'll tell you right what's going to happen. They're gonna have the same shitty AI, and unfinished BS, bugs, etc. They will release it and its a pos(and then patch it later like 5,000 times) but before this happens they will show you videos to wow you on how amazing the game looks (even though I bet the final product won't even come close to looking like what they showed on vids). They will make interviews on how revolutionary and amazing the NEW AI is. LOL They will do the same bullshit crap they pulled with rome total war 2. Creative Liars.

Yeah, just a cinematic trailer. Since its CA I'm not that thrilled or interested. Their games are so buggy anymore its not even funny.

Looks better then Warmachine Tactics =) worse controls every for a strategy game...

I'd much prefer another historical TW. A WW1/2 era TW would be awesome.
