Monster 16 oz Energy Drink 2/$3.00 at Rite Aid

Cocaine can still be bought at various interstate gas stations as well as Amazon, however for Monster single 16oz cans, local WalMart sells them for $0.86 along with Rockstar, I fail to see how even $0.99 is a good deal. I don't buy them often, do places really charge $1.50 per can o_O

Energy drinks are pretty bad for you... just like a soft drink except arguably worse. I dont know why anyone is even arguing that.

I take back what I said, I guess they were on a sale, just checked and $1.39 per can.

I once drank a Four Loko before a job interview and began to feel god-like, as if I could rule every living thing.

That interview didn't work out.

I drank two of them and danced for 4 hours at a frat house one time. Went through a half dozen dancing partners who were too hot or too tired to continue.

My local grocery has sugar free Rockstar 4 for $5 regular price. Best I can find.

If you need some energy eat right and get enough sleep.

Quote for every age, and the truth. However the problem is work schedules can conflict with your sleep schedule, and some people don't stick to sleep schedules very well by nature. Either that or we form terrible sleep habits over time (college, high school, etc). These are really hard to take out.

That being said even throughout college and pretty much all of my life, I never took energy drinks despite my terrible sleep schedule. I very rarely used coffee, too. Usually the most I have drunk regularly is green tea (usually Yogi Kombucha) and even that degrades my ability to go to sleep over time. It's kind of a subtle thing too! Like it's not much of a real energy boost, but I noticed as I was drinking that tea regularly, I started having restlessness going to sleep for no real reason. At first I didn't attribute it to that, but when I stopped (this had to happen for at least a few weeks), I went to sleep much easier. Now I stay away from any sort of caffeine, be it 5mg or 10mg. I'd prefer to work tired and feeling like crap, because I know the alternative is worse. If you have a job that practically requires energy drinks, then you need a new job.

Now everyone reacts to a drug differently, but I'd be careful with any kind of energy boost. Your body is compensating somewhere. You don't just get joules for free. And with the way the human body works, it'll keep running just fine for a while (maybe even years). You're a biological machine after all. You have all this stuff that's compensating for any terrible life choices that you make automatically in an effort to keep you going. But one day if anything does go wrong, it's just going to hit you like a truck. Something's gonna snap.

i would think if you have a high stress job you shouldn't taking any kind of energy drink

gonna drink yourself into an early grave

Indeed. Let's counteract the stress-induced heart attack with sugar-induced diabetes from an "energy drink".

There's sugar free options... Not that it justifies all the other junk in it, but yea.

I love how these threads turn into a nutrition circle-jerk and nobody has the concept of moderation.

I can't really see a situation where drinking Monster at work due to stress would ever be in moderation. Even one a day isn't moderate given the sugar content in a single can of the regular Monster.

The concept of moderation exists where a dosage exists that, taken at some regular interval, would still allow you to return to the steady state you were at before the dosage. This has to be without any form of degradation at all or side effects, obviously. Does moderation exists for these? I don't know. Like I said, I don't drink them. I know that a dose of caffeine every with moderation is fine. After all caffeine is found in nature and we have probably been drinking tea and coffee since the 15-16th century or so. I don't know what the regular dosage and interval for specifically energy drinks would be.

I haven't had Cocaine (the drink) in a while. I should pick up a case.

I used to have the founder's contact info on my phone for some reason.

The caffeine isn't really the problem.

The trick is to not drink the regular Monster. The sugar-free options tend to taste pretty good, I think it throws some people off since like Diet Red Bull tastes absolutely horrible. There's plenty of no-sugar no-carb no-calorie ones that taste good like Spike I mentioned.

Drink a sugar free one then. I can't stand the regular sugar energy drinks, they make me crash so hard. I have maybe 2 or 3 energy drinks a week. Some weeks I don't have any.

I drink a $1.95 Starbucks coffee everyday during lunch, with a power bar. Sometimes, go back in for a free refill, before heading back to work. Makes me feel sophisticated.

Just get an Nespresso machine, the capsules cost 75 cents and it's 100 times better than Monster drinks. A guy at work brings whole cases in (wife works for Monster) and no one drinks them because of all the shit they put in it.
