Nvidia GeForce GTX TITAN X Owners Club

Yeah Im a bit bummed out about the looks of the ACX 2.0, but based on my precious experience, I cant argue with the performance.

Before running my 2 x Titan Xs in SLI, I was running 2 x GTX 980s in SLI. (Dual slot spacing in both cases so plenty of airflow between the cards, not like that crazy "sandwiched SLI" you often see). But my 980s were "mis-matched", they were both EVGA cards but one was the reference model (standard nvidia cooler) and one was a much newer model (I purchased off eBay later) with the ACX 2.0 cooling solution. The ACX 2.0 model was ALWAYS running a MUCH lower fan RPM than the reference card. Again, dual slot spacing with equal case airflow directed toward each card.

So I'm pretty stocked they made the same cooler for the Titan X. I think the reference cooling solution looks much cleaner and nicer, but when it comes to fan noise (which is all I care about, i don't give a shit about temps as long as they stay below 80C while gaming) I'm gonna bet the ACX cooler kicks the stock coolers ass.

If you only care about noise, get the hybrid cooler. Pretty damn quiet. You can hear the pump "gurgle" for a few minutes on boot, but after that it's just the radiator fan which is pretty quite. I've got mine in the front of my case and about level with my head/ears and it's not very noticeable at all 3ft away. Stock was a completely different story and got very loud within a minute or so of running firestrike.

I'd be wary about going with 2 ACX coolers in a SLI rig. The top card will heat up like crazy from all the heat from the second card being dumped on it since the ACX cooler doesn't dump the heat out of the case.

Some people don't have the room for multiple AIO coolers. A good air cooler like the ACX 2.0+ is a good alternative.

Good point, I didnt think of that. Too late, i already ordered a pair of them and they shipped. If I don't like the noise performance of the cards in SLI, i guess i will put the OEM coolers back on and live with the fact I just wasted 160 bucks.

To the poster who suggested hybrid coolers, yeah as another poster said, my case doesn't have the room to cleanly handle a pair of those and still look nice (I have a big side window and spent a lot of time and money on stuff like custom sleeved PSU cables etc to make it look cool)

Well, my Titan X showed up... water-block and back plate still en-route. Extra day to clean the case...lol

Love it when people write these kind of reviews:

I am not writing this review for gaming purposes. This review is for the video editor who uses Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and After Effects CS6 exclusively. I bought this card to replace my EVGA GTX 770 classified to speed up my work in Premiere Pro and After Effects CS6. The card is still not approved by ADOBE on a Windows PC. You can manually do it by following the directions of the professionals at Studio 1 Productions. Once done, the card works great. My serious problem came with After Effects CS6. The Titan X or any of the new Maxwell cards DO NOT come with the OptiX Library that is needed for ray tracing. There is no information from Nvidia if it will be available later but it seems that it is highly unlikely. If you are looking for a high performance card without paying the Quadro price and upgrading to After Effects CC, this card is not the one yet. Kepler is still the architecture if you have not upgraded to AE CC yet. If you use it for Premiere Pro only, you will not have any issues.

So, it's EVGA or Nvidia's fault that Adobe hasn't supported the GPU?

He's right in saying Maxwell is not yet supported in the OptiX ray tracing library. The latest version, 3.5, was released in March last year. Maxwell came out in October. But it's the reviewer's fault for not doing their homework. Should have looked for a used Titan Black instead :p.

Yeah, I thought it was clear that Titan X did not replace Titan Black for entry-Quadro purposes.

Anyone able to oc their card for the Witcher 3? I'm using the latest drivers, and any oc causes driver crashes. I'm on a SC so it's already at 1270 or whatever. My temps are always under 70c on air.

Latest drivers will cause crashes. Use the previous version, I've found them to be very good.

The Titan X experience is proving to not be nearly as smooth as og Titan was.

No crashes on my TiX SLI at 1425, stock voltage. I do remember people having finicky Titan X's a few pages back. Latest drivers & Win 7 if that matters.

Titan X's are $999 new so realistically $850 used. Several are listed here at $950 but it appears they are not moving quickly - if at all. It's not worth the hassle.

Got mine for 860$ so getting my money back is fine. I can return it too but with shipping cost and how much i paid for it i think selling it would be better

Sold off one of my Titan X's for $950. I posted the sale this morning, by this afternoon it was gone. Granted that was with the EVGA AIO included.

Sold the Titan X and my LG 34UM95 3440x1440 monitor. Why? Well I had a medical bill come in today that needed to get paid (insurance didn't cover as much as anticipated) and I'm going back to 2560x1440, 1 Titan X is enough for that (25% smaller resolution)

I do think that the value of used Titan X's will plummet once 980TI and especially when AMD's new card comes out.

I don't expect the resale value will budge much. NV's top cards have always held good value regardless of what AMD does. People bring up compute as the sole reason the original Titan held value - however, a GTX 690 still fetches $300 and that's a 3 year old card now

AMD cards however tend to tank hard when NV brings out something better

Same here. Played 30 hours on a stable +200/+350 oc and after latest patch/driver I get driver crashes. Did it three times in an hour so its definitely either the 1.05 update or driver.

Just got mine this week. Are there still any free games with purchase?

what are realistic sustained clocks for evga superclocked on hard loads? (gaming/ GPUGRID/ POEM/ other compute)?

What about on a nice water loop?

You'll run into the power limit around 1350MHz. At that point you'll need a custom bios with a higher power limit and higher voltage to let the card stretch it's legs. Looking at around 1450-1500 then.

Am I reading this incorrectly ?

Why would anyone sell a Titan X to buy a 980 Ti? You are literally downgrading.
