Other than the fact that uPlay blows, that seems like a pretty sweet deal.

I hate all these "upstart" Steam like services. You mean I have to keep track of Steam, uplay, Origin, COG Galaxy, Rockstar Social club, etc, and remember where I installed each game and/or have shortcuts littering my desktop? Lame.

I know you can launch these games via Steam, but it's not the same AND you now have two services running.

They're getting really desperate aren't they?

I'm not Ubi fan but let's not get carried away. When they truly get "desperate" they'll just make console games exclusively and give the finger to PC. That's an eventuality we do not want.

I'm not an Ubi hater. It's funny when give away that many games at once for "free" as DLC vehicles, though.

wow great deal - I'll steer clear of the witcher but still a great deal.

Given some of the shitty and quite frankly anti-consumer things Valve has done with Steam I'd argue that having other services is a good thing. None of them are as good (Origin is close and better in some ways) but competition is important in any market I'd hate to see a world where Valve controlled 100% of the PC digital market.

Um, aren't you forced to use UPlay anyway even if you buy and launch a Ubi game from Steam.

I didn't know that. I figured Ubi had some sort of UI like Steam. I don't need another game manager, and I hate Ubi. Maybe I'll consider picking it up.

True, it's just the mechanics of dealing with the competition on the consumer side. PITA for us to keep track of.

I don't have too much trouble with it. Most games that I care about I know if I own or not. For anything else it doesn't matter if I do because I wouldn't buy them anyway so no point in worrying about remembering. I don't even have an issue with remembering where I have games. EA games are all on Origin, Ubisoft games are all on UPlay (outside of a few exceptions), old games and the Witcher series go to GOG, everything else is on Steam. There is some crossover since some EA and Ubi games I've bought on Steam have been activated on their respective platforms but I only play those games on the 1st party clients anyway so not a big deal. I have a handful of games on Desura from when I used to buy stuff from Indie Royal but I don't care about them enough to see what they are.
