Have 128+ cores working on it right now. This is kind of how I tend to do things... select one project and beat the holy heck out of it! :p

Now that I know 64bit Linux ~four times is better, I'm planning to move a couple boxes to Ubuntu (two quads, 64 2.4Ghz cores) and going to experiment with installing a similar VM on a lower powered quad-socket. Actually might move a nothing special dual-socket to Ubuntu as well to get the most out of it. Oh, if the VM thing works out, I might do the same on a 40-core quad.

Hopefully we'll be seeing some big gains over the weekend. :)

That ~4 times is only on the larger work units. The smaller ones has little difference according to the quote in the main thread.

Not to muddy this thread up too much more, but I've been getting a ton of 5+ hour WUs, far more than the sub 2hr ones. If this holds true then things should work out nicely.

Impressive, fastgeek!

I keep saying I need to get into MP machines, but I keep buying consumer-grade hardware. I don't know exactly what my problem, or fear, is with MP systems. I have to jump into the MP party at some point.

Also, I may need to start concentrating on one project at a time. I tend to crunch on multiple projects at any given time, for whatever reason. I would do better (accumulating points and badges) with individual projects if I just focused on one at a time.

RFGuy_KCCO. I'm just lucky to have access to idle equipment. Sometimes there's a lot, sometimes there's a little. I won't sneak BOINC onto a machine that's in use for something else... if I did things would be even better. :p

Reached Sapphire this morning!

I've reached the Top 5 for RAC; actual current RAC is 87,175 and current total points is 1,071,152.. Not sure if I'll get that belt, but we'll see!

Am up to third for RAC; but seems Grandpa is up to something. :p Hmmm, think I'm going to have to scrounge around tomorrow and bring a few more systems online to counter this challenge! :D

Well Grandpa, I'm not sure what black magic you're conducting over there, but I tip my hat to you, sir. :) Was hoping to get that RAC belt, but after getting the gap down to ~75k you simply pulled away as the current gap is ~130k.

On the bright side, [H]ard|OCP has the team RAC belt by a factor of nearly 4.5x. :D

Who knows though... I may be back. ;)

It is not black magic, it is just a little core magic, I believe around 375 of them currently. I will be running them for about 3 more weeks by then we should be #1 in formula boinc in Number fields and maybe #4 in the Vault, with the both of us running them we are moving up pretty fast. then I will switch back to Edges, Stzaki, and Case and try to get us to #1 in formula boinc in them.:)

So you should be able to get the belt pretty soon. :D

Heh, I "had" that many 4640v1/v2 cores (if not more) for a while, but alas I "lost" quite a few of them recently. :( Was good times while it lasted! :D
