3dmark of carrizo?

what will this compete with @ 2100mhz? is that even correct? I assumed "8800" would put it in the higher clock speed range.

edit: for comparison, a 7850k hits P3000 @ 3700mhz, if Carizzo really is clocked @ 2100 and gets that score, that is indeed impressive.

Yeah, I wouldn't believe any of those clocks on pre-release silicon.

According to Notebookcheck, that score is 20-30% faster in graphics, and 20% faster in physics score (CPU only) than an FX 7600P. Good, but no better than Intel did with Haswell Core i3 at 35w (their main competition).

Not bad if you assume this is the 35w part, but how high can they actually clock things down at 15w?

keep in mind this is not even optimized silicon they still need to finish drivers for it specifically. I would not be surprised if the retail version is better. My only question is when will these chips be put into the wild mid 2015 is very vague it could be june, july, or august...

The A10-4600M Trinity came out (per Wiki), May 15th, 2012. I had one my HP laptop at the end of June. So if they keep with that "2nd half of 2015" that could just mean we have it in laptops by June/July.

The thing is that the APU is prolly very good but the benchmarks do not worry or excite me, the problem tends to be finding one in a configuration that is appealing.

This.

AMD has an issue getting design wins because OEMs have started using 15w processors even in larger designs. That's why I'm curious to see how this translates to that power envelope.

Indeed.

I waited for kaveri mobile to launch for awhile before getting a new laptop. Stopped waiting grabbed a richland part instead. Even now kaveri parts are few and far between.

If I were to get a new one today I would be looking for a 15"+ 1080P screen, 8gb mem (4gbx2) none of that soldered on board stuff, 500gb hard drive at least (I'd just replace it with a ssd anyways), nice slim form factor under 1" thick

Seems most Amd laptops are purely budget machines, with soldered on memory, 720p screen, 500gb 5200rpm hard-drive etc....

the 3dmark 11 score is rather impressive compared to my richland though which scores around 1650 in the same bench. (A10-5757m)

forget budget machines i have been looking at every manufacture only a few had models with amd procs in them and even then they were not the best options. I would say amd is fucked unless it can get some OEM support AMD might need to make the laptops themselves.

The only options i found was lenovo hp and msi... hp and msi were the most expensive and least options... I am also talking the a10. there were a few that offered a4 6 and 8 but only a few had the a10 none were calling it the fx7500P it was all the A10-7300 as the only a10 offering and only lenovo that i found was willing to offer that with the r7 260M 2G.

I hope this is just clear out time for all of them and that they will produce models with carrizo...

I agree..I am going to be getting my Mom a new notebook for Mother's Day, as her current HP dv6XX special edition's PSU brick just went up. I am going to replace the charging brick and sell it locally for a low price to help out a family etc..It has an Nvidia 8400GS in it (just missed Bumpgate thankfully!!) and an SSD I tossed into replace the slow HDD...

I really want to get her one with the top model Carrizo, if it can be equipped with a 1080P+ LCD (IPS, AHVA and touch), at least 8GB of ram, and hopefully an M2 PCI-E slot for an SSD...The last option I can live without but the others are a must for a new notebook in 2015..Levno has had some amazing deals on their touch/different position notebooks that come with very nice specs (intel cpu and Nvidia 750M) for very reasonable prices..

i dont even care about that it can be a barebones basic model as long as i can get the fx 8900P or what ever they call the carrizo but with what im seeing i should start looking at the intel side as that is the only thing available with choices... I just hope amd can get out of this slump if intel is allowed to be the one to rule them all good luck getting good pricing...
