360 Rad Thickness?

I want to move my current top radiator 240 Rad to the bottom of my 800d case and buy a 360 rad for the top. It seems like slim profile radiators are taking over the market, I was planning on getting a radiator the same thickness as my existing one but they are obviously more money. Are the slim profile new designs as effective or in a cost/benefit sweetspot?

EDIT: How do people feel about crossflow or multiport radiators like the XSPC EX360? do they sacrifice temp at all to achieve in/out on opposite sides? I would imagine it would have to take a hit to either temp or flow..

Slim fans do better in small cases. For a big case like yours, go for a thick radiator. There is no substitute for surface area.

thanks for the ongoing help tsumi. I feel the same way. any thoughts on crossflow rads?

If it helps your tubing runs, go for it. I don't think there are that many good crossflow radiators through.

To clarify, I don't think there is any performance penalties to using crossflow radiators of the same construction/type. Crossflow radiators have inherently less restriction, allowing higher flow rates.

I'm running the Alphacool UT60 360, I like it so far. They also have the Monsta which is 80mm thick vs the 60mm UT60. Like Tsumi said the more surface area the better.
