It's been two weeks and there's still no 2015 thread, so i'm making one now! As always, the rules:

  • Keep images a reasonable size.
  • If pictures turn to red 's for a significant period then they may be removed.
  • DO NOT link images from servers that are not yours, host them yourself.
  • All posts must adhere to the forum rules, and the Case Modding forum rules in the Case Mod FAQ.
  • Comments are ok but lets try to keep them to a minimum please

I will help get things started.

Why do we need separate rig and workstation threads? Half of each is just crossposts between each other.

One focuses on the overall setup / desk / monitors, the other focuses on the sexy machines themselves. (From what I can tell)
Besides! It gives me more threads to browse while "busy" at work. >__>

Also! Subbed.

EDIT/UPDATE: Core upgrades complete. The build and case modding project is finally finished a year later. Thanks again to CoolerMaster for the free case upgrade!

Nicely done 250D, very nice. What panel is that for the front? Is that paint or vinyl? Also...

This is my rig! : D

Just booted it up after giving it a huge bath the other day... (Apogee GTZ leaked like crazy)

Replaced with XSPC Raystorm and nothing died thankfully.

Core system parts overhaul coming soon

Forgive my ignorance: What is that small card all by itself on the left? It doesn't look like it's connected to the motherboard, but might be a fan or light controller?

Love this case, btw, and you did a great job on the paint. I'm trying to decide between this and the Corsair 540 when I upgrade next. Will depend greatly on which one will fit my drives (currently have 3 3.5" drives that I would need to transfer/upgrade, haven't gone the SSD route yet).

Its the controller for my sleeved white lights. The HAF XB EBO is built like a tank, the steel is very strong and sturdy, I am not impressed with the build quality of the 540 or its asthesics personally.

The EVO has room for 4 3.5'' drives, 2 in the SSD cage with clip on rails and 2 more in the hot swap bay. You could put 2 more in the 5.25'' bays but you will need to buy bay converters.

I put one of these Coolermaster drive bays, robbed from a Coolermaster 430 case, into my HAF-XB EVO,
HAF-XB-Dock-Bay.jpg

takes any 3.5" SATA drive straight in, this is an icydock 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor cage,

Drive partially inside the bay,

I have the same bay robbed from another 430 case installed in my HAF-932 upstairs.

Geez tough crowd...that's not its permanent home. Just raised it off the floor to take the pics.

And dear God man, that Chandelier simply collides with that horrid cream paint thrown in those boring walls and my goodness, where ever did you find that horrendous carpet? It simply screams desperate with that black lined furniture :D

Yo, so when you got multiple photos like this, you can do this thing called focus-stacking. It used to be a photographers trick, but now photoshop can do it. It's worth reading the tutorials on. Anyway, if you combine your two half-focused pictures, you can make this:

Pretty slick ya?

Do you notice your Coolermaster CPU fan throttling a lot? Mine seems to throttle for a second then slow then throttle and slow. Wondering if maybe mine is getting false readings.

That could be due to your motherboard's fan controller. With that said, I haven't used the stock Coolermaster fan for over a year now. I have a Scythe S-Flex fan on it now.

This is an incredible build. Wire management is amazing and the color scheme is awesome.

Current build, Will be integrating into 750D, 300R is to small, had to dremel fans on the radiator to fit over the heatsync on the MOBO.
